Here is the gallery, please visit it as it has videos of the system running: https://imgur.com/gallery/vopXdWs Box had a dent in it, thankfully nothing is damaged Front of box Back of box Opening up, it's packaged like how a GPU comes Shroud Fan is similar design to all the EVGA ones, with the little "e" that makes it look like a genital outbreak :O The pump and the memory plates The memory heatsink is actually a plate and just a head spreader, does not have fins but for good reason Pre-applied thermal paste, ended up wiping it off to apply thermal grizzly. Fact, thermal grizzly has urisine urine in it, that's how it gets its high thermal conductivity rating The radiator The RGB fans, I ended up replacing them with 2400 8 LED ML140 fans taken from my H150i Elite. I replaced the H150i with LL120s. Fans use traditional RGB 5V header to by plugged into the side of the card. I didn't use these. Here was the plan, lets see if this works! Note, the rear fans are NOT ML120 RGBs, they're the standard ones. The front pulling ones are special, they come with the Corsair AIOs so you can't buy them normally. I took them off of my H150i. Before: Lian Li XL with Phanteks vertical mounting EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 After: Lian Li XL with Phanteks vertical mount EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 HYBRID Phanteks vertical mounting EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 After: Phanteks vertical mount EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 HYBRID Before: Where the radiator will go, lets see if it fits and can be hidden out of site After: Pump tubes long enough to go into back and rear of case Before: The rear of the case, quite a lot of room to fit a radiator and fans for push pull Radiator nicely hidden behind Lian Li XL, this case has lots of room Well thanks for the reminder EVGA! Heatsink cleaned up, ready for thermal grizzly AND HERE IS WHY THERE'S NO HEATSINK! The plate has thermal past applied so that the heat is transferred into the AIO Thermal grizzly, I did clean up that bottom right don't worry This is how I do the spread method on CPUs and GPUs, I use my finger and wrap

Thanks for the walkthrough! How are your temps after the install? Did you find anything odd in the design? Pump noise? Anything we should be aware of?

With my fan speed at 60-70% and 450W bios, the card is around 52C. Putti the pump and screwing it on is scary, there are 4 threaded pegs and they don't go through the hole like you think they would. This is when you flip the cars over onto the shroud and pump. Also, do it slowly and make sure you're aligned because the memory thermal pads are going to stick. Next is the existing thermal pads, EVGA recommends putting it back on your old heatsink, but I ended up folding them hotndog style and reusing them for the back of the card to bond where the memory is to the backplate, worked out nicely. Now I have thermal puddy in the back to help transfer heat to the backplate. The pump does have a buzzing noise but when the fans are on and I'm gaming I can't hear it anymore. Now I have two pumps buzzing, my H150i and the EVGA pump... Lol

Not gonna lie, I'm so out of it from being up so long cuz of how hyped I am I have a Hybrid card coming, that I legitimately went "Wait a minute, there is no card attached to that cooler dude!" Then about 30 seconds later "Oooooooh it's just the kit." lol Looks like it's going to come out clin n izi as we say in CSlando - Ver-nice. I was going to Hybrid kit my 3080 myself, but I just didn't have the stomach for it I guess. Do let us know how the temps are vs how they were before you installed it - interesting that you did it as intake instead of exhaust for the radiator, of course, with the configuration of that case, you don't really have a choice unless you put the CPU radiator in that spot & put the GPU rad up top. Have fun with that thing, your boost clock tables are gonna be happy campers now!

I got notified for my 3090 FTW3 cooler kit 12/10 and ordered. Received today. Just installed. So much quieter. Just like I was back with my 2080ti Hybrid. I am currently running about 15 degrees Celsius cooler under load. Easy install. Biggest challenge was removing all the old putty. Make sure you have High % Isopropyl on hand and some lint free cloths. Handful of tips: - When removing the original GPU bracket, Hold onto it. It is terribly sproingy.
- When removing the backplate screws. There is one hiding under the EVGA warranty tamper label.
- Does take a bit of force to get the original heatsink off. Slow gentle pressure is your friend. Do not twist.
- Have some compressed air to blow little fribbles of putty away.
One oddity I noticed. When setting the RGB colors on the cooler. The Red and Green channels are switched on mine. I do not have the RGB on the fans hooked up so can not really tell if that is being affected the same way.

