tyranus7 I'm here not to rant on EVGA, or the queue method (which I think is the best so far developed by any GPU brand or retailer), but to express my frustration with ... well... people. Look at this:
According to this thread: https://forums.evga.com/Post-Your-RTX-3080-Ti-XC3-3070-Ti-XC3-Auto-Notify-Time-Elite-Members-First-24-Hours-Only-m3416207.aspx only 19 people have reported receiving an email to buy the XC3 3080 Ti, but en eBay there are 41 listings already, plus those that were sold. Based on that I'm guessing that 75% or more of the queue just decided to scalp the graphics card. Of course I'm like 10 minutes away on the queue and I'm not going to get this card never because everyone knows XC3 models are extremely short runs of stock. I'm just so frustrated with people's greed man.. I can't find the right words to express it. Anyone else feeling the same?
Did you take a look at the sellers and what state they're in? And if there is a MC there? MC gets these cards in too... https://www.reddit.com/r/...enter_fully_stocked_no

kram36 My post was pointed at people selling cards for a price they would lose money if they bought the card at MSRP. So with reasonable deduction, people selling cards at the price like the one I linked to had used a wheel spin discount code when they bought the card. Hence why I said EVGA should stop this wheel spin discount deal. These people are new Elite Members and only came here for one reason, to get a card under MSRP and sell it. They are not going to be a loyal customer to EVGA, they just gamed the system. Again, I'm not saying all new Elite Members are here just to do that. Honor those that already have the code, but EVGA should end the spin the wheel deal discount code.
So basically there was no point in you quoiting me. Got it!.

Seems like they are making about $250-275 depending on sales tax and shipping fees they cover. Ebay and paypal take a lot. (~$241)

Your original reply to my post that quoted my post had nothing to do with the context of what I said. That's why I was confused as to why you quoted me.

So i visited a microcenter for the first time last friday. They had a 3080ti there for 1999 a non-priced 3090 and a bunch of others. Thing is they are ALL above MSRP, but at least 2-300. They were there and noone was even interested in them. Then someone posted in the PCMR facebook group that they were "soooo lucky" to have found a 3080ti at Microcenter, given that i had just seen the price i asked what they paid and they said MSRP. I've just learned that people just straight up lie and dont admit they buy scalper priced cards and it just frustrates me more than people trying to sell them is what im getting at but obviously people can do what they want with their money, so scalpers are not the whole of this problem.

Unless they went to your exact same Microcenter same day and time as you then you’re just making assumptions. I have my Microcenter receipt where I purchased my 3080Ti on Friday and it clearly says 1399.99 which is MSRP. Edit: Also, as pointed out it depends on the brand as well. Asus is the most expensive of them all. I’ve never known Microcenter to sell above MSRP so you must’ve been looking at an ASUS which is exactly 1999.99 MSRP.

What's up with the Micro Center near me? They have ZERO RTX cards, but have two different AMD 6700 XT, one water cooled 6800 XT and three different AMD 6900 XT cards. You all talk like RTX cards are easy to get at a Micro Center. I take that back they do have one RTX card, a PNY Quadro RTX 4000 Single-Fan 8GB GDDR6 PCIe 3.0 Graphics Card.

I mean really I see people on here winning multiple cards. I think you should only be allowed 1 per six months myself. Not accusing OP but just saying what do you think people do with them? Yeah some may give them to friends for cost or family members but they can get their own account and get in queues. 1 per.

At least the scalping profit is coming down. With 13% Ebay fee and Paypal fee and if you ship it maybe couple hundred dollars profit. Only one winning is Ebay.

That's another option, I didn't check seller's location to be honest. kram36 What's up with the Micro Center near me? Talking about the dude that sold a 3080 Ti FTW3 for $1600, you're absolutely right. The seller got his card at a discount to make a profit at a $1600 selling price. New elite member is an option, but isn't EVGA bucks another option? Forum Members in the associate program.

