So I noticed my 3rd fan on my RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra shot up to 100% for a sec, and come back down. Is this normal? Or a glitch in the software? Never noticed this in their previous version. I'm using the latest version of their software.

Most likely a glitch since it was only a single spike.

I uninstalled the software, reinstalled it and still it does it. It's weird. Happens a second and that's it. Very strange.

Did you hear the fan spinning at 100%? Seems to be a glitch in X1 instead.

Never heard it to be honest. I did have my headphones on. This time, the weird glitch in the fan 3 didn't happen. I can only assume it's the software glitching out at random times. Luckily the 3rd fan doesn't stay at 100%... that would be terrible.

So it did it again. I'm playing Valheim. So not sure why the software is glitching out making the 3rd fan run 100% that quick second. Hopefully the EVGA team is aware of this bug and hopefully fixes it. It wasn't present in their recent version to the software.

Yeah you would hear it.  That's the same sensor glitch that's occurring with most 30-series cards that have iCX sensors I'd wager - randomly spikes that only last a split second (and aren't really happening) to 6500+C on the readouts, and fans going to crazy numbers for a split-second as well.  It's only a sensor/readout glitch, the fan isn't actually spiking that hard (pretty sure it's actually impossible for them to spike that hard).

I would highly recommend you setup a custom fan curve with steps instead of letting the card control the fans itself.  Set the highest speed it will go to to a speed that is just under "Too loud" for you, and set that speed to take place at around 60C, then step it down 25% or so for less than 60C, and so on.  This is how mine is setup, but it should be noted that A: I have great airflow, B: It's a Kingpin card on the 360mm AIO cooling & C: my temps never go high enough to trigger the 100% fan speed:

You can do the same sort of steps in Precision X1, I believe you just have to double click the fan control graph & it will change from how it is be default to "steps".  The reason behind doing the step-method instead of a gradient is it results in less fan-speed changes - the part that's most audible to most people is constant changes in speed, the less often your fan changes speed, the less you'll notice.

I'll for sure consider setting up a fan curve. If this weird glitch with the 3rd fan keeps happening. I'll have to setup the fan curve. My airflow is pretty good as well. The temps to the GPU get pretty low on idle, which is great. I guess I'll set up the fan curve to spool up the fans at 60 Degree's C and get faster as it gets hotter. Hopefully EVGA fixes this. It seems the 30 series has nothing but issues with their drivers or software lol.

This particular issue, if it is the sensor spikes, is an NVidia Driver issue, unsure if eVGA can do anything to fix it since they didn't cause it in the first place.  It was not present on the initial release drivers, but then was on every driver since then, from what I understand.

Apparently Kingpins are immune to it, because I haven't had the issue once since getting mine & running it on the 461.40 drivers.

Ah I see, could explain it. The nvidia drivers has been nothing but headaches lately. I'm using their new hotfix 461.51. Their previous versions has been giving me an error: nvlddmkm.sys. Screen would go black and come back to normal. Then that error will appear in event viewer. The hotfix so far has corrected this. Now I guess the 3rd fan is being glitchy. Hopefully there is a fix coming sometime soon haha...
