Hi,

Im just new on the forums, and i from Chile, i just bought recently a Evga gtx760 2Gb Gddr5 Sc Acx , because on reviews like tomshardware, techpowerup, guru3d and others references said the Evga is a good performance bench to adquire.

But this graphic card crashes constantly on my rig , im play Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Blacklist, Call of Duty Ghosts and Batman Arkham Asylum, it crashes randomly , maybe on 5 minutes to play, or thirty minutes , or just 2 minutes since i start playing games. All of my games are originals, this means i have all of them on steam or uplay ( not craked games )..

My rig:

MB Asus M5A97 PRO
4x2 Gigas Ram ddr3 1666Mhz
Evga Gtx760 2gb sc acx
SSD adata sata3 120 Gb
PSU Toppower 600 Watts PFC modular
LG DVD+RW/CD+RW
Case Treetop Shield
Windows 7 64bits
Nvidia drivers 331.82

If you can help me on this problem, i would be appreciated.

Regards and Thanks

I would start with restore default settings for CPU, RAM or GPU if you OC something.
Than uninstall VGA drivers and clean with driver sweeper in Safe Mode and uninstall Afterburner, EVGA Precision.
Than shut down PC and check how card sit in PCI E slot and PCI E power cables.
After that I would install only graphic driver, physX and control panel, maybe some different previous driver package.
You have crashes and in 3DMark benchmarks, Unigine Heaven and any situation when usage go over 50% or only in games???

Hello and Welcome to the EVGA Forums!
Sorry No one reply here so I can try help you to solve the problem!
try re install latest Version 331.82 WHQL but you need default overclock and close EVGA Precision or Afterburner first then uninstall.
Go Windows update setting change to 'Never Check for update' then go Windows  Control Panel > Program and Feature do uninstall all NVIDIA Software and EVGA and do last NVIDIA Driver and after complete un install all clean do reboot once
After reboot do Run CCleaner do select both Cleaner and Registry.
Install Latest WHQL 331.82 do select Driver and PhysX ONLY do not install Geforce Experience that may cause crash or so and 3D Software! After complete install do reboot
Carry on install EVGA Precision or Afterburner whatever you wish! Don't forget put back running normal in Windows Update Setting so do not overlcok yet... let try test the game! Hope it should solve the problem!!

EDIT> Sorry I forget one more when you uninstall Precision when uninstall start process then it will ask you to want to save profile  'say no' not to save profile!!

That Great  No Crash so Far!!
Sorry for long delay reply here!! Huh I have zero problem with Blacklist and other games are very smooth!! Have you try restore setting in NVCP > Manage 3D Setting > Gobel Setting then hit apply and try test the game or add Blacklist.exe into Manage 3D Setting > Program setting to add Blacklist.exe should solve the problem!

I play now MOH Warfighter on GTX780 Classified.
I backed on first person shooter in last time...
I can say Adaptive Vsync is excellent option in Control Panel and very useful for some games.

i bought mine yesterday! this gtx760 sc ACX is a beast! devours bf4 on max settings ( yes on ultra)

BUT i am having issues with BF4! basically some error appears and bf4 stops working.
COD black ops runs smooth on max too. but it did freeze today tho

    Possible issues?

iv'e already run prime 95 over and hour burning and my cpu oc is fine and my 8GB OCZ reaper ddr2 are running at 1050MHz seems also fine as i played with my previous 8800gt and this did not happen on bf4!

driver issue for this card??  im with the latest 331.82! ( installed them on safe mode)

maybe my oc is bad configured?

should i really uninstall GeForce experience? i just use it to tell me if there is new drivers and installation of those.. and thats it! it did not give me issues with my 8800GT!

for 253€ this card rocks! i like it but these.... freezes and crashes on games..  i ran heaven 4.0 once or twwice and no freeze or crash..

