Any one have experience going from a pair of 480GTx's in 2way sli and a pair of 560 Ti's in SLi and the difference in temps between the two? I'd be curious to know what you saw with a pair of 480's versus a pair of 560's if any. I am going to do a 2way Sli so I can add a pair of monitors to my existing setup and get 2d surround and already have a single 480 GTX, but am considering doing a pair of 560's instead.

Temps on my 480 run about 45 degrees C at idle in a Fortress 2 case. Am hoping I can go Sli and keep temps at idle under 60 and at full press at or around 80 or below, which I know is a stretch since I see 75 on my single card now.

560s use much less power than the 480 so they should run a decent bit cooler. With my fan profile my 470s never top 72c and the fan stays below 70%. Save Furmark or any of those af scanners...Talking about games and benching.

If you want 560 SLI definitely go for the Ti versions as they outperform the 470s and use a lot less power and seem to get to 900MHz easy.

480's will out perform 560 Ti's... temp differences will be about 10-20c depending on if you use a fan profile or not.

Seems to me you would get better performance out of another 480.  The 560ti is a great card though and you will like them for their size and temps.  I think from what I remember reading the 560 does use less power than the 470 until it gets to about 950 or so and then it actually consumes more electricity than the 470.  Of course that does not account for overclocking the 470.
