I am a great fan of Precision X, but it feels to me like the released was rushed. The monitoring button pop up tells me that I can display stuff like the temperature on the system tray, but it's just missing in the options. That's the part that I always used in the previous versions and hopefully that will be added asap, otherwise it's back to version 4.2.1. Has the bluetooth connectivity been with the android app been axed? I installed that app on my wife's Tab S and now I can't find the bluetooth toggle in PrecisionX. Please EVGA, fix it.

OV3RCLK4 Overvoltage is not working correctly with my 780ti + Skyn3t vBIOS. I tried 1300mv and about 20mhz higher on my core clock and loaded up a benchmark and my computer crashed and I was stuck with no signal on my monitor until I hard reset the system. Then it proceeded to reboot into a BSOD nvlddmkm.sys system_service_exception 7E. So i reset the BIOS and it booted fine. Then I tried Kboost and poof. Same BSOD again.
Same exact issue to a T.

So Really? Seems you guys would do well to not steal Unwinders hard work, and call it your own. That man was working on Rivatuner way before EVGA even showed up. I will gladly go with another company than watch as EVGA takes someone elses work and passes it as their own. If you can account for all the below items, I'll stay a customer. If you cannot, well you will lose me and everyone I get this info out to. You want to be an awesome company that we all buy from? Great, just don't **** one of our own. Provide answers to these statements:- Original EVGA Precision EXE resources and dialog templates were copy-pasted to this “in-house” project as is, even original dialog control IDs are the same. Company PRs already claim that GUI is 100% designed by EVGA which is sadly not true, company designed concept art of EVGA Precision skin only. All product properties, entire monitoring section, setting and so on came from directly original RivaTuner (and were available in other RivaTuner based products like HIS iTurbo years before Precision was born) and EVGA has no relation to designing them at all. So company directly violated our license agreement terms and reverse engineered licensed binaries to copy data from it and represent it as their own design.
- EVGA completely cloned original RivaTuner’s RTMUI multilanguage context help system and localization engine. Contents of “Help” and “Localization” folders were copy-pasted to new product as is from original Precision, including localization and GUI translation databases for different languages. “Help” folder contains direct mapping of dialog IDs to help files, I guess getting easy access to it as direct reason of “copying” original dialog templates with original dialog IDs. So the company also violated our license agreement terms and redistributed parts of original product without permission.
- Even “in-house” skin still uses my original raster fonts from old good RivaTuner. But at least that can be partially justified. Out intellectual property ownership terms of agreement define that I own software product copyrights, the company exclusively owns the product distribution rights as well as non-software intellectual properties like trademarks, product name, logos and artwork I create for them during the contract. So you may try to fit “copied” fonts in this category if you close eyes on the fact that it came from original RT.
- Fun thing, even for the installer of “in-house” product the company copy-pasted my own license agreement from original installer, which contains my own third party components licensing terms and direct restriction on reverse engineering or redistributing them. Probably you’ll at least read what exactly do you copy paste, EVGA?
- The most sad and painful thing for me is that the company entirely copy-pasted RivaTuner’s unique concepts of displaying data into On-Screen Display. RvaTuner Statistics Server was the first tool in the industry that introduced the concept of in-game hardware monitoring via OSD back in 2005, I spent almost than 10 years on polishing it. And most sad thing for me is that original Precision was not supposed to include such functionality, so it is not included in development budget and royalty fees. I added RTSS to Precision in one of the first versions completely free of any licensing fees just to help the company to promote new tool and it truly became one of the most important application features. So it was used during more than 5 years completely free (and the company was never brave to admit that) and in final they originally “thanked” for free OSD usage by stealing it. EVGA’s brand new “in-house” OSD is also open a simple rip of open source FW1FontWrapper overlay. And If I were the developer of FW1FontWrapper, I’d read the story of RTSS and think 1000 times about it.

Mystikalrush Some reason OSD is On and cannot be turned off, and isn't letting me play BF4. Once I completely close out Precision, BF4 will launch and work properly.
I had to set a hotkey to toggle it off and then deleted the hotkey once it was off.

