I missed the shuffle today, I got my covid vaccine this morning and then spent the day out working in the field. I'm about 0/14 in the shuffle it amazes some people "win" more than once. At least they stopped sending oh you were so close email and now have just turned into a straight rejection letter. I'm still 54 mins away on the xc3 ultra, but none have dropped since December now, so I'm in the same boat as all the other XC3 folks wishing I would have signed up for the FTW card at the same time.

Dabadger84 I blame all of them. lol Scalpers for making the situation worse, miners for making the situation worse (and both of them for making supply lower & demand higher), and NVidia for not producing a proper amount of cards before launch due to a rushed launch, not anticipating the demand, and further FUBARing it by not ramping production before launch either. Let us not forget, NVidia said they were ramping up production in August - this is something that "normally" happens THREE MONTHS before a new GPU architecture is released. They did this on purpose because they were either too stupid, or too clueless to figure out what most of us knew was coming, unprecedented demand due to a combination of factors (everyone being home because of the pandemic, the performance making cards like the 3080 very desirable for the price, etc etc). At the end of the day, there's plenty of blame to go around, and since science shows most people aren't happy unless they have something to complain about, step right up, take your pick and NOMNOMNOM that irritation. Good luck tomorrow everyone, I'm gonna shut down & see if my back is in a good enough mood for me to operate & get those thermal pads under the backplate & test'er out.
Its supply and demand. Nvidia knew the issue from the second they used large dies on a poor yielding manufacturing node in an environment with limited resources. They released a paper launch anyway giving high hopes to people instead of continuing production on more stable nodes with smaller dies. Its hard to blame AMD for shifting all production to CPUs and consoles when the majority of gamers do not buy their Gpus. Scalpers do not cause supply and demand issues but are only a symptom of the price being lower than its demanded value. They are only more pronounced now that AMD and NVIDIA have largely cut off older die production. Bc there are not many older gpus being produced in the $200-$500 range, demand is shifting more towards the <200 and >500 range resulting in further demand on the 30 series. Large miners upgrade every year, not just when crypto goes up. They either replace thekr existing systems or add on depending on the price. They create contracts with manufacturers and AIBs to buy cards in BULK at a given price. Nvidia knows the demand of this group and when it can be expected to grow given their contact with them. No industrial size miners are buying the 3090s lol. Small miners mostly do not make up a large portion of purchases bc of limited capital and power requirements. They have to go through normal channels of purchasing so most end up buying cards at Scalper pricing. From those i know, this group buys about as many gpus as individual system builders. Everyone who kept an eye on crypto expected growth this year in mining which nvidia knew to a degree as well. I think i remember several tech tubers making comments about this midway last year. I don't like the situation and I know they can't ramp production up in an instant but Nvidia knew these issues when choosing samsung. I made the mistake of thinking I could just wait for production so i didn't enter the queue system until dec. I'm not about to blame people for trying to make money where the supply isn't meeting the demand or people having preexisting contracts with Nvidia/AIBs. Sure you can blame the AIBs for taking these contracts but in business you dont tend to turn down easy money from multi year partners. What could have been done differently? More people could have been buying AMD over the years so in situations like this they would have bought more 7nm cap at higher prices. Nvidia could have released a smaller Ampere in 2018 on 12nm with smaller dies since Turing was awful value. They could have rereleased this in 2020 on a smaller node while keeping the 12nm production. Even as things are, they could have just kept turing in production to fill demand but they chose to cut it in order to increase profit margins on the 30 series.

Huwee Bummed that the XC's have not be dropped in a real long time. I guess I should have done the FTW's when I did my picks last September. I will keep on hoping they start to get dropped. Good luck everyone that has not been able to get one to this point.
Still in a far better situation than me. Got 20+ hours to go in the closest que (3885), no sign of them getting close to dropping anytime soon.

