Does the Server need to be running in the background even if not needed for monitoring? I tried ending in the task manager but it keeps popping back up. Anyway to turn if off?

By the way, to clarify my earlier post, I didn't get a Blue Screen, I was just in a blue screen. Like my Windows was still working, but the taskbar went missing and nothing was being rendered.

Sounds like explorer crashed.
Unlikely, whenever explorer crashes (at least on 8.1) it instantly restarts. That, and it's logged in the Event Viewer, which this wasn't.

There appears to be some thing really wrong with this in BF4
I have two Evga acx 780s playing BF4 get high fps all ways ,But when Just testing this with BF4 it kills the FPS the game wont even load when this is running in the background all moves in slowmotion with very low fps showing in the corner of 6 fps , ...Did this even get tested with BF4 .
Okay it would seem that the game become very slow and when you have the OS ingame set to show ,But with that off the fps jumps back up again hmm so there is a problem some where with it :(
oh well back to 4.2.1
Hi EVGA, like karlfuller mentioned. Bf4 wont even load. It gives me BF4 stopped working, or it chrased. tried a repair for BF4 but no luck. Put 4.2.1 back on and it was fine.

Anyone notice there cards running hotter when stress testing using OC scanner ? PX15 shows the fans working correctly but my temps are way up, no change while gaming though.
I even re did the thermal paste just to make sure.
Also wanted to know where I can find the download for the older PX ? deleted by mistake.

I have 2 GTX780ti cards in SLI, with a customised fan curve that starts at 50% as the minimum. If I switch between the 2 cards to check temps etc in the main interface, the fans will drop to 37% for a short time, this never happened in any previous version.

I also cannot use PrecisionX 5.0 when playing BF4. I have to shut down PrecisionX before playing, then it's all good. Everything else I've played, mainly DayZ SA, GRID Autosport, ARMA3, and others, all work fine.. so far.

Is there a way to turn off the server that starts with precision? Because I use Hwinfo/rtss for monitoring and I use precision for fan profile, and watch dogs crashes at the start for me with the precison/server running until I turn it off. I had to go back to 4.2.1 version.

Hi EVGA,

Note: The download for the "Legacy" PrecisionX v4.2.1, was available on the PrecisionX Download page, after the v5.0.0 release - you had to scroll to the bottom to get it, labeled as "Legacy". But now, since the v5.0.0.17 release, I don't see the legacy v4.2.1 anymore! Wow. You should be able to still find PrecisionX v4.2.1 on the web. For security reference, the filesize of the .exe is 16,048,384, and it was signed by EVGA with a timestamp of 7/17/2013 8:28:40 PM. If it becomes unavailable everywhere, for whatever reason, feel free to PM me, for a copy.

Got overlay on my game launcher for setting the amazing spiderman. Some game doesn't have the osd working. Batman arkham origin and city, Farcry2 need a fix. work ok will all the others games. When i test with the evga ocscanner the artifact scanner doesn't work with that version. windows 8 64 bits MSI Z77 GD45 gamong motherboard EVGA GTX780TI SC/ACX SLI

While the new version looks nice and everything I have two major complaints. I do not see (maybe I overlooked them) options any longer to have my monitoring options to include the windows system tray OR the G15 applet. Those were the two options I used almost exclusively and now they are gone. I have no way no to check at a glance if my PGU ir running hot unless I am in a game whicj is only aboy 5% of my computer use. After messing with it I have to say this new version is useless crap. The OSD is absolute garbage. You can't move it from the upper left corner or change the display color or sizing like you could before. In a game this takes up way too much real estate to be of any use whatsoever. THIS is where my G15 applet WAS useful. I'd rather have my old version back but now I can't because this one clean installed over my previous setup. Blech!

No XP 64 support. After years of using EVGA's Precision, I'm switching to MSI's Afterburner v3.0.1, which fully supports XP 32 and 64 bit (like NVIDIA itself does). Shame on you, EVGA.

Bug report:
OSD Functionality doesn't work when used with other applications like radeonpro or sweetfx, old 4.2.1 version had a stealth mode to allow for this. Hope you can add this.

I find it deadly insulting after inverting a lot of my life in RivaTuner project since 1997 when I founded this project. Too bad that EVGA fallen that low. But I no longer care, the possibilities of ANY business relationships with a company is absolutely equal to zero. The only sad thing in this story is that old good and fair hardware enthusiast, Jacob Freeman completely died for me.

How does EVGA dare to call this release their own "coded from ground-up", while anyone with a brain in their head would see and know that it was copied from Unwinder's RivaTuner? The ONLY 2 things that are different are the 64bit support and the skin, but GUI, overclocking, sliders, monitoring, even .exe code and fonts are Unwinder's work. EVGA PR's don't even bother commenting on all of this and keep repeating the vague "Its all in-house coded" without ANY details or backup to these statements and ignoring what Unwinder stated. Creating a SKIN and adding 64bit support doesn't make EVGA the owner of this latest release, which, in addition to breaching contract with Unwinder, also has bugs that 1.30v adjustment for cards that don't go above 1.21v.
I am ASHAMED to be using EVGA's hardware and until recently - software. Who knows how much of EVGA's intellectual property and hardware design is of their own true in-house design?
One way or another, I am very glad that Overclock.net Forums, Guru3D Forums, and numerous other forums are unanimously spitting on EVGA's "in-house" claim that shows EVGA's true colors.

Brand new EVGA GTX760 SC ACX 2GB Card. Was perfectly stable under Precision X 4.2 OCd at +100 core. I updated Precision X to 5.0 and now War Thunder crashes after around 6-7 minutes play. This is to say that the graphics driver crashes, locking up the game completely. No other changes to the setup. I am hoping you can assist but for now I am going back to 4.2.

Installed Precision X 5.0 yesterday and have 780Ti running at +100MHz GPU, +400MHz Memory, 105% TPU, 90°C. Everything was ok with 4.2.1. Now I have BSOD everytime I save a new profile. Had BSOD when check to load a profile at startup. After running OCScanner and reboot = BSOD.... OCScanner at stress test (Furry test - 1080p) was getting 1197MHz with 103% TPU at Precision 4.2.1. Now I'm getting 667Mhz maximum and reaching 105% TPU too easy... This version is too "buggy"...

There has actually been two updates since the initial release. Go to evga.com/precision scroll down for release notes. Shoot didn't see your edit that you found it. Will leave it up incase anyone else is having an issue finding the notes.

Let me, in fairness, back Unwinder on this one. I used the original Rivatuner a long long time ago (around 98). He taught me how to control fan speeds and other options, when it was more difficult to use. He never abandoned / nor adopted an abandoned Rivatuner...he wrote it!!! Later on, instead of continuing to update Riva, he created MSI Afterburner, which simplified the setup of Riva. I always used it, even though my video cards are all EVGA. A year or more later came EVGA Precision. I switched from MSI to EVGA software, because the skinning of Precision on this board was out of site, and it had the same function as Afterburner.

Still have fan speed issues when switching cards in sli, fan speed drops to 37%, this is with the latest version 5.0.1
