So now its proven that it "Must" support more than 7, not gladly plug & play but with some settings here and there :)

But i say - why not :D - try & error is the best for learning if you dont loose a bunch of money for that shool
 
But 10 GPU´s on SR-2 that would be "HULK LIKE" if it gets to work !  Then you would say fastra 2 - byebye

Manually set the ram voltage to what ever it should be, start with CPU voltage of 1.20v manual set.
all other setting auto for now, move bclk to 160Mhz and try go to OS, if make ok stress test watch temps.
Once that checks ok move up another 10Mhz/170Mhz re-test until you find unstable, the slowly move
CPU vcore up to find new stability clock. You'll want to drop the memory to 1066Mhz for now until you find
our max bclk and voltage settings. Hope you have some good X5660 chips, the X5670's I have don't OC
very well and take a good bit of voltage to get any where with a OC. I had to start just below 1.30V to get
24x160Mhz stable for these X5670's.

Voltages look nice for that speed!

Very nice OC for under 1.30v.
The X5670's take 1.305v to do 21x182 and what I run them at for folding.
The 212's coolers keep them just below 65c at that speed at full load.
These X5670's give me up to a 24x multiplier but don't like anything above 167 bclk at 24x.
Can't get them stable above that but can drop back to 22x or 21x and go much higher with the bclk.
Its just something it just doesn't like about the 24x muti, can't seem to use 23 as it jumps right from 22 to 24x.
23x and 24x being turbo muti I guess is the reason why. I haven't really pushed those chips, but think 4.1 is tops for them.
I'd be happy with 4.2 on the 5670's, but that's not going to happen I'm pretty sure.

But only use 6x580 and 1x590, total 8 gpu :-)

 Great to hear from you robbanswe :) well it was month ago bidding also on 2 gtx 590, but the ebay seller took it back before the auction was over :(.
 
But 8 Gpu´s are really great. I bought just one gtx 295 more,.. to have a look if i can get 10 Gpus runnin well on the sr-2. 8gpu was a lil bit hard to get to run, but that was because of my "low" bios setting knowledge, if i get 10 gpus to work - i will buy another one :D there are 3 more pcie slots at the time to fill up with graphic cards :D, but because of this 5th card, i now need to "buy" a second psu -.-

But am not finish build yet :-)
I got 10 watercoolerkit for 580/590 at home and 25-30 peltiercooler so in late summer i going to fix that.

You cannot SLI more than 4 GPUs, and even 4 only works with Titans. SLI doesn't scale linearly, and diminishing return makes 8-way SLI pointless. As for 4-way 760 you'd be better of with 2-way 780Ti even if 4x760 could be made to work.

Why stop at 10? I'm sure you could get to 14 with some PCIe ribbons, case and BIOS modding.

It may be possible to pass through SLI with bleeding edge KVM/QEMU and/or some extensive driver hacking.
