Zuhl3156 I kept getting fragged and didn't know where the grenades were coming from. I looked everywhere. Closest Super Mutant was way across the map. It was Piper! IDK where she found the grenades because I search the bodies first and take all of the junk and caps leaving her only ammo and a weapon here and there before I tell her to check it out. Piper throws like a girl. She's tossing grenades at enemies on the other side of the map and they are either hitting me in the back or landing at my feet. I should reach max affinity soon with her. After I finish any extra missions from her I am going back to get Lazy Bones MacReady again. I already snagged several Missile Launchers before she did or I'd be toast and the Power Armor I gave her would be in ruins. I'd better check her inventory for a Fatman before she kills us both.
"I kept getting fragged and didn't know where the grenades were coming from. It was Piper!" Nothing worse than a woman's scorn. Even in this game I guess. LOL I first encountered the mysterious where did my companion get that from with the robots. The nearest thing I can think of in your case is that bodies aren't the only things they check out.

This planter box better sing to me, it better have a gold frame around, spring buffout/je/stimpacks, of my choice and when I need them, and if I choose a drug from it, the duration better be longer.
If it doesn't sing to you I'll dispatch a fiddler or two to your location. No guarantees they will get there.

It would come in handy at places like Starlight Drive-in to plant more crops since there isn't much dirt over there. It better come pre-filled too because I'm not going to go looking for dirt with a shovel and wheelbarrow. Up next - assigning settlers to dirt fetching duty!
Don't forget the crap job for fertilizer. Dog Meat might like this. Nice Dog Meat, sniff sniff.

Wasn't that what you were thinking with Cait? No wonder Piper lobs grenade at you. And the baby part of that equation needs your parts but with Piper and her grenades you may want to seriously consider extra protection in a certain area. LOL

Speaking of Piper. She keeps getting "killed" by me because I'll use a doorway as a choke point. So what does the silly woman do? Stand directly in the line of fire. Going to leave her at home and then only go get her when I need a pack mule. Im hoping that when the GECK is released, someone will dig into the companion AI and that will hopefully allow us to exert a bit more control over the idiots. agent8 I've been playing this game all day and sadly, I am at the point where the game is broke for me. I don't mean that I have corrupted saves or I am stuck in the wall or anything. What I mean is when you get to the point in a game where you figure it out sort of speaking. Like when you already know how a Npc is going to react or when dialog options are going to come up or when a turret is around the corner. I am at level 70 and I am nearing the end of the game and I think I am just going to finish it. I had a blast but it's just time. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Kind of like when you play an old nintendo game and they make all the secret entrances or places where you can bomb one shade different or change a pixel or two and after awhile you can just see them without trying? Or when you figure out how to clip in a doorway and all the enemies are just easy after that? I have over 300 stempacks and whatever mission I am on, it seems all I have to do is take even a weak gun with a suppressor, crouch down(for the 3.5X sneak perk), headshot, press Q as I walk in to check and it's done. Even a legendary deathclaw or something big, I just run up and shotgun it in the face, stempack and move on. I will say the minigun ride in the verdabird was a nice change of pace but I think unless Piper all of the sudden pulls me in a room and has her way with me, I think I am going to wrap it up. Definitely a great game, I hope if they make another one, they keep making changes and make it as fun as this has been.
I totally get what you mean. Skyrim started heading that way for me. I was high enough level that it really didn't matter what I ran into, it wasn't a challenge. The AI had become predictable along with other features. With Fallout having the level cap removed, I can see that happening as well, just as you described. My suggestion: Finish the game, set it aside for a few months and wait for the release of the Creation Kit and time for the modders to really get to work. If Skyrim is any indication, there will be some mods that will radically change the game. Plus each DLC will have a minor effect on the game as well. Like the fact that I keep ending up with strange Meat and strange meat stew when I loot the corpses of raiders. And the new drugs that are showing up.

I didn't even make it to level 50 before I was done. Bethesda games start off great, but if you really play them you become a super hero and are rewarded all the time that exploration become meaningless. Most of the content is going through the motions and when you're a super hero there is no challenge any more which is antithetical to the whole waste land survivor theme. This absurd idea that having to do routine tedious things is "difficulty" now days needs to go too. My main issue with Fallout 4 is the lame paid DLC and the withholding of mod tools to sell it. This was the first Bethesda game I've preordered and I won't make that mistake again.

Sounds to me you need to put on survival mode. 1) Eventually normal gets too easy, and gets boring. You need to crank the difficulty up. The higher the difficulty, the harder things get, including radiation, healing. (Warning: keep your distance against the ghouls on Survival mode.) 2) I would suggest you try another approach to the game. Try starting over and create a different class. Sneaking is too easy at times. Regarding difficulty, once again, the higher the difficulty, the sneaking gets harder as well. Those are only 2 things I can think of that would help you get back into the game. There are other areas as well. One thing I can't stress enough is that when you're playing on survival mode and end up in a gun fight in the city, it's hard as hell. You definitely have to hide around the corners when bullets are flying at you, and grenades can really do some damage. I'm approaching level 68, and I myself am not a sponge when it comes to bullets, unfortunately, when on survival mode. You obviously need a harder challenge.

Honestly, I don't think it would hurt at all if they added a bow & arrow to the game. I mean, come on, how hard was it to make a bow & arrow back then? Don't answer that... I'm just saying that because it's a post catastrophic time and nobody is really producing anything in the available warehouses, making a bow & arrow would be a nice, revolutionized weapon. Definitely would beat the boring syringe rifle. Nothing beats a bow & arrow using grenade tipped arrows.

