If you live in southern California go to the diamond district in LA, especially one of the stores upstairs you're not going to find a better deal.

Someone mentioned earlier about getting one at Microcenter, I stopped by to pick up the airpods I ordered for someone for christmas (they are/were on sale for $100) and there was a line around the store for 5000 series AMDs and GPUs (didn't catch if it was 3000 nVidia or AMD) but this was at like 11am, so 2 hours after they opened...

Yeah that's pretty rough. Unless I knew I had a real shot I don't think I'd wait at Microcenter for too long. EVGA queue and F5 from home is where it's at for me. No MC near me though. EDIT: I don't know if they still have crazy CPU deals like they used to but I have driven to 2 different ones in NY just to score CPUs for myself and friends for super cheap in the past. Plus it's cool that a retail store would stock all the PC parts they do. Even the small stuff like fans and cables. It's just too far for me, like 2+ hours away.

So it wasn't until recently that I worried about CPU deals so I never paid attention (I used to work for a company with a blue logo that makes CPUs) so I just bought them from our internal store for pretty cheap...but I left there 2.5 years ago. When the the 10series intel chips came out and the 9900k got discounted to $300 I bought one of them and microcenter (and sold the 8700k that I bought on my last day at my old job hahaha) and that should last me a good few years.

Giving up on the 3070 bc I actually NEED a GPU now but I did just snag a 2060 non super new, with enewt's code! Not the biggest card ever but he'll it's better than nothing, it'll last me til 3080 Ti time at least. I'll be removing myself from the 3751 queue now. Thanks to everyone for helping me stick it through!

I got the 3090 FE for about $1600 including tax. EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra with an associate's code negates my tax and keeps it to $1800 so about $200 diff. If I was sent a 3080 FTW3 Ultra notification, I might be swapping down to it and sell the 3090 FE. I guess I'm going to keep the 3090 FE. Good luck to whoever's next in line after me lol.

Finally got my notification, but I was actually able to snag a 3090 FE a month ago from BestBuy. Contemplating if I should go sell the FE and make the 3090 FTW3 Ultra purchase, or just stick with my FE and pass on the FTW3 Ultra. Got less than 5 hours left to decide lol.

That is a totally rational decision. I hope the FE continues to work out for you.
I'm planning on keeping my 3070 as a backup. I have a 1060 and 1080.
