I recently update my firmware for the EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra with the Precision X1 software and now I cannot change the RGB on the card as well as the card keeps flashing these 3 LED's in red almost every other second. Prior to this new Precision X1 and firmware update, I had no issues with the card. Is there any easy fix to this like rolling back to the previous firmware? Current version of Precision X1 software is v1.1.5.0

Try reinstalling X1. I just did a clean windows install and now my RGB is attached to all of my OC/Fan curve profiles. To be clear, you’re seeing the controllable RGB flashing? Is that what you have set in the software under LED? If not, did you toggle link? Or are you talking about PSU cable LEDs?
Side note. As much as it might suck, I set up 3 profiles so it won’t take long to establish anything again after each patch. Thus far, X1 is a lot like a windows 95 app that I have to tinker with but then step away slowly when it decides to start working.

Both are flashing ever so often. The controllable RGB and the PSU cable LEDs. This all happened after I updated to the newest Precision X1 software and it prompted me to update the firmware. I tried to uninstall and reinstall to see if it would do anything but it still does it even when Precision X1 is not running. The gpu still works its just that the RGB leds and the 3 PSU cable leds keep flashing.

Ok. PSU cables are usually a red flag so I’d email or call EVGA. Since it happened right after a bios update, I’d try a few things. 1. unplug everything and power down CPU. Heck, reset CMOS while you’re starting clean. Wait a few minutes. Not sure what you’re running but check for the lights during post with just the power cord to your rig. Then VGA aka DisplayPort or HDMI. Then see if the PSU has a parasite. I just had this for some reason in bios from hubs built into my monitor and keyboard. Then plug stuff in one at a time. That’s assuming you don’t boot straight to your red lights.
2. See if you can source the last bios. I know tech power up is a hodgepodge of bios files but it’s probably safer to see if EVGA will send you that.
The RGB is not indicative of anything outside of the ever-present coolness of bright computer parts.

Correction: if the cool guy RGB is flashing that’s probably a fail safe so we actually notice the GPU/PSU cable lights. Most MOBOs are covered in lights but there’s like 6 tiny LEDs that should actually attract our attention. That makes a lot of sense.

Ok so I reset the CMOS and it didn't do anything as one I turned on the PC with no cables other than the power, it started off well but then proceeded to flash both the rgb leds and the psu leds. Also what do you mean by if the PSU has a parasite?

In my case, my MOBO decided to disable some of my USBs when too many devices were drawing power. Perhaps parasite is the unofficial term but parasitic drain is the term I use for car wiring.
Can you open GPU-Z and see any irregularity? What’s your set up and do you have any extension cables? I know strimers are decent but other PSU extensions can be sketchy.
I know I’m not answering your original question of a rollback bios but I’m genuinely curious. I have the same card and had the same update yesterday. No noticeable change.

Also cross reference to make sure you didn’t receive the other XC3 bios for hybrid somehow. Unless you are hybrid and received vanilla bios.

Here are my specifications for reference. CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X MOBO: MSI Meg X570 Ace RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 32GB (16X2) PSU: EVGA 850W Supernova GA GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra In terms of GPU Z I'm not really sure what to look for but I can link some screen shots I only use the default cables from the psu.

Ok. I’m ruling out anything easy that a rando from the internet can spot.
By any chance, do you have boost lock enabled in X1 or have you set it recently? I use it in 3D mark but it idles per x1 at 1400 on the desktop. Idle temps are lower. So there’s a hang up somewhere setting things to a default.
As a side note, what is your energy preference in windows and Nvidia? I know “prefer max performance” is ideal on the 30xx series as opposed to energy saver. Moreover, multiple Nvidia issues have been linked to the software power management settings.

I do not have boost lock enabled in X1 nor have set it on recently. I set everything to max performance in windows for the power configuration as well as for the nvidia control panel too.

It sounds like you’ve done everything correctly but may have received a botched bios update or something. Contact EVGA and let us know if there was a resolution. Hopefully another community member had a suggestion as well. Fingers crossed for a driver flashback.

Thanks for the feedback and tips my man. I really appreciate it. Hopefully I can work this out. I already started a support ticket and we'll see how it goes. I'll keep this thread updated just in case.

Alright I updated to the new Precision X1 as it said that it fixed an issue with installing the incorrect firmware and it has not fixed this issue for me unfortunately. Will I have to RMA this card or could I just wait for the next firmware update?
