Oh, wow, throwback...I remember reading about that years ago. I remember that...I loved that story and reading about some of the other behind the scenes stories (e.g., the fraud behind the McDonald's Monopoly game...they made a documentary out of that one).

If I remember back correctly the McDonald's Monopoly thing was somehow there were people that had access to the crazy rare pieces and they were feeding those to family member who all of a sudden "Won!"... wow what luck.

Tis a barren GPU wasteland out there.  Beyond a random single card drop here and there and the NewEgg shuffle there are just no cards out there.  Better hope you live near a Microcenter.

I sold my 3080 since i finally got the notification for 3090 xc ultra hybrid but after a quick research i found too many post complaining about 3090 xc ultra s  performance.Some people getting lower benchmark scores than 3080 ftw3 ultra. Is this card really that bad in terms of performance?

waiting since 10/29 for my notification on the black RTX 3070 but at this I am this close to simply taking my name off the list and using that money I would have used for a card for other things I need in life. I feel bad for those that need the card because personally it was always a want and not a need. I just can't believe 4 months in and I am still waiting. Good Luck to others because I am bowing out since honestly I don't need it

My situation is, back on 9/16 signed up for RTX 3080 gaming, still using a GTX 1080 it was "a want", fast forward to November 27th GTX 1080 dies, the gpu market goes belly up cant get a hold on any descent gpu performance or price to replace the 1080. Borrowing my brother's old GTX 960 2gb to get by..... No store close enough to have a chance grab something ,all online retailers sell out instantly when stock comes in. Today still in the same boat... If my GTX 1080 didn't die, waiting would have not been that big of a deal.

Only around 2 and a half minutes to go on the 3898, which is the card I actually want, so I'm hoping that the next real drop for that SKU will get me over the line.

I guess I'm waiting for the 40 series, I up-grade my gaming rig between, 5 and 10 years, and only go through EVGA on the GPU, and Asus with the Mobo. Just personal, preference. I hope nividias next moves frees up the graphics cards.

Or maybe the 30 Super series.  I hope that Nivida does the same thing to all the SKUS that they are doing to the 3060 and it works.
