I don't think anyone is remotely happy with the current situation across all tech ... Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX ... it's all a giant crap show with defective supply chains and a broken world groaning under the strain of COVID. No excuses, just the pile dung we're all in right now. That being said, EVGA is the only one that's tried to do something. As disappointing and limited as it may be, it's something better than any other vendor is doing.

Everyone's disappointment, frustration, even anger is valid. But it's also valid to recognize that EVGA is trying to do at least something different.

I also agree with this statement. it sucks that people cant get stuff but thats across the board with all new tech at the moment. they can only give us cards as quickly as nvidia supplies them and right now nvidia's production speed is the issue and the fact that they are selling directly to bitcoin mining groups

Apple managed to release the iPhone no problems.

This happens all the time, the PS5 people need to remember the same with the PS4 (and PS3). Early adopters pay the price in money and frustration. What is driving me crazy is that it is impossible to get any NVIDIA card, I have a machine with no GPU because I can't get a decent card for a decent price; even used cards are driving a premium; and what is the point on spending too much on a last gen card when I'm going to get a 3080. If I spend $400 on a card to tide me over until I get a 3080 then I'm paying scalper prices already.

I honestly would pay $100 to move my queue from 3881 to 3885 at this point.

I think most of the issues boil back to the foundries and that this is just a big year for new chips; and the one to two foundries that create these nano-meter wafers just can't keep up. New CPUs (red and blue team), New Video Cards (Red, Blue and Green team), New cellphones, and two new generation consoles; toss in a plague and that about dose it... Constrictions on supply all over the world with demand super high.

To be clear it was about 5% of their stock according to the company.

Consoles do not have the time constraints that GPUs have.

I, of course, can only speculate but my gut is telling me that the "non-cellphone" companies paid the price and were placed on the backburner; as prob the phone companies paid a premium to get their chips first for the holiday season. Just my thoughts anyway.

Though I can easily believe all the rumors that say Samsung's 8nm manufacturing process is horrendous and the yields are laughable compared to TSMC and Intel.

True, now add in a million (or two? or three?) for two new mainstream, super high demand, consoles both utilizing graphic chips as well.

No effect.

Apple makes its CPUs. Broadcom and NXP supply the 5g chips. Nvidia is using Samsung.

EDIT: It worked the 5th time around.

RE: 3080 XC3 Ultra, I'm at 9/18, 6:21 AM PT and I have NOT received notice yet.
So this queue is sitting right between 6:02 - 6:209/18/2020 6:21:43 AM PTNo
I'm also queued at same time (6:21) for 3080 FTW3 Ultra (10G-P5-3897-KR) and not there yet either but this one is probably obvious.

I’m at 5:45ish AM Pacific and haven’t gotten a notification yet. What makes you think it’s up to 6:02?

It's really depressing because supposed "restocks" at Best Buy and Newegg are still being bought out in literal seconds, mostly by bots, months after launch. And the only way to counter that (other than enforcing stronger protections on marketplaces, as if retailers care at all) is to flood the market with so much supply that botting and scalping is no longer worth it. Unless Samsung and Nvidia's manufacturing process completely changes, there's no indication that Nvidia will be able to do that next month or three months from now or five months from now. They just don't make enough cards or care to stop bots from buying them.

Feelin deflated by the HC delay... Feels worse that Jacob dangled a "first week of December for those who got on the notify list" and then it gets delayed with no ETA. Thought I'd have myself a nice lovely Christmas extravaganza with some Cyberpunk... It's like the gut punch of launch day all over again

I suspect Nvidia’s response will be to raise their prices next go around seeing what the scalpers are selling them for. It’s getting ridiculous. The GPU industry needs some competition
