Absolutely fabulous here in Ireland no rain for a few days and I was out for a walk this AM and the birds got their own COD going on, quite entertaining.
Have a super weekend everyone. 





It's raining here, but I prefer gloomy days over sunshine lol.


Irish weather would suit you down to the ground, its rains an awful lot here and when we do see a bit-een of Sun sure we go Cracked! lol

If they already discontinued RTX 3060 chip and new chip will be available only in May... not so good news for queue folks.
As for "modify chip to stop mining" - that is expected move. Nvidia want miners to use CMP instead gaming cards. Why? Because CPM cards will become pumpkins after next cryptocurrency crash, while gaming cards can be sold to gamers and will compete with new cards.


I do my best to take my own cynicism with a grain of salt, but I think you're quite right.  For nVidia it's a win-win-win: appear to be the champion of gamers; make bank on mining cards; not compete with secondary GPU market when miners sell-off cards.  Just like before, is nVidia only focused on Eth?  Because there are other alt-coins that may take up the slack that currently aren't limited by the current 3060 restrictions.

AIO coolers for GPUs aren't that much better than aircooling as long as the case is well ventilated.  Corsair's HydroX configurator is super easy to use for planning your build specific to your case/mobo/GPU.  A GPU only loop would not be that expensive.


This is most definitely not the case. Look at the 6x00 XT Strix LC, 30xx hybrid (KPE especially) and temps are WAY lower than air, even with just a 240mm rad. I've tested every single 3090 and not one comes close to the FTW3 hybrid or KPE.
 
Hardware Unboxed found the Strix LC to be ~10C cooler with its 240mm rad (not even push/pull) than the best 3-fan coolers on 6000 series.

Yesterday we had queue opening and drop of GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA HYDRO COPPER GAMING(24G-P5-3989-KR). Thank you to all of you who shared their info!
Now we have an idea of what the queue looks like. First, we can make graph how queue grow over time:

Also we can see how rate(how many people sign up for queue per second) changes over time:

Doesn't look consistent, does it? This is because we don't have enough time resolution: when difference between timestamps 1 second it does not mean 1 second. First timestamp may be captured right before value of seconds changed, second timestamp may be captured right after.
So, lets remove such close intervals:

Now graph looks more consistent. According this data, rate start declining after 1:30.

Now for the interesting part we have to wait another drop.

How to help collect data:

We collect not only time stamp, but sequential ID too that allow to figure out how many peoples in queue. To find this ID:
 
1) Open myNotify page: https://www.evga.com/community/myNotifies.asp
2) Make right-click on "Remove Notify" button, then in pop-up menu and select "Inspect Element"(for Firefox, other browsers has something similar).
3) Find removeNotify("<and copy text from here>");
