Well, tonight my GTX470 decided she wanted to give way! Started little green artifacts all over the screen, mind you i don't have anything overclocked in the slightest. This is going to be my 3rd 470 within the last month and a half.......I'm hoping 3rd times a charm. :\

phone pic lol!

    UPDATE:
Artifacts have been getting worse! I can not run 3D Mark 11. After the initial "Preparing tests" or whatever my PC freezes. I'm pretty sure the card is toast. Would you guys say so?

It did not report any artifacts with EVGA OCS, tho i only let it run for about 30 min.

It takes about 2 minutes into CoD4 to see the artifacts.

What PSU are you using?  Your sig shows a 750W OCZ but it also shows a MB that doesnt support 3 way SLI.  Some system details would be helpful, if you can post them.

    Sure,
What system info do you need?

Well a full hardware list similar to what you have in your signature would be the best place to start.  I am mainly confused because your sig system inst capable of 3 way SLI so I don't see how you are doing 3 way unless it is a whole different system.

I am not doing 3-Way SLI, it is impossible to do on my board lol. I think you misread, i had stated that with this RMA it will be my 3rd GTX470 within the last month and a half.

Would you consider those green dots artifacts? If you saw these, would you RMA?

    Thanks.

You know what.... I did misread... my bad...

What is the max amperage on the PSU you have for the +12V?  3 18A rails does not equal 54A available.  It is usually more along the lines of 45A.  It may not list it as total combined amps for the +12V, it might list it as a total available wattage for the +12Vs.  That total available wattage, divide it by 12 and you will get your available amperage for the +12V in total.

I'll have to check that when i get home in a few hours.
Shouldn't the GTX280 actually consume more power and need a higher amperage than the new GTX400 series cards? My GTX280 ran fine.

I really can't add them all up? I was told by numerous EVGA Tech's that if i have more than (1) +12v rail i can simply just add the Amps together. Also, 45Amps is still over the recommend rating.

System RequirementsMinimum of a 550 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 38 Amps.)

I dont disagree with the fact that your PSU should be working, I am just pointing out that the total amperage that your PSU has available to the +12V is different on a multi rail PSU.

Have you looked at your bios and what the +12V is reading in voltage output?

Yes i have, it is reading 12.47 and does NOT fluctuate. Weird thing is, i opened speed fan to check the +12v there and it was reporting around 10.20v. Called up OCZ and they said not to go off the BIOS because it's just jumble. So i set up an RMA thinking it was my PSU cuz speedfan reported it low. I went down to microcenter before shipping off my PSU; Purchased another PSU and it was reporting the same EXACT thing, so i know the PSU is not bad.

I would agree on speed fan, but the bios is very close to correct.  12.47V is high, but not technically out of range.  See what it reads with CPUz or eleet inside of the OS.
