Hi guys, I bet for evga for my new rig, I am between the FTW and the classified k, my use are games and programming web sites, movies, entertainment etc..

I already have the another pieces, Evga 970 ssc, i76700k, corsair lpx 3200mhz 8x2 (I hope don't have problems with this mem) noctua u12p se, creative sound blaster titanium (I don't no if the onboard sound it's better than my old sound card) crucial 128gb and 1tb westerdigital for my games.

Can u help me to decide? Are 100$ the diferences between the mobs, but I want quality , you think I going to have problems with my stuff? (Compatibility)

May be in the future I try sli.. But not right now.

The Classified K Model dose have a USB 2.0 Header installed on the Motherboard.
The Classified Model dose have a USB 3.1 Header installed on the Motherboard.

I don't have nothing on 3.1 😕, may be in a future, I can put some card on pcie to get usb 3.1 in the FTW?

Yes on FTW Motherboard you can use USB 3.1 Port card in x4 slot.
But Classified K don't need USB 3.1 card and you can install Sound Card in x1 slot and Intel 750 SSD in x4 slot.
Very nice motherboard is Classified K.
 
Only is question what you need, what you plan in future and how much are you ready to pay.
It's better Z170 FTW and i7 than Classified K and i5 example.
 
I didn't pay attention on IMC capability of Skylake processor but 3000MHz look more secure.
Maybe is better 3000MHz kit with lower latency than 3200 with higher.
 
 
 
 

I already have the mem.. I hope don't have problems, I know the K it's better than FTW but right know evga have a very nice offer on the FTW 187$ With tax and shipping.. And the K on newegg 249$ without tax and shipping :( , if worth it pay 100$ for the K?

I would probably bought Classified 4 way and keep only single card and sound card.

I think I go for the FTW.. I read some people saying have bad design.. But well, will see. Thx for your time and your help..

What CPU Cooler are you going with?
Only the K model has a USB 2.0 Header for coolers like the H100i and so on.

I read that :( I am planning use my noctua u12p but in a future I want a corsair h100i

What rig do you have?

I have X99 RIG now. It's in my signature. But before I had Z77 FTW and she served me excellent.
Reliable motherboard easy for overclocking processors I still have. She is clean in box, like new.
But that was premium board, E-ATX, angled 24 pin, similar as new X99 FTW K EVGA should present for several weeks.
Who say Z170 FTW have bad design? What is wrong? I only see that EVGA improve quality of motherboards.
 

I am with you, my p55 work like the first day, now I have to decide between ftw or k.. Maybe the K it's better option because Have USB 3.1 type a and c.. But worth it expend 100$ more?

Told me about the K, it's good OC? What memos are you using? It's fast booting?

Easy to OC, I can get 4.6 stable, 4.8 not so much...chip more than board. I run stock most of the time, no need for an OC. I run G.Skill DDR4 4x4gb 3200 speed in XMP1 profile, not problems with the memory at all.

I think he should close eays and to pay Z170 Classified K.
I imagine self... and I would maybe rather invest in K version than normal Classified, only I like 24pin angled.
That make me happy as nothing else...
Only look how long you use your previous PC, you deserve Classified K.
 

Thx for the advice, tomorrow I decide what are going to do, I think I go for the K, more thinking about the future, the FTW it's beautiful, and for 159$ it's very good deal, but don't have usb 3.1 and the usb 2.0 header..

I hope my noctua fix in the K, I know don't have problem with FTW.
I hope the corsair lpx 3200mhz works fine.
I hope this mobo is a good as my old p55.

To be honest I think that no one make board as 2006-2007-2008...
Now boards are much more complicate, much nicer but I think before manufacturer think more on quality control. I hope everything will be fine, anyway you are old EVGA customer if some little problem show up they will take care for you fast. 
 
I save money for GPU upgrade or maybe and I would even invest in X99 FTW K and sell my board.
Simply because I could sell my board much faster and easier than any other and invest in water cooling and than I would have full EVGA PC again... 
My other idea is to soon cross on smaller form factor.
That would be little harder because all mATX boards miss something I need.

What do you think about the itx systems? I liked a lot! The stinger it's beautiful.. I don't no why evga don't have micro mtx.

Wice choice. This will be one huge performance boost.
From i5 old almost 7 years to newest i7-6700K with fantastic single and
multithreaded performance for one CPU with 4 cores and strongest chipset ever made.
Easy and patient with installation. Enjoy in every minute, not hurry, special with installation CPU in socket.

You will probably need little more posts for link... Video clip on Spanish language is good for several countries where people understand Spanish.
 
I must have one more EVGA motherboard.... owners spread that on me and now I'm jealous... 
With so nice E-ATX boards I will never build my mATX RIGs mostly because manufacturers
never build mATX with same VRM as premium boards. And they need same power section only 3 instead 5 PCI-E slots.
 

EVGA will launch this CPU cooler during 2016...
 

 

That's and my wish but I can't afford water cooling and hardware I want in same time.
Other people invest in Radeon instead GeForce and than build watercooling,
because Radeon is much cheaper usually, or cheaper graphic card and rest for watercooling.
At the moment I need only Samsung 950 PRO 512GB and graphic card to finish my build.
But I can't invest in M.2 now until I finish GPU upgrade.
