I have this unit in a Caselabs Magnum MH10 case, which is no longer made.  It is short and wide.  I think the cables are plenty long, but I have no clue what distance you need.  I think the length is on the website here: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=220-T2-1600-X1 in the first box of information.  They all worked well and there was still some length.  I have three GPUs and my motherboard needed the 8-pin and a 4-pin, which in the standard cable set there were two CPU 4+4-pin cables.  The PSU sits behind the motherboard on this case, so the distance can be shorter than times when the PSU is on the bottom and the connection is on the top.
 
I am not that concerned with the ripple.  Even given the existence of it, there is no reason to believe that the unit you buy will or if the unit you buy from Corsair will not.  In JG review, he did say that the ripple went down after he soldered the items, as I will not take mine apart to do that and void the warrantee.  I also have a good UPS for this rig, which helps reduce overall spikes in power which can impact the ripple and help in voltage regulation.  This is how I approach that issue, as assuring each and every PSU is as described or as reviewed is one I do not wish to accept to protect my large investment in my rigs.

EVGA have Seasonic 1000 Platinum platform too, under name EVGA 1000 PS.
I like because on 24 pin cable sleeve is not so close to connectors as on other power supplies.
Enermax PSU had similar before several years I think, only here cables are full black and that's much better.
