I just installed the new mobo, have the ram and gpu installed only. Upon post, the computer immediately resets on the first try. Then it will start, multiple beeps that seem to be of two different types, and then present a post code of 62. The evga x79 ftw splash screen will display, but nothing else. There is a small 'B2' that is in the bottom right-hand side of the screen. What's strange is all the lights next to the mobo memory dimms and pci-e connections are all red(pic included). The lights where you connect the main power connector are yellow, red, and white. I've taken the cpu out and inspected, no bent pens. Both the mobo, memory, and proc are new and first time in my case. Any ideas? I'm thinking a bad mobo with all the red lights when trying to post. Thank you.

All the lights are normal, the B2 at the bottom of the screen is also normal. The post code of 62 may be something, look at the manual that came with the board for the code in the troubleshooting. It should be there, if not go to support or wait for another post.

Post Code 62 = Installation of the South Bridge Runtime Services Switch over to another BIOS on the board and see if that remedies the problem. Is it possible that the video card is causing problems for the southbridge? If the swapping of BIOS doesn't work, try a different video card.

Thanks for the replies mates. I spoke to tech support - He suggested a couple of things that didn't work. Awaiting the support ticket to clear in the system and I'll rma the board on Monday. Definitely disappointed I have to rma the thing.

I don't know when this picture was taken but the CPU power cable is not plugged in. It is just visible at the far right underneath the tubing. Maybe you plugged it in after this picture was taken but that would account for many problems. You've got two on that motherboard so plug them both in.

Interesting that when I spoke with tech support we talked about the power connections in detail. He specifically reference being able to use one or the other but never implied both needed to be connected at the same time. Matter of fact, he mentioned that I should try the secondary before considering the mobo defective. I'll certainly give it a go however. Thank you for the info sir. update - the fold-out visual guide indicates both 8-pins are only needed if you plan to overclock.

Yes, but I just wanted to troubleshoot and see if the problems still occurred with both CPU power cables plugged in. I had this same issue with my NEW TITAN. The problem is the EVGA TITAN has the new UEFI bios and it needs the mobo bios to be upgraded to 44 or the newest 45. Once you flash the new bios you will be all set!!! You will need an older video card to boot your PC, flash the bios and then you can use your new TITAN :) I had the same issue going from my gtx 690 to the TITAN. It would get stuck at the EVGA X79 FTW splash screen with the B2 at the bottom right corner. Get the 45 bios here below, you can do the bios flash right in Windows. Very Easy!!! http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1873870

Well, I actually had another 2011 socket mobo sitting around that I installed as a test. The weirdest thing its doing the same thing (brand new proc from microcenter). System comes on, I can hear the hdd turning but no signal to the monitor. With the evga I at least got a splash screen. With this new mobo, not even the signal is detected. Maybe the new sockets just don't like me :(

Just get evga to send you an update bios chip instead of shipping the whole board around. If that is really what others encountered when trying to install a titan