Not at all. None of my notifies have made it to the head of the queue yet. Once I was able to buy a Zotac 3080 back in November but it was stolen on the shipping

EVGA Bucks from the Associate program can't be used until 30 days after the person used your code. I got my 3080 Ti FTW3 email to purchase on 06/24 and paid full MSRP for the card with no EVGA bucks to use if you're trying to insinuate something.

Not insinuation anything, it was a legit question. I'm not an associate so I have not idea how that reward system works. I thought the associate could accumulate bucks and use them as he likes

They can be used towards the purchase on any EVGA product AFAIK. Can't use them to pay for the Tax or Shipping cost.

mlittle71 The trouble is that it's not "one per person", It is one per household. They check by address. I don't have 4 friends! Even if I did, I think they would get a little sus about me paying for all the 'friend's' cards with my one credit card!
And I get that. Believe me, I get that. I had 3 PC's that needed an RTX card. In 7 months, I've only been able to get one. One is my son's Z590 FTW project that has been waiting for a GPU for months, and I'll be lucky to find an RTX by Christmas at this rate, the other is my daughters's upgrade that is still limping along on a GTX 970. Embarassing. I too need multiple GPU's in my household. Can't get them, elite member or no. Not as long as the bulk of GPU sales continue to be online where Bots can get at them. But a couple early morning trips to Microcenter/BB would solve that if only that's where the majority of cards went rather than newegg, system bundle integrators, and here.

In person sales isn't solution at all. The 3080 Ti was sold only in person at BB stores and it has been massively scalped on eBay. Actually more than half of FE 3080 Ti stock went directly to scalpers

kram36 My post was pointed at people selling cards for a price they would lose money if they bought the card at MSRP.
Got it!.
Sir, you quoted my post first, I merely responded to you quoting my post and your response to my post. My post: https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3420976 You quoting my post: https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3420981
Your original reply to my post that quoted my post had nothing to do with the context of what I said. That's why I was confused as to why you quoted me.
I am allowed to reply back to someone that has quoted my post and made a reply on it. You were missing the point of my post, I made it clear to you.
I didn't miss the point. Your reply had absolutely nothing to do with my comment. Your reply didn't follow the context of my comment. That's what was so confusing.

Well, just as soon as you find an infallible method of discerning scalpers from legitimate gamers...

What confuses me is, scalping must actually work or they wouldn't do it. *sigh* I'm right with you man, frustrating.

tyranus7 In person sales isn't solution at all. The 3080 Ti was sold only in person at BB stores and it has been massively scalped on eBay. Actually more than half of FE 3080 Ti stock went directly to scalpers
That only works because they are a super rare commodity on shelves. Once upon a time (3 years ago) that wasn't an issue, therefore there was no scalping market. You can't bot and scalp something that your customers can just get from the store at MSRP. If there are enough there. And the only way to do that is to end websales and populate shelves until the insanity ends. There aren't enough scalpers in the world (they're not a mafia) to beat the rush of In-Person/1-Per-Customer legit buyers. And thus the scalper market dies. Because they can't bogart the supply. IF the supply is only on brick & mortar shelves, not web distributors. Drastic measures are needed now. Because it's not just hurting today's customers, it's hurting the total industry and the long term market for PC building. If you can't get a GPU to complete your system, then you aren't buying AMD's latest Processor. You aren't buying Fractal's Case. You aren't buying Corsair's memory. You aren't buying Western Digitals drives. You aren't buying EK's coolers.

Guys do yourself a favor and don't go look on eBay to see how many EVGA 30 series cards were sold yesterday unless you want to be mad. I made that mistake and yes it is maddening.

With the amount of XC3 cards EVGA has been sending out on the 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti over the FTW3 cards lately. I wonder if EVGA is trying to use these lower cost cards for people to use those wheel spin deal discount codes on? EVGA just needs to stop the wheel spin discount.

I am just wondering how many are really being sold. Looking on eBay at the 3080 you can set the page to list 200 items per page and get 8 pages. That is about 1,600 cards for the 3080 Ti it seems like a list of about 600 auctions. Scalping only works out for people if they find someone to buy at those prices.

they're being sold. filter the search by sold and completed items. there's a lot.
