Hi,
I just bought one RTX 3080 XC3 and this red thing at the side, are making me bad in my white config. Anyone know if we will have an solution to remove this, or something to hide this made by EVGA to dont loose our warranty riping this apart?
Please EVGA, if you do something to improve this desingn please let me know and send me a message!

It's my understanding that EVGA has a solution in the works for this. JayzTwoCents talked about it in his review of the card.

There's another long thread about this. EVGA will be offering some kind of replacement, plate, or something to change the color of the accent. It'll be free so we just have to wait for now. Here's a pic.

I wouldn't personally try removing them now, but Steve from Gamer's Nexus pointed out there are some clips holding it in. Might be able to pop it off, but I wouldn't recommend it till someone thats got more Dollars than Sense tries it first.
No clue what I'm doing, but having fun trying to do it!

I tried posting a link before and it got removed, so just look for the thread called "This has to be the ugliest cards i have ever seen". If you're talking about where the pic came from, look for Jayz2cents video titled "Custom RTX 3080 cards are here!". You'll see it at around 14:40 mark.

Then watched the Jayz2Cents video where he talks about it. And it just does not look good. Really not sure how that one got approved with all respect. I wonder how much it costs EVGA to make the changeover? It's one of those things that may seem small to us. But costs a lot to EVGA in terms of person hours, resources, money, etc. The piece of trim itself may be only less than a dollar. It's the effort to change it in what are probably already boxed and sealed cards that makes it expensive.

The picture he's referring to was from JayZ2Cent's video that shows the different colors and stating it would be free to replace with a color of your choice. The vote was probably to decide what the Final shipping version should be going forward and probably only change colors if the customers request it. That's my guess on the last part.

Does anyone know if the front and back red trims are detachable? The slim red stripe accross the backplate would be tolerable if removing those rudolph nose themed trims was possible.

Hopefully they are getting rid of the red stripe as well. And really just remove the trim altogether. It's ugly no matter what color it is. But black would be the only color tolerable.

Lucky! Got it at Kabum? I`ve got this card shortlisted there since it`s one of the few that`ll fit into my 280X case... I`ll have to do something about that red trim tough...
