At this point in the game those KR queue times are useless unless 3090. Jacob stated from now on all cards will be LHR models with the exclusion of the 3090. So anyone expecting a KR model isn't getting one. Not sure if those that elected to remain in a KR queue are now automatically moved to the KL queue at their initial sign up time or if they are now just stuck in a queue that will no longer move and be cardless for eternity. That's something those people will have to take up with CS.

Nope, they remain in the KR queue. Hence the "we strongly suggest you don't do this" message that came up in the email, and again on the website as a popup when they switched. Not really a CS issue when you've been warned by literally everybody that you're making a huge mistake.

So it's the eternity queue that from now on is moving nowhere like I said. I also wasn't meaning to take it up with CS as a gripe or something and was meaning instead to "confirm" if they are stuck at the now never moving KR queue and not being moved to KL. Which I'm pretty sure as you mentioned they were told this in the email that was telling them about the auto move to KL queue and the fact it's not recommended to remain in the KR queue. It made no difference to me one way or the other on the ones that I was being moved on. Therefore I really didn't pay much attention after a certain spot in that email and canned it. I'm using my cards for the reason they are made and it sure isn't mining.

Well, right after the KL version showed up, I clicked the button to keep a couple of the cards I wanted in the KR category. A couple days later i got the 3070 KR notification and went ahead paid for that one. The rest have since stopped moving so I guess that it paid off for me VERY early to opt back to KR. the other KR cards will never come. I would really like to have the q list exactly the way it is now, I am so used to looking for my cards where they are now.

Lately Amazon's been having an influx of EVGA 3080 ti cards (not a ton but around 10-20 per day) just don't understand why they wouldn't fill their queue requests first. Since they're selling at the not-quite-as-insanely-inflated "MSRP" of $1399 I can only assume they're getting them from EVGA.

The queue is just a nicety. They have obligations with the big retailers first. Those relationships are much more important that the queue for their company. If you are talking about the 3rd party scalpers. They got those through nefarious back alley deals with SIs, wholesalers, retailers, or run their own bots.

Getting in a queue this late your probably looking at the 4000 series being sold before you get a notify. All EVGA cards sold by Amazon are botted to no end. You don't stand a chance as a general customer of Amazon.

If this is the case someone in EVGA finance has to be silently screaming him/herself to sleep and cursing the dealmakers. No way these obligations make as much money for EVGA than if they just sold them themselves and cut out the middle man. These deals must be costing them millions.

AOVXU I have a Ryzen 3950x with 1000w psu and 16 Gigz of ram will 16 Gigz be fine for the 3080 Ftw ultra ?
What speed and timings for the RAM? Above 3200 MHz and CAS latency 16 or lower should be fine. No point in getting anything worse than that when you're already invested in a high-end system.

They are a long-existing company and they are playing the long game. Right now, they could certainly make more money selling direct to consumers. It has not been this way in the past though, and it will likely not be this way in the future.

They don't make as much money RIGHT NOW selling to retailers and wholesalers rather than us directly. In a normal market, the retailers and wholesalers are their bread and butter. Should they give up on them and sell just to us directly and then when the market normalizes go bankrupt?

My first EVGA card was bought at Best Buy. I wanted a PNY but they were all sold out. I figured that the EVGA was a budget brand but I needed a card so I took a chance. 20 years later, still buying EVGA cards. Imagine trying to get market share selling only from their website!

The bulk of their revenue comes from these contracts. Unless things have changed, these contracts are part of the contract agreement to be an AIB for NVIDIA, AMD is similar. Most AIBs don't do direct individual sales anymore.

I think the KR is a dead SKU. People might get one on an RMA but being sold again, I highly doubt. Straggler Monday for sure , hope you see some movement tomorrow!
