Heh I ran that can I run it thing for FO4 and my pc and yep my pc is definitely in need of replacement before I play newer games like FO4. I very much want to play this game so badly.

Don't spoil the game by running it on something that can't make the grade. I'm running a 770 classy and I have a choice. Reduce some settings or buy a 980 TI SC. I am serious when I say it is worth the upgrade.

Yea according to the online test the 2600K and GTX 770 ACX are insufficient but I'm not surprised. My plan is to upgrade to a 970\980 and Skylake.

The only place I found a 980 TI SC was on amazon. They now have 1 less in their inventory. You may want to consider purchasing one very soon as FO 4 is letting people know the lower level cards won't let you go ultra without some issues.

Wow I looked up the cost on those and way too much for me. I'm already looking at spending a grand and half to two grand on a new pc.

Insufficient? No way. Unless you're aiming for a constant 200 FPS, ok.

I wouldn't be worried about FPS with this game at this point.  I had to limit my FPS to 88 just so I could use any terminals.  Anything above 90 causes a glitch that causes you to freeze when exiting a terminal...

I agree. I'd just like to know why it's "insufficient." It is sufficient at 1080p or 1200p, given my CPU is older than the 2600K also.

I'm not. However this pc as is wouldn't be able to properly run any newer game like FO4. For 2 reasons. It's a Alienware and it's running the outdated Sandy Bridge tech. Heck even some games I already run at medium-high still push the computer into a near struggle state sometimes. From what research I've done the hardware in this computer just doesn't work well at all. So yea I've had over 4 years of problems. It's as such made me weary of getting much more modern games to play on it.

I'm on an X58 based rig and it runs just fine. People lose their minds when they talk about upgrading for a game when it'll run on 5 year old hardware with decent settings.

I'm not making FO4 my singular goal for upgrading to a new pc. I've had as I've said nothing but issues with this computer for nearly 4 years. FO4 is a game amongst many that I'd love to play but I've had to hold back drastically due to the limitations of my pc. Even with decent settings I've seen my pc struggle. I've actually come to regret buying a Alienware cause of all the issues I've had.

My GTX 970 is running around mid 50's to low 70's outdoors and 90 framerate cap, otherwise I get stuck at terminals on mostly ultra/high settings with TAA enabled @2.5k resolution. SweetFX kills my framerate for some reason though.

Loving the game. Textures need a lot of work and I'm sure the modders are already at work.

Gsync is heaven.

That's about what I'm getting too.

I'm geting a steady 72 FPS which is exactly half of my monitor's refresh rate. It must have a V-sync setting or frame limiter in the game that's holding me back. The weird number must have something to do with 1080p vs 1080i though I don't understand why it would be different from my other games.

There's a setting in the .ini file you have to edit to turn off in game v-sync.  I had that same problem when I limited my frames to 90 (so I would stop getting stuck at terminals), and it kept defaulting to 72 FPS.

It's running smooth so no reason to change anything. I just find it odd that I am limited to exactly half of my refresh rate that's all. No other game has picked that number before.

try disable v-sync and set to preferred max performance in NVCP / mine was stuck at 60 fps until i changed it, now at 180 -200 all settings on ultra (1080p) smooth!

It's running fine and isn't broke so I'm reluctant to break it right now. If it isn't broke...     fix it until it is?

I gotta figure out how to get my computer hacking skills higher. There are some terminals I can't hack because I don't have a high enough experience level. No pwd to be found on any corpses either.

Yeah, so...

Absolutely fantastic game so far.  A few glitches (to be expected) but overall, fantastic.

Crafting is a blast (finally!)

I had another 'out of body experience' where I got stuck between a terminal and a chair. I looked to my right and saw my left shoulder while my head must have been hovering in the air somewhere. I had to load the auto-save point from when I entered the building.

My first experience of a glitch happened last night. I was encumbered moving things around in the home base. Hopped into crafting mode and the encumbered persisted after I moved things between containers. Required a restart to clear the slow walk issue. Also crafting snap-to building pieces is sub-par. The building crafting needs a mechanics design review.