Agent8, This +1000. There are a few levels of difficulty between normal mode and Survival mode and that should keep you busy. The "but" here is that you may have to readjust your game play.

I reached level 100 and still need to unlock Bunker Hill and add it to my list of settlements. I need to deal with the Mayor of Diamond City too since I hear that he has it in for my current 'main squeeze' Piper. I'm not sure who is left for Companions but after I reach max affinity with Piper I think I am left with just MacReady. There must be others. I just have to check the list and see who I missed. I really want to romance Isabel Cruz too.

I suppose I will bring up the difficulty for a bit. I know there is a bit more to the game. It just seemed like a big jump too. Not so much for me but my settlements. I built them all up decently and every once in a while I would get an alert that one of them is being attacked and most of the time, I would fast travel and it would already be done and over with maybe a raider or two. Now it seems I race over and I have a hoard of superhumans or something massacring my settlements and when I get there, half my turrets are waster and bodies are all over. I guess that's more challenging, just frustrating to run and help. Guess I will build up defenses some more. What really wore me out is getting crappy tech for scribe Haylen 20 times finally to realize that they never end.

Nothing is better (when on survival mode) than loading into a settlement to see 13 super mutants just pound you to death, just for you to load the recent save.

Nothing is more irritating than to constantly get a quest from Preston. I avoid him when I can. I actually get the quests from the Minutemen radio station. It tends to be more quaint than hearing Preston over and over. I started creating a base in the bottom part of the map. I can't remember the name, but it's the settlement which is like in the middle of a swamp, has a broken down house, and a piece of construction equipment. I built a balcony which goes around the broken down house, so the only way to get to the base is to go up the strairs, and follow the balcony around the broken down house, which leads to flight of stairs, which then goes up into the base. Base has 3 levels. First level has a tower so a settler can defend, and I can see beyond the horizon, and I can defend the base from the top level. If they get me from there, then I have 2 other levels to go from to defend the base. As soon as I finished the last piece (literally), not having any turrets put down yet, I get raided by super mutants, a group of 10 (3 of them carrying miniguns). Definitely was a fight. I had to hide around the windows a bit, and use my trusty defensive tower in the back of my base, going from levels to levels to defend the base off. In this area, it's best to have settlers carrying other guns than just a pipe pistol. it can take longer to clear out if they just have pipe pistols. I'm waiting for the moment where a mirelurk queen comes and attacks that base. It was quite the trouble defending off that area with no base put down, and the settlers defending themselves with just pipe pistols. Now it's going to be different. They're going to have a ride when they come back.

If your settlers are only packing those sissy pipe pistols, it can take longer to clear it out, if you're on a harder difficulty.
I didn't know about the Minuteman radio station but I have been running into more and more antenna arrays that need to be activated. I think you're talking about that Murkwater or Mirelurk Constrution site way down south. I built them up a while ago and don't hear too much from them. Whenever I get a radio station or garbled transmission I don't know how to find which direction it is coming from other than just wander around in circles.

I built a balcony which goes around the broken down house, so the only way to get to the base is to go up the strairs, and follow the balcony around the broken down house, which leads to flight of stairs, which then goes up into the base. Base has 3 levels, but as soon as I finished, not having any turrets put down yet, I get raided by super mutants, a group of 10. Definitely was fight. I had to hide around the windows a bit. going from levels to levels is definitely a plus if you ever get raided at a settlement.
It should be quite easy to do. The music or transmission should get louder and louder.

I was getting tired of Preston constantly giving me the same hostage rescue missions or ghoul infestation problems and suddenly they stopped for a while. I was constantly going back and forth from Finch Farm, County Crossing and that ghoul run farm and then nothing. After a while they started back up and Preston kept me busy and then they stopped again and that was a long time ago. I even had Preston for a companion and reached max affinity with him before snagging Piper. Now whenever I talk to him he just reminds me about how he'll always have my back or he just stands around Sanctuary leaning against a post. IDK if Preston is just burned out and needs a vacation or what. LOL

Occasionally I get the courier quests. Those are nice. It kind of breaks the ice a little bit, and with the raiders involved by protecting it, it can get quite interesting.

I've been trying to chat it up with Keller in Bunker Hill to get her quests but the 'Old Bag' won't give me the time of day yet. Too bad they didn't have any hormone treatments available. LOL

They definitely need to have more raids available than the constant rescue quests.

I'm still randomly discovering new locations but I have to say this game is nowhere near as fun as it was opening up new map areas in Far Cry 4. I think I'll go back to Far Cry 4 for a while. That was a lot more fun for me and I would like to reach 100% completion before I start over again.

Just like you, I have taken a break from Fallout 4, and went back to playing Empire: Total War. Yeah, it may be outdated a bit, but I find it to be the best RTS of all time from the Total War series, regardless of what people think of RTW2 being the best. I do look forward to TW:Warhammer.

I'm still waiting for today's Fallout 4 DLC to drop. I'm not terribly excited about it but I might as well get it downloaded and installed so I can verify my cache files before the crashing problems start just like they did with the last DLC. I romanced Piper last night. Still looking to get those Diamond City quests with her. I talked to Preston hoping he had a Minuteman mission for me but after listening to him whine for a while one of my options as a reply was 'Romance' in bright red letters. I already have my companion perk from him so he'd better get a life or find someone else to shack up with. LOL
