JoergF Folks, don't despair, there is light at the end of the tunnel. As far as I can see in the price comparisons, prices seem to be dropping in the EU for the first time in weeks. The 6700XT has made a start and is currently available for a still expensive 800 EUR. A month ago, however, it was over 1000 EUR. That goes through all models. The RTX2070 has dropped from 1400 EUR to 1000 EUR. I can't predict the future, but if this continues, it may at least return to the slightly inflated (but affordable) prices of 2020 by winter 2021. We probably won't see list prices again for the foreseeable future.
What is also noticeable, the lowest prices (if one can speak of "low" at all) are offered by the scalpers on Ebay. Which leads me to believe that they are working with higher prices than the established distributors and are dumping the cards quickly before the prices drop further. These folks are usually well informed and see trends early.
Perhaps saturation is slowly setting in, possibly all mining farms are now full with RTX and XT cards, spare capacity at chip factories has finally kicked in after months, shipping routes are stabilizing (possibly due to lower Covid numbers), and mining locks are making further RTX purchases unattractive. Admittedly, my crystal ball is not very reliable in this regard and the reasons are certainly more complex. But the observable prices are clear.
Everyone has to decide for themselves when their personal pain threshold has been reached; that's not up to me. Therefore, I cannot and should not encourage anyone to hold out. But at least this positive trend from the other side of the pond I wanted to share with you.
I have a feeling more and more miners are buying less cards due to dropping profitability as they prepare for the changeover to ETH 2.0, and even if that doesn't come soon, ASIC's are on the horizon if it doesn't. I think miners are sitting back waiting to see what happens right now. You can see it in the used market on eBay. 1080 Ti's were going for $900 to a little over $1,000 recently. Today, you'll be lucky to get over $800 for one.
Crazy, I am actually seeing 3070 Ti listings on ebay that are pretty close to MSRP.

Thanks, I spent a whole five minutes on the sig and I'm quite proud of it. Lol I wear the red badge of Spam with pride. 😄 TheRealMikeVan Lol BYG, just saw your new siggy and I like it "Professional Spammer with a PHD in Spamology & The Illogical Logic of Spam." Do you want me to go back and mark your comments as spam for you?? ;) Also, let me ask everyone here a question: Would you rather see tiny drops (of maybe a few seconds of movement) every single day? Or larger drops (relatively larger - minutes of movement) every say, two weeks or a month? Assuming with the latter it would be a significant amount of minutes. Just curious if the constant reminder of "yes, these SKUs are all moving" every day or a once in a while "dang, that was a (relatively) large drop!" would be more reassuring and make you feel better about the queue. Although speaking of that, it felt like a pretty big drop today! Congrats on all of you who got your cards at long last :)

kibagami Gentlemen, Am I missing something here? I saw some 6/10/21 people getting their notification emails for admittedly another SKU, but I'm a 6/7/2021 peep... Is there some kind of secret handshake I should know, or did the 3080 Ti's all go poof and gone immediately? 12G-P5-3967-KR 6/7/2021 7:57:40 PM PT No I won't even get into the long queue for the 3080 SKUs as shown below:
10G-P5-3897-KR 12/6/2020 6:15:33 PM PT No 10G-P5-3895-KR 12/6/2020 6:13:19 PM PT No Time to wait some more... I'm not a "new member" either, I just never post in the forums. I've been buying EVGA products since 2006.
I think perhaps you're mistaken; 3967 opened on 6/3 (for "Elites") so if you are indeed on 6/7 you have a long wait ahead. 6/10 was when the 3070 Ti queue opened.

Might be scams. Looking at sold listing, they're hovering between $1,200 and $1,300 typically.

Even that, after taxes, ends up only a few hundred more than the cost on EVGAs website. I see a Gigabyte Eagle one selling for $980. Again, these products are already overpriced, and I still wouldn't buy, but compared to cards going at triple their MSRP, could things actually be getting better? Maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up :P.

The 70/80 Ti are fairly bad value so it shouldn't be too surprising if they're near MSRP. Especially since one of the main groups of people aren't that interested in them aka miners.

TheRealMikeVan The kerbs are brutal, but at least I don't have to worry about damaging my car ;) But really, the game looks AMAZING. I ran it in benchmark mode and I was sitting between 220 and 240 FPS on 2K with the highest settings I can. When I moved from Playstation 4 Pro to my PC with F1, I could actually feel and see the difference in my performance just based off of the framerate. It was SIGNIFICANTLY easier to hit the apexes and judge my braking points. :D #NoRagrets[sic]
Me thinks you need a Reveb G2. If your wife notices it, tell her you’re keeping it for me while I wait my card from the queue. The perpetual “next week” should be good for that one too. 🤣

Well, I've not seen anything going for close triple it's MSRP in the new side in a while. Hell, I would say most everything is around double, or less right now. The 3070 Ti isn't a very compelling product TBH. It's not a great option for mining ETH and for gamers, it offers little over the 3070. So that could be why it's only going for a few hundred over MSRP right now. This could be a good sign. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Perhaps the miners aren't actively buying as much, or the scalpers have run out of gamers willing to pay the absurd markups... or perhaps it's both. It's a welcome decline either way.

Surprised at this as the ebay fee would be 150 dollars on a 1200 sale value for them at 12.55 percent... unless I am not understanding something.

You're not wrong, it's sometimes higher. After shipping, insurance, sign for delivery and fees... it will really eat into your profits. Most likely over $100. So there's still about $150 or so in profit to be made. JoergF

I think you'll find alot of miners are interested in the 3070Ti and 3080Ti as trade bait and potentially for use on a different coin i.e. ergo. Especially the 3070Ti. Maybe not so much the 3080Ti.

You could buy the 3959 and add $90 to buy the hybrid cooler. No need to build a custom loop and you'd gett a cooler-running card than the 3967. Question of whether you want to pay a bit more though. I personally would wait; you will probably get the 3967 this week or next.

That's a fair point. As for alt coins, I don't think a lot of the huge mining operations are bothering. They're focused on ETH. I think the people mining alt coins are a very small percentage and aren't a real problem as far as the silicon shortage goes. It's the people that have warehouses full of GPU's that are the problem and I don't think they care much about alt coins outside of ETH TBH. But that's just my opinion... I could be wrong.

Carfanatic Really torn I am close to 12G-P5-3967-KR 6/3/2021 7:42:26 AM PT No but I received notice to buy 12G-P5-3959-KR 6/15/2021 9:03:17 AM PT Yes I'd rather not build/maintain a 3rd loop just for it if I knew I would get the 3967 before too long...
You could buy the 3959 and add $90 to buy the hybrid cooler. No need to build a custom loop and you'd gett a cooler-running card than the 3967. Question of whether you want to pay a bit more though. I personally would wait; you will probably get the 3967 this week or next.
I wondered if the hybrid kit cooler would work it doesn't show it will but the boards are the same it shows compatibility with so I didn't know why not...I do see the 3967 is clocked higher for some reason though...