NOW i am ALREADY aware of bf4 BAD developing...

but COD black ops freezing?  i had to reset the PC!

i have evga oc scanner whats tests you advise me to run? i ran yesterday for 10 minutes and no issue!

tho my physX 3 fluids V1 (GPU) test stops when it hits around 20000 particles..
image freezes but the time counter and frames still run! BUT with artifact scanner off it does not stop and keep running!
    what does this mean??

something is not right. what do you advise to run and FOR how long.. in order to know if it is my bad OC or my mem issue?

or maybe the games are just crappy??   xD

Yeah I recommend you uninstall Geforce Experience that may cause or freeze on some games while Geforce running but do not run with Heaven 4.0 or other benchmark! I have try install Geforce Experience once then uninstall and dislike this! Crash and freeze! When After Geforce Experience have removed then all games is good no problem! That Geforce Experience is hopeless but it good for notification update driver and other but not good for game graphic setting!!!

and my temperatures are fine under 70ºC at max stress!

i don´t understand why it is down-clocking and locking the clock at 535Mhz!  weird! very weird!  maybe i got a bios that does not let me go any further??

gonna downclock the gpu and mem a bit..

Try to reinstall driver like people explain you, unistall precision, oc scanner, driver, physX, everything, clean in safe mode with sweeper, than boot in Windows and clean with CCleaner and in Windows install last WHQL driver. Only NVIDIA Control Panel, Display driver, physX and Audio Driver. After everything finish go in NVIDIA Control Panel and under Global Settings > Power Management set Prefer Maximum Performance, under PhysX Processor set GTX760. Than install EVGA Precision and OC Scanner. In EVGA Precision Temp Target move to the end 95C and uncheck Linked option... Than in OC Scanner settings set 1800 sec because no point to test more, max temp 90C to stop test just in case and to stop if find 1 Artefact. Than increase fan speed on manual on 80-90% and start EVGA OS Scanner. Because during that test important is to see stability not performance of fan and noise level. Off course in Control Panel Power Option should be High Performance too.

Off course in Control Panel Power Option should be High Performance too.

thanks! well gonna try all that!
was just playing COD black ops and fatal error crash. but its game fault! sweet game tho! and i was playing with no oc on precision! ( this time the gpu clock did not change! ;) )

without precision this gfx gives  me already 1228Mhz boost! not bad i guess!

previously in this one i started the mission and the gpu locked at 535Mhz and guess the mem did lock too if not mistaken but still delivered and well!

either way im gonna uninstall everything and in safe mode gonna clean everything up! need to check that software driver sweeper tho!
ill check with you guys as soon as ia am finished!  thanks for the tips!

I think maybe something happen with temp and because of that card drop clock.
Max Performance can help sometimes with such things in some games but you must keep card cool and fan on proper
speed or nice fan profile and you can't leave to temp decide about clock.

    OK!
i uninstalled everything! in windows safe mode i ran clean sweep several times but windows kept trying to install standard vga display driver but i guess thats not gonna be a issue!
i even used their new driver sweeper version called "display driver Uninstaller" and it detected the old 8800 gt drivers and even LOG ME IN software drivers remains on my system!
    everything was clean! i rebooted!

installed everything from scratch with antivirus off (avira antivirus suite) and anti malware off (antimalwarebites pro)!  in fact they are still off!! LOL!!!
selected manually gtx760 as my physX processor and in 3d Control panel the energy management setting is set to MAX PERFORMANCE!

got OC scanner X and evga precision X 4.2.1 installed and ready for testing

    precision X is set
with: +40Mhz on gpu core and +500Mhz on mem with voltage target at 115% and temp target at 95ºC ( temp that it wont ever reach of course) and frame rate target is off!
BUT witch one should i prioritize? the voltage or temp?

OC scanner X set for 1800 seconds ( 30 minutes should do it) ready to stop at 90ºC or if it finds 1 artifact!
    witch test should i select?
furry E ( gpu core burner) test?

    ;)
by the way my case has 6x 120mm fans! and i have a nice fan profile set in evga precision here take a look:

at 60ºC  the fan goes to 100%  ;)  and usually keeps temp at 65ºC max!