You believe everything you read on the internet huh? Anytime you have an article like this and bickering back an forth you really should wait to pass judgement until you hear all sides of said story. You know you may be right. I may be too quick to believe the above, simply because it is from the creator of the Rivatuner software. Noone said anything about taking a bullet. And yes, Unwinder has been developing Rivatuner since the days of my TNT cards (97'ish) and yes I am suggesting that he is one of the Original G's. I can see how quick you are to defend and discredit others. And no, my opinion on the matter doesn't need to wait.

Chaz42 What happened to system tray icons? I'd like to be able to see my GPU temps in my system tray... Also, Steam integration is a terrible idea, since PrecisionX is always on it will always show I'm in game. NO ONE WANTS THAT Back to 4.2.1 for me...
System tray icons are very important to me as well! I keep an eye on the system all the time. I will stick with 4.2.1 until the app doesn't crash and resumes normal operation of monitoring.

This is a disaster! I installed this and it did something to my windows install. I couldn't reboot because it entered into an infinite loop with startup problems. I had to wipe all drives and the EVGA Precision.... I reinstalled everything and tried again. It worked for 5 minutes then crashed and then the SAME problem again on reboot. Uninstalled everything again and now the system crashes when trying reinstall the drivers. I should have stayed with 4.2...............

The auto fan not sticking on saving profiles is a pretty major issue IMO. There is no warning, and the fan stays manual and whatever percentage it begins at. For example, my 780 Ti was stuck at 32% fan speed. It reached temperatures I'd rather not think about ever again before I noticed it on my secondary screen. Some guy with one monitor who fires up his profile and doesn't use OSD would never know his GPU is cooking.

I haven't experienced this but ya- that's a major bug. Did you report it to someone at EVGA? I am sure they are reading this thread but there have been many small bugs being reported so this might get lost.

When switching profiles fan auto changes itself to manual control. I've uninstalled Precision X and reinstalled 4.2.1 to see if it was an error with my system and 4.2.1 works fine but 5.0 needs the fan auto/manual setting looked at and debugged.

It was first reported on the first page of this thread by Opolis -What happened to the taskbar temp feature? -Auto fan setting won't stick when saving profiles -Overvoltage toggle button does not update when turning on OV. ...back to the older version for now, although I do like that voltage settings are finally attached to saved profiles.
I'm hoping this counts as reporting to EVGA and they they are following this thread. But yea, my 780 Ti hit 99C and downclocked to 400 MHz before I noticed it. I was probably in the BF4 round for two minutes. But two minutes at 32% fan speed under full load will do that to ya. The problem was I had set the profile with auto fan, ran it and it worked fine. Got out and restarted for one reason or another, and upon reapplying the profile it did not reapply auto fan and instead applied manual fan on the current fan speed (32%). Unfortunately I did not notice it right away on entering the game because it had previously worked fine. Bummer. I would avoid this software until bugs get worked out. Edit: It now appears my card idles 6-8C higher than it did before, so I suppose I will have to pull it apart and reapply thermal paste after the original got cooked. Hopefully it didn't actually damage the card. It appeared to be working fine afterwards and operating at normal temperatures in-game, but now I'm noticing a quite high idle temp. Sigh. Has also now been reported by another person above me as well. Dicehunter When switching profiles fan auto changes itself to manual control. I've uninstalled Precision X and reinstalled 4.2.1 to see if it was an error with my system and 4.2.1 works fine but 5.0 needs the fan auto/manual setting looked at and debugged.

I hope the Logitech G15/19/510 gamepanel features were just overlooked in this release, not just straight out removed, and will be added later, otherwise this is a major downgrade for me, nevermind all the other bugs people are reporting.

I have not seen this reported yet. if I assign a key to "toggle OSD" I then cant use this key at all to type. say I use "m" as the toggle key. I cant type the letter m at all if precision is running. this goes for inside or outside of games. also this is just a minor thing to prevent the OSD from taking up a huge chunk of the screen. I like to have more things on 1 line on the OSD. say on 1 line I want GPU1 temp, usage and clock. Line 2 GPU2 temp, usage, clock Line 3 FPS instead of all of these broken up on their own line each. EDIT: I just tested this with "Show & Hide OSD" as well and both those options disable those keys for normal use as well.

I had to uninstall as I could not stop the OSD function or kill the OSD server.
