So the first couple days using the XR1lite were amazing no issues, loseless video at 60hz, it worked with all my scalers flawlessly....
then i a day or so later one of my chatters mentioned the video looking choppy and weird so i reactivated my device in obs and nothing still skippy, then i noticed it would only run 720p30 in custom, so i looked at the manual noticed that it could operate in USB 2.0 (purple blinking light) and saw that is what my device was doing, so i unplugged/plugged the device in a couple times and it finally ran in USB 3.0 mode, i thought then i had finally figured it out switching to a USB 3.1 Gen2 port from my USB 3.1 Gen1 port but that was not the case.....

so now the card basically works when it wants too in whatever mode it wants too, i have to plug the USB halfway into my usb motherboard ports to "Jump Start" the device into actually turning on, which was working for USB 3.0 mode

now today i had the same 2.0 issue pop up and figured oh i need to do the jumpstart again but nope now im just locked into usb 2.0 mode and im not sure whatelse to do but beg the EVGA Gods for a firmware update

Like other users, I am having very much the same trouble. However, my device has never worked correctly on my streaming laptop.

ASUS M580VD-EB76 (M580VD on Asus' website)
    it has 2 USB 2.0 slots, 1 USB 3.0 slot, and 1 USB-C 3.0 slot

I have completed all windows updates, all bios updates, and all chipset updates possible.  I have tried Windows 10 Home and Pro.  I have tried the device on an identical model laptop with the same issues.  On a separate dell laptop, it functions correctly.

It seems to be that the issue is related to our machines using companion ports when connecting to the system. I've included a screenshot of my USB tree view for my XR1 Lite.  It's identifying on Port 1, which is USB 2.1, but needs to actually be identified on Port 1-17, which is the XHCI controller for USB 3.0.  I'm at a loss here, as I can't use my other device for streaming. I wanted the XR1 Lite to be my go to device, but it doesn't look like it's meant to be.

I have the same issue, used it for about 3 weeks just fine, even did the latest firmware and now it's only in usb 2.0 mode no matter which usb 3.0 port I use, please EVGA fix this with an update.

I just received mine and this same thing happened to me, turns out the USB cable comes with it is the problem, tried another USB 3.2 gen 2 cable that comes with my extreme pro SSD solved it.

Mine just started doing this! I didn't change the cable, it was working great for a few weeks, now it will not go into USB 3.   I noticed my gaming pc video was stuttery in OBS on the streaming PC, I couldn;t resolve it while live, so I did the basics. It seemed to get worse. I finally got it to power on, but in Purple mode for the first time ever.

I have tried numerous good cables, different ports, etc. Are these things dying on us?

Same here. I just got my XR1 Lite today and at first, it was doing fine. I plugged the device into my USB 3.0 port on the back of the motherboard and everything looks great. I also updated the device to the latest firmware too. Recorded some footage and it worked great.

But, somehow now when I try to plug the device back into the same port (USB 3.0) or any USB 3.0 port on the back of the motherboard it didn't work. There's no light indicator and no sign that the device is running. But, when I plug it into another port (USB 2.0) it works fine but only 720p. This got me kind of frustrated. I tried to "jump start" like someone above mentioned and it did turn on the device (Light flashes purple) but no connection on OBS or anything.

Then, I tried every port on my PC and I find out that now the device only works if I plug it into the front USB Panel on my PC (USB 3.0). So far everything is working but I just don't get why it can't work on my motherboard's USB port.  I just worry that this error (or bug?) might affect me again in the future.

Maybe a simple USB Firmware update could fix the issue?

Also, I don't know if it is just me but I noticed that when I updated the firmware, the USB Firmware didn't change. Mine is stuck at 01.04.03.00.0002 while the latest USB firmware is v1.4.6.6.0501 (). I think this is what might cause my problem.

Is there anything that I could do to update the USB firmware?

    Same issue here.
I tested a bunch of USB A to C cables and all of they give me only 2.0 (purple light).
My Dell laptop has a USB C port, and when I connect it C to C with the same cable that I normally would use to connect a display, then it works every time. I get the blue light and the correct performance.
Unfortunately, my laptop uses this USB C port to charge. So, I really need it to work on the other USB ports.