About BSOD best way is to ask here on this forum, but they will ask you to restore factory settings
    http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/

You will describe problem and they will read file and tell you where is problem. I suppose something with graphic card but what, driver, memory...??? You Memory is overclocked..... very very high. I can exactly double less than you.
Do you test your system on reference settings. In OC Scanner  you should test
Furry E GPU burner, more test that's better, Furry E Memory 2048MB, PhysX for GPU and Tessallation + DOF

you can move that line in fine profile to be 30% fan speed until 40-45C freely.
Try something lower example +50, +200 offset... But you must be sure what happen on fabric settings, if you are not sure everything is OK with system you can't overclock because you will lose minds trying to find problem...

well gonna try to lower the oc values for now!

and i don't understand how online the reviews of this gfx card they got +100Mhz on gpu core and up to +600MHz on mem while overclocking! golden samples for reviews??
i've tested my cpu and mem with prime 95 for over and hour and nothing happenned! it went smooth!

so it is the gfx card fault!

gonna try on factory settings first! the furry E, and the furry E memory 2048MB tests! ill test physX and tessellation afterwards!

this is not lack of power because my Seasonic M12 700W PSU can give 56Amps on the 12V rails!
i'll give a feedback if it works fine on factory settings as soon the gpu burner and mem tests are complete!

factory settings are stable! nothing wrong!
    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

i tried to OC and got an error!

my mem chips on this gfx card are crap! why?

    with voltage target up to 105%;
    temp target set to 85ºC;
and with just +10Mhz on core and +200Mhz on mem i got an error on OC scanner x after a few minutes!

    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
    tryed another configuration:
    voltage target : 115%
    temp target: 95ºC

    core +0MHz
    mem: + 300Mhz

result? downlock to 535MHz and locked! have to reboot now!

    i dont understand!
i think i just gonna leave this at factory settings!  i dont know how internet reviews give this superclocked gfx card the best OC results! it's a lie!?

i am disappointed with this gfx card oc potential! this mem chips are not good? is the bios fault?

maybe because im at pci-e 2.0 instead of pci-e 3.0?

according to kepler bios tweaker 1.26 the max GPU boost clock on this gfx is set to 1293Mhz!
maybe the mem boost settings on bios are crippled?

     what i am doing wrong!

if anyone has an idea PLEASE do tell me! i give up!
my 8800GT SC was a beast at OC!

I doubt it's because PCI-E 2.0.... You know reviews talk about sample they got.
When you read reviews important is to search official result, fan noise, temperature and what they say about design, PCB, mostly I can see from pictures and than when you buy card important is to got everything same as in review from hardware side, OC is something else. I doubt your card can't OC nothing, maybe is problem with this driver you can try for month or two. Superclock cards and Classified are fabric OC almost as we pull from Fermi and Cayman and Cypress with software.
How much you can increase voltage with Precision...???
Don't gave up so fast, you can look on overclock.net about GTX760, and about voltage controller inside, maybe people found some way to increase voltage more.

Try to increase voltage in EVGA Precision and set +50/+100 power target leave on 100% and try some 3DMarks, Unigine Heaven
For memory you can start NVIDIA Inspector and leave cursor on GDDR5 few seconds, don't move... you should see memory manufacturer...

Have you gtx 760 dual bios if yes try with 2 bios, I had crash with mine and problem solved in desinstalant geforce experience and drivers passing on the 2 bios and lowering my oc of 4.8 a 4.5.
I confirm oc with terrible power target 115%, 100% gpu clock, mem clock 500 1320 mhz.
for me the problem is solved I hope that my experience can help you

i did not buy the dual bios version ( maybe i should have..)
i dont have nvidia experience installed anymore and installed everything fresh yesterday after using driver sweeper in safe mode!

now..  I Got Nvidia inspector and oh my.. what a surprise...

i´ve got SK Hynix mems and NOT samsung MEM chips as i expected!  -.- (seriously i was expecting samsung mems)

and you can see in nvidia inspector that by the factory bios setting i am using overclock performance level 3 ( P0) witch should take me to 1358Mhz according to kepler bios tweaker readings..... but never mind that!

