Ok, so my question is, I got True 120 with 2 fans (Apollish reds which are rated for 2000rpm I believe) Now one of them is connected to a fan controller, the other one is connected to the mobo cpu fan connector. And in bios, even when cpu fan set to manual and to 100 (max) its only showing like 600-700 rpm? Any idea whats wrong why its showing such low rpm? Or is there any other way to measure what RPM fans are running at?

If you want it to run at 100% all the time just turn off the fan control in BIOS.

The BIOS has the ability to control fan speeds based on temp readings, or you can turn that function off which will make the fan just run at 100% all the time.

It should be running at max speed if you have it on 100% manual. Try setting a Smartfan where the criteria will always runs your fans at 100% (Say, if CPU > 20C then 100% & if cpu <20 then 100%). Otherwise, try using JPPWR connector, or the AUX connector.

But wont the mobo not boot if the cpu fan not connected in the connector... Also is there a way to check rmp on fans in the aux connectors?

It'll still boot with no fan on the CPU connector.

The BIOS won't even beep at you without a fan on the CPU pin. (well, except the usual POST beep).

Yeah thats what I know, is it won't go through POST w/o cpu fan attached... if there's a way to go around that, let me know.

I've never had that problem.....LOL. You could just hook a case fan to it if you need to get to bios to turn the CPU fan monitoring off.

Well dunno, I've built several systems, and I never got past post w/o cpu fan hooked up. But I guess I'll try to play around with it. I still don't get why at 100% set at bios its saying its only doing 600 rpm... is there a program that can monitor fan speed along with aux fan speeds?

So anyone, is there a fan meter? Like fanspeed meter of any kind? I want to see what RPM these fans are actually doing, I paid nearly 25bucks each for them...

Whats wrong with E-LEET?? It monitors the fan speeds just fine.
