I miss the good old days of when company's made overclocking versions of the lower end gpu's. MSI's "Hawk" line was outstanding and is now gone. So EVGA why no Classified 970? Hell I'd kill for a Classified 950 or 960 Even.

The FTW cards essentially fulfill that role. We do have FTW versions of cards all the way down to the 740.

It's not the same Darrel. People want that name. That built up pcb. I'm asking this question because I just bought a 750 Ti HOF and it is an absolute hoot to overclock and not worry because its a 170 dollar card . I'm not asking that you mass produce a crap load of them. Come with a limited edition. Say a hundred. They will sell.

The FTW has always been the high end x70 card. The Classified is saved for the x80 and up enthusiast level GPUs. The 970 FTW and FTW+ have a dual bios so as to allow someone willing to do so, the ability to unlock the card's full potential. With a modded bios, the 970s are killer GPUs.

Do you think Galax makes the 970 HOF strictly to make a profit? It gets the name out, its good publicity pandering to overclockers

Never been impressed with the GALAX 970s....did a couple of custom bios for guys with the HOF edition 970s...they're nothing special. The higher tier cards are a different story, but the 970s are just average....I haven't been impressed by anything I've seen of them.

And no full coverage water blocks....EVGA really messed up when they didn't set up the first FTW the right way.

The 770 Classified was an unusual case because it was essentially just an updated version of the GTX 680.

EVGA has a large and confusing number of 900 series versions as it is. I don't think an additional version choice is necessary. There are already quite a few respected reviewers who criticize EVGA's large number of variants. EVGA needs to make a small number of versions very well instead of a large number of versions in a less-controlled and scrutinized manner. Growing too large and losing specialization and focus is a company-killer.
