basically I use the preset, the one where the lights turn on as you type. but when I put it to sleep and wake up the computer, it gets reset to the default. Is it possible to change this?

I'm getting rid of this thing. what's the point of settings if you have to set it everytime you turn your computer on?

Most likely you need to have the program running at system start for an effect like this. I assume you can save different profiles to the key board. It might be helpful if you at least gave the model of the keyboard and basic system information. Otherwise, it is just guessing.

Make sure the services for the software are set to automatic start in the windows service management and see if they are included with the boot programs. You may have to go thru the advanced settings for your windows power options to make sure they are setup correctly. I divorced all my rgb from the rest of my rig and make it its own thing to avoid windows being involved cause this is the kinda crap you get. I used 2 of these wired together: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LYLJT6T Now, you can plug your fans into that also, but i didnt, i use: https://www.amazon.com/Lamptron-Speed-Controller-Channel-Black/dp/B002R84J28 My fans are high speed and i didnt want them crippled at all by the gelid. That way i have hardware control for everything and the software is taken out of the equation entirely, other than the ram, although the ram software that came with it works well. I do let the GPU and the CPU AIO work on there own and match them up and i havent had any problem with that so far, but the AIO i can take control of most likely, the gpu i dont know.

I have the same issue, Z20, latest firmware, on profile 1 its custom layer and on every restart / power on going to default mode lightning and if change to another profile and return then to 1 its ok just. Another issue with this firmware its disconnected random. Before that firmware was great...i dont change anything on my pc (its in the same usb for 6 months) , its just firmware fault.. Later EDIT: If you delete custom profile, apply, restart Pc, create another one, restart pc, its work !!! Later : Nope, doesnt work... Why not give us the opportunity to downgrade the firmware ? I believe that every user has the right to choose the firmware version that works for him.

Nice try, but yeah its got to be the firmware then if thats the case. My z10 has no problem remembering the settings etc.... thankfully. Did you check the windows services and make sure anything it may need is running on auto for boot? Maybe got to the shortcut properties and make sure it has admin checked off on execute, that may help it get past some issues. You can use compatibility too, while you are there, if you want and see if it helps.

My custom settings for my Z20 Keyboard stay in place on every boot-up and waking from sleep. I do have the Unleash software set to start with Windows. I also do not use Windows "Fast Startup" as that can & will cause varying issue's.
