So this makes 3 days of straight 3897 drops. I'll be waiting for those couple of dudes next week who complain about 3898 dropping instead of 3897.
Not complaining... but hoping 3898 makes some moves today... i'm less than 25 seconds away. 
So that makes you about 9:04:54 for the 3898. I'm 9:04:51, so we'll probably get our hybrids on the same drop!
Hopefully in the next 1-2 weeks!

I really can't get behind mining at all. All that math, all those algorithms, all that power usage, all those raw materials spent...for what? just to line some pockets. If only there were other distributed computing applications that the miners could put their efforts towards that actually help the world. Like F@H for example. If people found a way to get paid for doing F@H or SETI research, both of which can actually help the world (and there are many others out there), I'd be totally ok with it. Why can't they merge the two things?
I mine with my current GPU in my gaming rig when I'm not using it and with my HTPC that's had an almost 3 year old 1070 that I bought cuz it was running my old 2600 inside it. What I earn from it pays for gas for my commute and for the internet at home. Every little bit helps in these trying times.
No worries. I'm not judging you or anything. I just find it frustrating that it is something that could most certainly be made to benefit the world AND help pay for your gas.

The 780 will not be a very good mining card because of it's power draw. High power draw with a low hashrate might just cost you in electricity bills.

I think the bottom line is that there really is just that supply is not enough. Scalpers are ****s that are taking advantage of the situation and miners are buying up the inflated priced GPUs as well because they know eventually it will pay it off. They can also sell off the card at the inflated prices when they're through with it, especially when the mining boom dies down.

Yeah but that's the thing: it won't die down. People were saying the same thing years ago and it actually got worse. So no, mining, just like scalping now, is here to stay now and won't die down. If anything, and again like scalping, it will just get worse and worse again and again. Until something serious is done mining and scalping will keep eating and controlling 50%+ or OUR GPU MARKET year after year...

I think there was a earlier 1 (just one) drop that I can remember (once in a blue moon which I cant remember when) . Seriously dont think these drops have enuf quantity they may be more symbolic to show that all SKU's are being considered. Either way at this rate it would be apt to rename "FTW3 Gaming" to "Forever Waiting Game"  .

Please PM me with what it is I don't understand that is exactly how it benefits the world to have all that mathematical power go only to a financial benefit and not also be used for helpful distributed computing research. Here's a paper from 2014 suggesting as such and I still don't see it prevalent.
