Hello, On the 20th of April 2017, I purchased my first EVGA card (my first NVIDIA card in over a decade for a matter of fact), the 1080 Superclocked from Amazon UK. Within a day of using the card, I noticed a rattling sound coming from one of the fans, which was more audible the further the fans sped up. It sounded similar to what happened to one of my MSI cards, a long time ago, where in the fans would spit out its fan lubricant all over the shroud and thus produced a rattling sound. I contacted Amazon and they sent out a replacement no questions asked and I returned the card the next day, so I thought that would be the end of it. Only when the replacement arrived, it's lasted about a week and now I can hear the same rattling noise again coming from the fans (only quieter than the first card but still audible). How can I be this unlucky! Is this issue common on this card? A quick Google doesn't bring up much

Ive had my 1080 sc about 4 months and havent had that issue, not sure if its been a thing though.

No need. Amazon have offered me a return/refund on the card.

Amazon is good at replacements but keep in mind EVGA since they look after customers. They really do care about customer service and are happy to help. No product line is 100% fault free so really good customer support means a lot.

Hello,
if this issue ever appears you can remove the card and place it fan side up on a wooden table or cardboard to avoid static discharge.
Then, place light downward pressure onto the middle of the fan with your index finger and you should feel a bit of play. Press up and down on the center of the fan; this should re-align any bearings that may be causing this issue.
If you continue to have the fan noise please let us know.

my 1070 sc makes a rattling sound when the fan reaches 62 - 63 % but not before or after that so may try the pressing fans trick later.

I wonder if the fan made contact with something inside the case. Maybe a cable or connector hit it while it was spinning?

does not seem to have anything hitting the fans in or out side the card but its been like that for about 5 months and only makes the rattle for a short time while the fans hit those speeds.

Same with mine. Couldn't see anything in the way of the fan, it was one of the first things I looked for on both cards.

Could the pressing be applied other fans such as the NZXT AERs I have rattle in one of mine

Hate to come back and say this, but it didn't last long. It started rattling again  Returned to Amazon this morning. Going to put the refund towards a 1080Ti (probably a SC2 or FTW3) so it's not all bad news I suppose!
