What is the difference between FTW and XC (apart from 3 cooling vs 2) ? Is the $40 bucks more worth it ? Will it give me more FPS ?

Thanks

I'm sure someone could answer this better, but it is my understanding that the main differences is a beefier heatsink, +1 fan, and the addition of RGB lighting... If there is a FPS difference I'd imagine it would be minor at best; but a beefier heatsink is always welcomed.

For me it was about getting my hands on just something, whichever was offered first, to replace my ancient GF760 card.

Higher powerlimit which is basically everything for ampere cards. ($40 more is worth it for this alone)
Thicker cooler, Extra 8pin plug which allows for the higher power limit.
Couple extra phases on the VRM which dont really ammount to anything since even reference is already overkill.
Bit more RGB since the cooler is bigger. And lastly more tempture sensors on it.

can you choose either as in set it to which ever is available first or is it toggle switch when you hit the step up link?  I haven't hit the button yet. STill trying to figure this out. I want the one with better lower temp on load.

I am afraid to hit the link until i know which I want as I seen you can't back out or you loose the option to stepup.

I have no idea what your talking about can't back out or you can't step up. Whoever said that to you is totally wrong. Buy whatever you want it has nothing to do with the step up program. Between the two the ftw models are the best bigger cooler and higher clocks plus the extra sensors and temp monitoring. Just do it and don't forget to use an associate code such as the one in my signature and grab an additional 5% off. One thing for sure, for every hour you put of getting on the list your adding much more time to when you get the notification to get one.