i'm not sure i'll even try to oc the mem on this by 1MHz even .... NO wonder evga did not factory OC'ed these mems! they only focused oc on the gpu clock!
why they did not oc these mems?  CAUSE they suck? maybe the bios is locking the frequency to 3004MHz?
OR maybe it´s the driver! i don't know anymore! maybe if i had pci-e 3?

oh and according to kepler bios tweaker my fan is locked at 70% max so before gaming i manually put it on evga precision at 100% witch gives me 2880RPM! (noisy but efective) i dont mind the noise!

about voltage this gfx goes up to 1200mV @ 1228Mhz gpu core!  so i dunno how much voltage i can increase! how much should i increasE? Precision and nvidia inspector only let me increase 12mV max!
by the way according to gpu-z my asic quality is 80.4%!

PS: games like stalker: shadow of Chernobyl and cod : black ops keep crashing my drivers as their stop responding but their recover after a brief freeze! dunno why this happens. game does not crash but sucks and spoils my game experience.

this usually only happens with unstable gfx oc! and mine is with evga settings!  -.-  these 331.82 drivers are very buggy. cant believe how stable my 8800gt was..  i miss it...

i am thinking in symptoms of a weak psu...

could be my psu the guilty one?  :\

i have an oc'ed CPU plus this SC gtx760 ... plus wireless mouse and keyboard via usb plus the G7 mousse battery recharging via usb...
so...  could this all be just.. a old psu unit fault?
hard to believe my Seasonic M12 700W cant handle this but.....   the games freezing... and that BSOD yesterday in the middle of a burning test....  sure are suspicious..

I thought to ask you yesterday about that(power supply) when I saw how you push power target on 115%.
I finished both black ops last week, few times, my driver never stop responding and successful recover...
Tell me one thing... Can you play all games, stability test and everything else on stock settings...
Maybe that's bad luck with OC and chip is stable only on fabric clocks.

the stability test went fine without oc in precision!
with oc..  i got that BSOD after 15minutes burning!

serious SAM 2nd encounter did not freeze, NOR did UT3 so far! witch gets more confusing!

but games like stalker and black ops freeze all the time.. so i press crtl+alt+del and go to desktop AND as soon i get to deskop the game resumes instantly and it does not crash!

in BF4.. cant remember..  but its a buggy game either way!  :)

when i finished the games today i noticed the warning signal (yellow ! TRIANGLE SIGN) on the icon tray that suddenly vanishes BUT i know why it appears..  the driver stops responding and recovers.

but all of this happens in STOCK settings! (evga sc factory settings)
So .. some games are more demanding than others??

i dont even try to oc it in precision anymore!
i am starting to doubt my psu.  i just do not know anymore...
o guess my psu despite its power cannot deliver stable voltage to the components?

i am confused..  it's and old 80+ 700W psu! seasonic brand of course and very expensive back in 2008!

bad luck? i dont want to even think in that! how can i have bad luck with an EVGA gfx card?  its like having bad luck trying to push a Ferrari to its limits! cant HAPPEN!

i dont even want to think that evga messed this gpu to the very edge of stability that i cant even  raise the mem just +200MHz????

Your PSU is probably fine, it's old but OK PSU.
Processor, motherboard and DDR2 is little older...
Bad things, companies as NVIDIA sit on money, customers can't play games normal... :)
I know how you feel, I payed extra price for Classified models and I can OC.... like all people with Elpida memory.
You don't need to lose fight, will be better...
Do you install new fresh OS soon...??? Because I have no idea how older system can influence on such newer graphic card stronger than GTX580 and completely new generation with GPU Boost 2.0.
Should work fine, maybe not to chase score and overclock as people 2nd, 3rd and 4th Intel Core Processors but you should play games without crashing drivers...

i know i need a new motherboard and NEW cpu  :) my ram is old but is good!
going to windows 8?  no way in hell!  i wont even touch it with a stick! xD

hate what they did in windows 8!
but i am aware windows may have some...  influence on all of this but thats what drivers for windows 7 suppose to do : to grant better stability and improvement for that OS!

there must be some software for i to control the W my system is sucking up! so i can say for sure it is not my PSU!
