Hello there,

I'm looking to make a new build and want a sanity check before going on a buying spree on the below components.  I like the reliability and support I've received on EVGA products so far, so I'm looking to go with an EVGA motherboard for my build. I do a fair amount of image editing in photoshop and lightroom and some light gaming (fallout, maybe skyrim when it comes out).  Any feedback and recommendations are appreciated, thanks!

HDD: Crucial 128 GB m4 SATA 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch SSD

Looks good. If you plan on going SLI in the future I would go ahead and pick up a 750w or 850w PSU.

Case - Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X
    Mobo - EVGA X570 FTW
    CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
    RAM - 32GB Trident Z Royal 3600MHz 14-14-14-34
GPU - EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming
    PSU - Seasonic Prime TX-1000
Heatkiller IV CPU Waterblock / Heatkiller V GPU Waterblock
Heatkiller V EBC Active Backplate / Two Heatkiller Rad 360 L
    Six Noctua NF-A12x25 / Heatkiller D5 Pump

you can run 2 560 TIs on 650 W  granted you generally lose PSU efficiency because youre using a higher percentage of the 650 W but I think you can run 2 460 SEs on 650W

On a side note, you should get a superclocked cooler to finish the EVGA roundup xD

    system looks good

The Hyper CPU Cooler is great, wouldn't change it.

The CPU Case should be switched to a CoolerMaster HAF 912.

I'd switch the memory over to these:

Mushkin is a great company, they are based out of Colorado.

The SSD should be switched to this:

As for SLI being in question, the Corsair HX650 is a silver certified PSU, more than capable of powering a an SLI set-up with two GTX 460's... All the way up to a pair of GTX 560Ti's (as all ready stated.) if you want to move up to a pair of GTX 570's or above in the future, you would want to get something like the HX850.

why Mushkin? and why 1866? thats a fair bit more expensive than 1333 or even 1600

And why a 80 GB Sata II SSD over a 128 GB SATA III? the Sata III Will be a good bit faster. In fact the crucial is cheaper per GB aswell

As far as your processor choice, at microcenter, you can get the i7 2600k which is a monster in its self, for $279 get the AX 750 and not have any issues in the future, I would hit up the 850 for extra measure but thaats just me. Microcenter DOES price match newegg.

And unless you are overclocking, you can use stock cooler on the CPU, and get corsair memory, lifetime warrenty, great reliability, and not to expensive, 1333 is fine for what you want to do. Your not building the best of the best, so dont worry about getting ram thats clocked more then you will ever need. I do recommend the better PSU for futureproofing yourself, incase you do up your g-card or add a second one.

    Hi guys,

thank you for all the help.  I just finished the build, everything is working awesome, I went with the below parts.  I figure I can upgrade to an SSD later, since the prices will keep coming down.  Haven't overclocked the CPU yet, thats next on the list.  The Cooler Master case is one of the best designed cases I've ever worked with, I'm glad I went with this case.

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K LGA 1155 (local microcenter had some great deals)
    Motherboard: EVGA Intel P67 ATX DDR3 1333 SLI 130-SB-E675-KR
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE
    Memory: Corsair 8 GB DDR3 1333
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB SATA 3.0
    PSU: Corsair 650-Watt 80 Plus - CMPSU-650HX

get another 460se from Bstock for 80 bucks. (I think)

I have a very similar setup to you lol.

    2500k
    asrock p67 extreme4
    gskill 8gb 1600
    spinpoint f3
    corsair 750w
    2x EVGA gtx460 SE
    haf922
    hyper212+

If you pick up another 460se you should expect vantage scores to be in the range of ~25000

Also get another fan for the heatsink for a push/pull setup. I love the Hypher 212+. I've had two of the them.
