Has anything changed for those still on Sandy? If not then I don't have a reason to update. I've been running on A121 for awhile now with no issues.

I have tried to update the BIOS with the R16 update but I keep getting an error: "The system cannot find the path specified. 'fptw64" is not recognized as an internal or external operable program or batch file" This arises when I try to run the fptwin64.bat file as administrator available from the p67 FTW link. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

I just finished my i7 build with the z68 board. My current bios is version 1.05 and am unable to set manual CPU voltage. Is anyone having any major problems with the R16 version? Everything is working great as is except for OC so I don't want to update if I'm going to have issues. Maybe I'll flash R16 into bios profile 2 and leave 1.05 in profile 1 just in case? Any feedback would be great. I wanna see what this board and 2600K will do!!

Please do try flashing the BIOS on one profile and leave a profile with known working BIOS and let us know. I tried R16 and left a working BIOS I needed it too the R16 would not boot at all and there were menus in the BIOS that locked up completely, the BIOS itslef had a sense of working but it wouldn't boot the operating system. I just used the known working BIOS profile you can switch the pin after the operating system has booted up. In this thread others have had similar experiences so try it out and post back if you can get it working or not.

R16 flashed and boots to windows fine with default settings. I flashed using the USB drive method because doing it within windows failed. I am having one very weird problem when overclocking. Im using a 2600k. I set the multiplier to 40 up the voltage to 1.3v and left my memory config on default because XMP profile 1 caused windows not to boot. (post code 51) After making these changes and rebooting, windows no longer recognizes my onboard network card and will not connect to the internet..... I find this very weird because If i change the settings back to default, it works as it should. Is there some settings that I am missing when OC'ing? Please help guys! But as I said R16 works on my z68 FTW w/ 2600k on default settings flashed with USB method. EDIT: I was able to get my system to run with 45x multi @ 1.3v (4.5ghz)!!!!!! Ran stable on about 30 min of LinX and netowrk adapter is now recognized... not sure if that was just a fluke or not but I will continue to run stress test overnight and report back tomorrow. tried 50x multi for ****s an giggles real quick but could not get it to even boot with voltages ranging from 1.3-1.5. Will post all my settings on my stable clock if all goes well.

When you booted into the bios did you notice the highlight is red not yellow now and the ufi pages seem plain and blah compared to the bios. I can not get overclock voltages for the CPU adjusted. I am going to try to reflash.

I can not get overclock voltages for the CPU adjusted. I am going to try to reflash. , Are you asking me if I am running the R16 version? Yes, red highlight, new ufi and shows correct version under BIOS info. How did you flash your BIOS? The only way I was able to get it done was thru USB method. Also, I did not download my BIOS files from EVGA. For some reason after I downloaded the files and tried to extract them using WinRar, it said the directory was corrupt. Even after re-downloading. I ended up downloading from Softpedia, flashing with USB drive and viola. I have been playing Black Ops 2 and BF3 @ max settings for 3+ hours with no issues. As I said before I tried to get 5.0ghz by only changing the multiplier and CPU voltage and could not get my system to boot. I am not sure what other settings to change just yet but I will do more research and see how high i can get it. As of right now I am still running 45x multi @ 1.3 volts at a stable 50°C max using a Corsair H60.

No problem at all glad to help. And if anyone is interested in helping me OC to 5.0ghz my ears are open ;). One thing I do want to mention is that my system would not boot using XMP profiles. No clue why, but i manually set to my manufactures settings and it worked fine. Seems to be some issues that definitely need ironed out. Hopefully EVGA support will continue to help us get this BIOS to what it should be.

Well..... I am having some weird issues that I need some input on. I have my multi set to 46 and voltage at 1.315v. Boots fine, but when I run any stress test or put any type of load on my CPU, EVGA E-Leet shows that my multi changes to 41. When I take the load off, it goes back to 46??? Am I missing something here? I wish someone would put out a new overclocking guide for R16 BIOS because the previous guide has a much different setup.

I fliped the switch and went back to the Bios before this one. This bios is flaky new settings with no explanation and you really have no control over the votages. My mem has always had to be manually set but I loaded defaults dove in and drowned. 56 or 53 every time. I think it was ment for the newer CPUs and you have to go to the z boards site to learn their mojo with the bios. I can't wait my wife is finally buying me my 3930 CPU and I can build my new X79 setup.

Understandable. I'm going to mess with it for a little while longer and see what I can do. I read today that Turbo mode and/or an overvolting setting can cause the CPU to "downclock" itself. But just incase I have no luck, what BIOS are you running and are you able to overclock?

Ahh, well that BIOS isn't available for the z68 board. I'm assuming it will not work for my board? I tired using the previous BIOS (a05) but it will not let me overclock at all and it is a known issue. The r16 version was supposed to fix that.......... obviously no luck there. I really wish that they would get a proper BIOS released for this board. I bought this board because of the capabilities that its supposed to have, and I can't even use them.

Okay so, the flash goes in without an issue, but the OC tweaking is way different and I'm having the same issue as someone mentioned above... my 2600k is locked at 1.6Ghz and I can't figure out what to change to let it utilize turbo, vcore, and multi without blue screening. Any word on this?

If you guys figure out a fix let me know please. I am having a similar issue with my CPU being throttled when overclocked. Only thing I tried was a program called Throttlestop, but did not help. Any info would be great.

I had the problem of my 3770 being stuck at default speed even after setting a higher multiplier. I won't be back at my system to confirm my settings for a few days, but try these settings:
Vdroop: disable Internal vll voltage overage: enable C1e support: disable Eist: disable Turbo mode: enable
One of these caused my CPU not to manually change multiplier. I would set multiplier, reboot, go back into bios, and multiplier I set was still set but CPU was running stock speed.

I have been running solid on my P67 FTW with A121, at 4.7GHz for almost a year, so I am not really trying to reflash, unless there is a big difference. I am curious as to what the PCI-E improvements are to see if there is a reason for me to upgrade or hold tight. Thanks !
