I have a 3080 FTW3 Ultra and am running Precision X1 at the newest version (1.1.1). When I apply a custom fan curve nothing happens? My fans just stay at 0. Is this a known bug? I never had an issue with my 2080 super ftw3 ultra.

Saltgrass There does not seem to have been any progress on using the 3/4 small LEDs to show temps on the 3090 FTW3 Ultra. I would really prefer using those rather than the RGB Bar..
100% on that idea , I seriously hope that it gets implemented, don’t need the whole front light bar showing the temp in color while I am gaming. Looks bad IMO after looking at it today. The other smaller LEDs would fit that bill perfectly for monitoring if I can address that way.

d.burnette I think I have run across a bug. I have set a static fan speed in Precision , all three fans at 39%. Upon booting up to desktop, only fan three is running at 39%, fans one and two are at 0.

Thanks but no, I don't think so. His was using a fan curve, mine is just a static setting.

Hi: I'm trying to do a performance OC scan with X1 Precision and it keeps crashing my computer. Do you guys have any ideas as to what's causing that instability? Thanks!

Why are you not updating the firmware? If it's what's recommend by evga you should do it. If something happens that's what the rma is for. What good is having a new gpu if your not going to keep the mcu firmware updated to control the fans, rgb and temp sensor monitoring? Just disable all antivirus/malware software and close any extra programs running before doing the update. This is what I have done always and never had a firmware update fail.

Slight addendum to the above bug. Upon reboot while PX1 shows Fan 1 and 2 speeds at 0 rather than what they were set for, observing the rpm side they are all three running as should. Appears to be just an error reporting on the fan percentage set side.

This happens to me, too.... off that subject: if you go to the LED section and set your LED's to temp display, does it stay after a reboot? Mine doesn't.

I have a few questions: - When I do the autoscan, I get +145 for gpu and +200 for mem. I've seen people run +150 gpu and +1000 on mem. Doesn't the +200 seem low?
- In the past, Precision X1 only provided the gpu oc. Do we just enter in the mem oc as we did gpu oc?
- How do I know that I've applied a scanned curve? The load/apply/save with the purple/blue boxes don't make a lot sense when trying to know what setting you've applied.

It looks like this version might have broken my fan curve. I was apprehensive about updating X1. The previous version broke my first 3080 ftw3 when it updated the firmware, and I had to RMA the card (all the rgb and one of the fans stopped working completely). I've been using v1.1.0.11 since then because it didn't force a firmware update on me, and I wanted to play around with my card and with X1 a bit before doing something that might end up damaging it again (I was a little gun shy). But today I went ahead and did the update. The firmware update appears ok - it's at least better than last time since the RGB still works on the card, as do all of the fans. But I do have a problem. Fans 1 and 2 appear to always operate at a higher percentage than they are being instructed to operate. The exact number that it's off by has a range of 0-30%, being higher at lower percentages and lower at higher percentages: For instance, if I set all three fans to 0, x1 will show them at 0 on the sliders on the right side of the window, but the speeds listed on the left don't match up. Fans 1 and 2 will be 30% while fan 3 is correctly at 0. I have verified that fans 1 and 2 are spinning while fan 3 is still by looking at the actual fans. At low (non-zero) percentages they are operate at about 20% higher than they're set to, at mid-level percentages, they're 10-15% higher than they're set to, and at high percentages they're about 5% higher, never exceeding 100%, so it's almost like the percentage they're off by is set to its own curve, leveling off the higher they're set. This happens regardless of whether I set the fan speed manually to a static percentage, use the default "auto" fan curve, or set up a fan curve myself.

This is, quite literally, what PX1 version 1.1.1 fixes on Nvidia driver versions 457.09 and newer. But you have to be on 457.09/30 (or newer). My guess is that on older drivers is that it won't read correctly - as Nvidia changed something in the drivers that PX1 1.1.1 had to compensate for.

Ah ok. I should have clarified that I'm still on driver 456.71. I've been waiting on a more stable release to update past that, since I've read about a lot of problems (unrelated to the fan curve issue) with the 457 drivers. That's probably the issue then. Thanks!

It's not listed as 30 series only now, so it should.

I thought I read somewhere that the memory could "work" with unstable speeds but not necessarily offer more performance at that point. I would be surprised if +1000 produced benchmark results indicative of +1000.

Until I updated my Nvidia driver to the latest version, 1.1.1 actually broke my fans. #3 was always on. Updating to the new driver fixed that and fans work normally. However, I can run the overclock scan and get dynamite numbers - think I got a really good 3090 FTW Ultra lottery - but I can’t seem to save and recall the overclock. Doesn’t seem to “stick”. Worked great with my 2080Ti but I have yet to be able to store and recall a profile that has an overclock. On loading any saved profile it always defaults back to the stock curve. Anyone else have this issue? Seems X1 is always buggy for some time after a new card release.

I thought this was now stored on the driver level and not X1 from my understanding ? This was they wouldn’t have to create a new version of X1 every week or two. Is precision running as admin?

haven't gotten a response from EVGA and my Card is still over heating and 1 fan at 100% on load. This hasn't helped. Should I just return the card to best buy?

Other folks fixed this problem by uninstalling PX1. Then rebooting. Then reinstalling PX1. Also, if you have afterburner and PX1 running at the same time, that may cause this problem.

Thanks for the tips, I tried (selecting to erase any previous configuration at uninstall) but sadly I'm still experiencing BSOD at wake-up when PX1 is running. I never installed AfterBurner on this machine.

BoumShagala Thanks for the tips, I tried (selecting to erase any previous configuration at uninstall) but sadly I'm still experiencing BSOD at wake-up when PX1 is running. I never installed AfterBurner on this machine.
I believe some other folks fixed the problem by going into the motherboard BIOS and setting the GPU slots PCIE setting from Auto to Force Gen3 (or Gen4 if your motherboard & processor supports it). Also, downgrading to Nvidia driver 456.71 or hotfix 456.98 may also help. Another fix might be to go into the Nvidia control panel, 3d settings, and changing the power plan to "prefer maximum performance." The card won't downclock very often (if at all).

Turned on my pc today, and was getting poor performance in games. Narrowed it down to the power slider in Px1 being turned all the way down, not sure how that happened. Anyone get this issue before? I was able to reload my profile and it works as normal.

We've added a new version of PX1: Precision X1 v1.1.1:
- Improves compatibility with GeForce Game Ready Driver 457.09
This should resolve fan profile issues that people encountered with 457.09. Please let us know if you experience any issues.
Will there be a newer version of PX1 soon? I'm getting nvlddmkm.sys failed every time I boot the first time every day. Idk what the hell is going on but I only get a stable boot with the launch graphics driver version(456.71).

I have this issue if i have precision open and put the PC to sleep it will wake up with my keyboard lit and tower then before i even see the windows screen it restarts instead. I've been troubleshooting this for a very long time to only find out it's because of precision, here i've been messing with Windows Power and sleep settings forever. I have a fairly similar issue, although the fan issues appear to follow the card. Meaning if I plug it into another computer, I get the same result. Even without Precision X1 running, as soon as my GPU gets above 83 degrees, fans 1 and 2 go to 100% and stay there until I exit the game/benchmark. The only way Ive countered this is to drop the voltage using Afterburner and downclocking it to keep it under 80 degrees.