Babelfish2001 Enewt, how do you calculate the delta in time? Is there a reference you are using? Like do you know how many people are between the current position and 9/22/20 at noon for the 3885 or 3897? Thanks!
The delta in time is from the prior report. I don't count people...just time along each queue's timeline. I hope that helps.

philipma1957 I missed it today. I am 4 / 9 but I was cheated out of 1 card. Went to buy it with more than 2 hours on the timer and they said no stock. I also did not buy a 5800x cpu. Better luck tomorrow .
Agree with the CHEATED part 100%. If you get picked in the shuffle, they should NOT sell out to YOU. They shouldn't PICK more people than they have cards for. That's high rubbish if I ever saw it! That said, I still haven't got my email yet, one way or another. Does that mean there's still a chance? My guess is no.
This can happen?!?! I haven’t gotten my email yet for the 3751 I’m in queue for but I’d be pretty upset if I got the email and wasn’t able to buy it.

kraade Used 3080s on ebay now over 2k, might be time to sell and wait one the Que , lol
Its amazing how many stupid people there are out there. For that price you can get a 3090 no problem. All day I can get a 3090 for $2000 on offer up or Facebook marketplace.
The 2k price is for a 3080 though, not a 3090 so those posts are actually make a HEFTY profit for the scalper.
Let's use the 3975 at $1700 as an example since that SKU is actually moving. When you add 7.5% sales tax + the 5% seller fee on FB marketplace, you're in it for almost $1930 of that $2000 which is basically cost. A margin like that on 2k is the scalper equivalent of dumpster diving, so it's more likely someone just looking to get their money back, or it's a fake ad. FB marketplace has it's fair share of those. It also doesn't have the buyer protections that eBay has. I would be weary of dropping that much cash there.

Not sure if this is even allowed but thought I would ask. Any one out there with a close XC3 que time want to trade For a FTW 3080.
My FTW is about 4 hours away from the current last known time on the update sheet. I had originally thought I had signed up for both but I guess not. Just the FTW.
I’d much prefer the XC3 due to card size.
I know I might be reaching but anyone interested?

Hahaha!! Thanks for the tease, lol. Yes, we would love some more numbers! Also, do you recommend a particularly good thermal pad? I watched a video about replacing pads to lower temps on a 3070 as well, and he says you have to do it every three months if you're heating up your RAM a lot, like mining, for example. Are there better thermal pads that last longer than three months without starting to get brittle and cracking?

It really stinks that the best way to guess how close we are in queue by comparing our notify times with the last email sent. There's zero visibility into incoming stock or the number of people ahead of us. 30 secs away in the queue could be a day or a year depending on either of these factors. This is why I highly suggest people get any card they can for the time being, then wait for the one they really want. Unfortunately, this leads to people buying cards they do not ultimately want and taking them out of the hands of others who do. Long story short, this really sucks for everyone.

The 3897 and 3755 both have had enough drops/data available to give us a rough forecast. I've posted a few graphs showing this. Some cards are close to having enough data points to have a model while most are completely unpredictable.

I sure hope so. I'm signed up for EIGHTEEN (18!) EVGA cards in their queue, several of which were on launch day or the day after. I have yet to receive a single yes, and it's quite disheartening.
oh wow Ok, so those that signed up late (January) have no hope for cards from this queue system. One less thing for me to keep an eye on... ... until they add some new types of cards! (3080ti especially)

Okay, but he's asking for the 3985, so are you saying no as well? Additionally, I agree we can get a rough forecast from the data, but there are just too many factors. With Lunar New Year upon us, or what if they suddenly pump out cards in a month, ANYTHING could happen. Maybe they'll announce the 3080 Ti and then demand for the currently available 3080s will plummet. We just can't know.

You should still get cards from they queue, just won't be till well after the grandfathered pre-tariff price date of April 16th. Those that receive notifications after April 16th will pay the new post-tariff price.

saygin123 hello guys i registered for 3985 on 14 october at 4.45 pm. can anybody predict my estimated wait time?
It’s going to sound like a joke, but literally no one can.. (with any guaranteed accuracy, that is)
The 3897 and 3755 both have had enough drops/data available to give us a rough forecast. I've posted a few graphs showing this. Some cards are close to having enough data points to have a model while most are completely unpredictable.
3895 is an easy one since it has not had any drops. It is either going to have notifies canceled when the card is discontinued or you are looking at 12 months+. I dont think it should be considered a card anyone will get.
