Hey guys, I downloaded the 301.42 drivers and installed them (after uninstalling old driver and driver sweeping in safe mode) and nvidia tray will not start up. I have to manually go in to the nvidia folder every time to start the control panel and apply settings.. Is anyone else having this problem? I have everything installed on the H: drive as that is where all my programs go. I installed it 3 times picking different settings and still get the same problem every time. Matter of fact the nvidia tray doesnt work at all, only the control panel .exe will. when you double click on the tray icon nothing happens. I have windows 7 64 bit.

now that you mention it...same thing for me but i never used the icon anyway if you're looking for a quick way to the nvcp you can right click on your desktop and open the nvidia control panel from there tho

Hahah.. I know I posted on here before.. but something must have happened. Back then I got a 6800 GT card. Anyhow, ya that is the other problem. When I right click on my desktop the little circle wait thing comes up and makes me wait forever, finally when my option does come up there is nothing nvidia anywhere in it. I am working on another clean install (driver wise) and see where that gets me.

Hey... Got if fixed thanks to suggestion above. I had changed my registry in windows 7 so that every program installs on my H: drive by default so that it doesn't take up valuable real estate on my SSD. Well I had to change it back to where nvidia installed everything on the drive with the O.S. and now everything is working fine. So.. bottom line is that Nvidia needs you to install everything on the operating system drive. There is no way around it for everything to get working right.

Similar issue here. Control Panel doesn't start with Windows startup but I can load it afterwards. It is also in the list if I right click the desktop so slightly different than the OP's issue. Registry setting somewhere perhaps?
