Greetings,

So I received my 2 FREE EVGA Powerlink adaptors today and now have them both installed. So I decided I would do a very brief write up on what I think and what to expect for those who are still waiting for theirs or considering a purchase.

First of all, packaging was great and they arrived in perfect condition. Ideal packaging for shipping +1 EVGA Thanks.
As for the powerlinks themselves. They succeed in doing what they are advertise for, helping with cable management. With the exception of 2 gripes I have, the product is absolutely ideal and definitely something that adds to my case aesthetics.

1. The EVGA logo on the front of the powerlink (essentially where the power connectors to your graphics card is when not using a powerlink) is dark and nigh impossible to see if your not shining a flashlight onto it. This would have been a perfect circumstance in which to take advantage of LED lighting. Not even RGB (which would be a double + mind you), but even a static white or green LED backlighting would have added a lot of character and aesthetic quality to the powerlink (afterall aesthetics is the purpose of it in the first place).
2. Marking/Indicators of connector positions for different EVGA graphics card in the pascal series. What I mean by this, is that the powerlink is designed to be used with various EVGA cards, unfortunately that requires the end user to change power connectors and using tiny bolts and included alan wrench you adjust the connector locations along an electrically conductive aluminum bar that is covered by 2 removable rubber sheets. The end user is required to measure their own graphics card and the distance between power connectors (if you have more than one) and so on and so forth. This would have been much easier if EVGA included small markers under the rubber covering that corresponds to different cards in this years line up. By doing so the end user would not need to pull out that ruler/measuring tape and measure 2-3 different measurements down to the millimetre in order to maintain ideal aesthetics and have the connectors line up perfectly.

Those 2 gripes aside, the EVGA Powerlink is a welcome addition to EVGA accessory options available for their graphics cards and motherboards. In the future I will continue to use Powerlinks with my EVGA graphics card as they do achieve the intended purpose and look great.

Not sure about anyone else.  But I just installed my powerlink (on GTX 1080 FTW) and now there is a variable high-pitched squeal coming out of my system that wasn't there before, and it made that sound without any kind of load.  I also installed an SSD at the same time but I don't know how that could have caused the noise, especially since it did no such thing in the last computer it was in.  In any case, as cool as the Powerlink is from an aesthetic point of view, I think I'm going to have to remove it.

I would definitely remove the powerlink and see if that stops the issue. Sounds almost like a coil whine (usually associated with power supplies). I am not sure if the Powerlinks contain copper coils but the whine is more likely associated with the Powerlink than an SSD. If the issue does persist after removing the Powerlink then try disconnecting the power to the SSD (though I would be surprised if the sound was emanating from the SSD). If the issue continues to persist after that I can say with near certainty it is likely your PSU.

If it turns out the be the PowerLink I'm sure EVGA will swap it out for you without any issue. They are fantastic when it comes to these kinds of things. I have been using my Powerlinks for 5 days now and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever. So you may just have a bad one, but I can assure you it is not a product wide defect.
