    It's a prototype. You don't sell prototypes.

Its still gonna be a long time to go before they do. There are a lot of changes evga wants to make i'm sure of that.

i hope they take alot more time after seeing the "prototype" i was left with a hey look we slapped some stuff on a standard case and its EVGA now feeling.I expected more originality and non standard ideas from EVGA on a Case .Looked like re-branding with minor cosmetic upgrades.  I've seen at least 2 cases from members here that showed 300% better ideas and out of the box thinking that would have made outstanding EVGA cases .

Lots of people forget about development time. If information about this item becomes available then EVGA will release it. You'll have to wait and see if this item comes out or not.

That case is good but what is it missing well it missing usb 3.0 and fan at the top of the case other than that I cannot see any issue through a mountainmods case would be a better chose as this case will have more air flow this is what I want to buy and here is the configuration I will chose

A lot of people aren't going to shell out $600+ for a case. CoolerMaster have always priced their cases exceptionally well and highly competitive. Hell, I doubt this case is more than $300. But only time will tell...

Really wish the prototype had a black interior.

its still in R and D,we do not know what it will or will not have until it has been through all stages of R and D.they just do not draw a design and release it.they test it then make improvements if needed.

There are several different prototypes of this case.  View them here.  Some of the prototypes had two PSU mounts (one on the top, one on the bottom), some had one.  Some had top fan mounts (2x 230mm like the standard ATCS 840, which also has brackets to support a 3x 120mm radiator) but I can't tell if the one shown in this thread has top fan mounts.

I'd much rather have the Lian-Li PC-V2120 myself.  It looks better, it will be built much better (the EVGA SR-2 case is just a modded ATCS 840 which I have, pretty good build quality but nothing like Lian-Li and too much plastic), and I like the compartmentalized design.  However I wonder why they took out the second PSU mount in the bottom - in the V2010 you can mount two PSUs sideways.  Oh well.  It actually has top fans unlike most other Lian-Li cases, but I only see two fan mounts.  Hopefully they are 140mm and 120mm top fan mounts this time, unlike the PC-A77F.

Hopefully this comes out sooner rather than later. Even though the SR2 is still out of most peoples budget, this is still looking like a great case. The only thing i would say nay to is the number of plastic clips. Still, that is an old picture of the parts.

Cant wait for this and the power supply, even if i cant afford the ideal SR2 build.

Well if you don't want an SR-2 build, then this case is basically a Cooler Master ATCS 840 with slightly different looks in a few areas and an integrated EVGA Control Panel.  But yeah I agree about the plastic - Cooler Master uses it too much.  Expansion slot locks (although the ATCS 840 uses screws), optical drive bay locks and fan brackets are always plastic.  The side panels and top fan cover are aluminum but rather thin so they bend rather easily.  This is why I'd like to upgrade my ATCS 840.  For around the same price you can pick up a Lian-Li PC-A70F.

It would be nice if they offered the back plate for the motherboard, along with the expansion slots. then it would only be a matter of building a gigantic case, outfitted for water cooling.    Something like the evaporation towers for nuclear power plants.

@boredgunner, i would love to have the SR2. I just wish that the 6cores were below 1000. Then it would be a go. Great for CAD and the massive rendering that goes along with it. It is just hard to justify 2400 in processors (or more) 600 for the board, and then another 1500 for graphics to keep up with the power. Well, maybe if i win the lotto.

I would buy this case, but I'm deeply concerned on the airflow aspects of it. Looks like its more accustomed to water cooling. I Planning on going to an SR2, and it would be nice to have a case not the size of a mini fridge in order to accustom the fancy board.

Tell that to those of us that built full out Mountain Mods... Or those of us that buy three $650 cards for one system.. Not to mention the $500 Mobo to have them rest on

The ATCS 840 was released for $280 I believe.  That's quite a lot, if this case will be released in this price range then I think they should step up the build quality a bit.  The ATCS 840 dropped to $200 quickly and that was a good deal.

Well, even if this is designed around liquid cooling, it is going to be good. All they need to do is include a base or something capable of holding 2 480MM radiators. 1 for the 2CPUS+full MOBO block, and 1 for 2 or more 400 series cards. Or workstation cards, all dependent on the people.

@boredgunner, you are right about stepping it up for something on the expensive side. Look at the Antec 1200. Maybe not the best for cable routing, but all metal and very sturdy.

Antec 1200 is not what I was thinking, these actually compare to Cooler Master cases in build quality.  While they don't have plastic drive bay locks or expansion slot locks, they still use screws or thumbscrews which is fine I guess.  But they have no way to dampen sounds or absorb vibrations, and Antec cases are just lacking in general in my opinion.

It's just minor nit picks I have with these CM cases.  The plastic drive bay locks are fine since you can still use screws on thumbscrews on either side, and for those with the plastic expansion slot locks, you can take them off and use screws or thumbscrews.

The ATCS 840 actually has great attention to detail being all aluminum, the frame for the case is well built, the top and front panels are very thick, the motherboard tray has horizontal support bars increasing its durability, it has a ball bearing tray so it slides out easily and the drive bays are solid.  No rattles.  It's just the plastic drive bay locks, the side panels and top fan cover are a bit too thin so you can bend them.  But their other cases don't have this problem.

i would pay top dollar for this case, as long as it has built in usb 3.0 ports, 2 powersupply ports, room for lots of harddrives, places to tuck wire away anti vibration feet, all the bells and whistles, even if it didnt i would end up buying it =P

i would pay top dollar for this case, as long as it has built in usb 3.0 ports, 2 powersupply ports, room for lots of harddrives, places to tuck wire away anti vibration feet, all the bells and whistles, even if it didnt i would end up buying it =P

Well the ATCS 840 which the prototypes are based on has 2 power supply ports, but only some of the prototypes had this.  The ATCS 840 has 7 hard drive mounts (6 internal and one external).  One of the prototypes showed this but another had 7 internal hard drive mounts.  Cable management is fine since it has a removable motherboard tray, leaving everything else open.  The ATCS 840 has anti-vibration feet so the prototype should too.