Nice. Back in September there was a huge thread about people saying the 2080ti Hybrid was horribly loud, countered also by a lot of people saying their 2080ti was quiet. I wasn't sure what to think. I believe it is the same Asetek 6 gen pump in the 3080 right? As a fanatical quiet freak you had me at quieter

Hey. Does evga include full installation guide ? Speaking for extreme oc, I tried my ftw3 ultra stock cooler with ambient of 6C. I can coldboot start port royal at 7C and peak up to 47C. Lets say you fire up port royal with outside ambient today, how much u can drop actually ? I am on edge if i should get hybrid or continue stock. Stock cooler at %100 does pretty good job tbh

The PSU is in the back of the case hidden away. These Lian Li Dynamic cases are legit, fit a lot, good cooling and cable management is easy.

You take off 10-15C more depending if the fan is at 60% or 100%

Thanks a lot for this, really great write-up that answers many questions for people interested in the kit. Which of your push/pull ML's are you controlling (speed) with iCUE vs PX1? One last one.. Did you flash the Hybrid BIOS onto your card? Thanks again.

I'm using my motherboard and Argos monitor to set-up the speed of the fans. Yes I did flash it, the XOC one.

Yer, it'll be here Wednesday, I'm hyped a-f. I queued Thursday, got my call up Friday - wasn't expecting it & had to work some magic to be able to actually purchase the card (resold my RTX 2070 Super on EBay that I was going to keep in the Step-Up queue for a 3080 but I yoloed it) For those running air-cooled cards: Keep in mind your Power Limit will be "lower" if you're running your GPU fans at 100%. Most people have found the happy medium if you're willing to go full blast, is 80%, this keeps keeps the card cool while not hampering the power limit as much. For those running Hybrid cards (I can't confirm this til mine gets here) - I would not plug the radiator fans in to the card, again, for the same reason. Plug them in to your motherboard via a header/splitter instead to give you fan-control while they get power directly from the PSU or motherboard. The reason I suggest this is those 120mm fans probably draw more power combined than the native on-board fans would on an air-cooled GPU, which again, could negatively impact your GPU's power limit, limiting your OC headroom etc. I will test this myself, once I have one in hand, and see what effects it has on the power limit - I did this with the air-cooled 3080 I have and posted the numbers somewhere, can't remember exactly off the top of my head, but I believe it was something like a 13W draw difference just having the fans on vs off, for 80% fan speed, and going to 100% increased it by several watts from the 80% number. Yeah, it's only a few watts (possibly two dozen at most), but why hamper your card's power limit ;) More recently I actually disabled the RGB bar on the 3080 just to see what it does in terms of power draw - seems it too has a decent bit of draw, but I'd have to do some testing to see exactly how much it is, I think it's only around 3-5W though. Maybe slightly more... I leave it on most of the time, but next time I'm running benchmarks going for personal bests, I'm definitely disabling all the RGBs on the cardo.

Did you plug the rad fans to the card as the per the instructions? Being that our cards have bioses intended for the stock heatsink fans, do the rad fans stop (when the bios switch is in the normal position) as if they were the regular heatsink fans? I wish evga released a bios that is intended for us users that are converting their air cooled cards to the hybrid kits....

Cause I know in the Kingpin image of the kit you can see the gold colored heatsink, but in OPs images on page 1, it looks as if there are no substantial heatsinks behind the shroud fan, due to the thermal pad strips where the VRM rows are and then..... nothing behind/under the fan itself?

I read through installation guide and I can see the vrms have pads, but I'm not sure if they are direct contact to the shroud or if a heatsink is present. It is listed in installation guide as having VRM heatsinks....might be ae just don't see them in pic. Ill update when I get mine this week.

Do you know the max fan rpm for the included fans? If they're fast enough I want to do push pull. And did you need to switch to the hybrid bios or can you keep the xoc beta bios air cooled version?

Im replacing the fans with Arctic P12 PWM fans and will do a push pull configuration. Currently I’m doing a push pull and getting 100 oc on core with temps of up to 55. Once i get the arctic P12, the noise of the fans will be silent and the temps should be cooler lol.
