Actually, the title is a bit misleading. I just got off the phone with EVGA because I'm not sure if they've received my package. The tech told me that anytime that an item comes through inside an envelope, it gets automatically rejected? I sent it with one of those cardboard USPS standard shipping packages that they provide with a flat shipping rate. Do those packages normally get rejected from EVGA? The label was placed correctly and inside the package had bubble wrap to cushion the video card. Thank you in advance for your responses.

sfkn2, EVGA does accept shipments via postal services such as USPS, but EVGA does not accepts any shipment, from any carrier, that comes in an padded envelope. Based on our experiences, we have found that the majority of shipments that come in padded envelopes, are damaged in shipment. This is why we do not accept any shipment that does not come in a box. We do attempt to notify the end user of this by including in our RMA approval email: "... you will need to use a cushioning material and a cardboard carton."

Garrett, thank you for responding to my thread. Not that I'm trying to argue with you, but the EVGA sticker says: "... only inside a shipping carton with bubble wrapping material fully protecting the hardware." Shipping carton, well, technically the package is in a cardboard type envelope. Hm, kind of hard for me to describe it, but I'll link you to a picture. I'm just really worried that it got bounced back or that my RMA claim will be denied. Am I screwed? :/

Btw Garrett, would you be able to check to see if you guys received it, just in case? The tech I talked to wouldn't even check it, either physically or in the system...

Sorry dude, they probably refused it. It's in an envelope. Opening an envelope to inspect the contents is acceptance of the shipment. The receiving party can open an outside plastic "manifest window" sticker without accepting the package, but once the package itself is opened, it cannot be refused. I know, I used to ship computer equipment for a local CompUSA store when I was in college. CAR*TON -noun 1. a cardboard or plastic box used typically for storage or shipping. (www.dictionary.com) Again, sorry dude.

ya that is no doubt a Envelope it is even labeled by USPS as "envelope " A USPS shipping "Box" would leave room for packing material like peanuts or foam to protect the item during shipping. That package (i hope you insured it ) was no doubt bounced and dropped many times in that thin packaging and will be lucky to arrive without damage .

The weird thing is - if I were to get the card back.. and then sent it again with a box, then EVGA will accept it? Or will EVGA deny my RMA claim..?

sfkn2, If you get your package back, check for any possible damages first. You dont know what it's been through during its round trip. Any physical damages to your product are not covered by warranty, and may end up with a service charge for repair, which is why packaging it in the way described, with a carrier that has insurance coverage (optional), is recommended. When you want to reattempt the shipment, package it correctly into a cardboard box, contact EVGA, and get an RMA set up again. If you're still under warranty, there should be no issues accepting package if set up properly. Or contact them 24/7 at 1-888-881-EVGA (3842)

I'd have to set up another RMA request..? If the item is rejected, does EVGA still scan the package before it's sent back?

No, we just give it right back to the delivery guy. You will want to call customer service when you get the package back to see if you need a new RMA or not. The number will be good for 30 days approximately, so you might not. Of course if it was damaged in shipping that's another story.
