BF4 conquest 64 man is empty right now, wth?

Im gone for 1 week and everything just falls apart?

The gaming events are for marketing only. It's not to build a gaming community. They give the community no incentive to care about the servers when no event is going on.  It doesn't matter if the servers empty for weeks or months, evga will still host a gaming event. You can't blame the community for gaming the system just like everyone else that only shows up when evga hosts an event.

sinned.
The conquest server was full every night. We even had the 32 man DLC rush,CTF, Oblit and the 64man DLC Conquest going a couple nights.

Not according to game tracker it wasn't full every night.

The poor EU BF4 server was dead pretty much the whole event. The EU BF3 received the most traffic out of all the BF3/BF4 servers. EVGA might want to move the BF4 server to that location to see if it has the same success.

I have a few idea that would populate the servers more but not sure if evga would be up to it or if the server admins would be up for it too.

I think the main reason for an active EU BF3 standard map server was the recent free giveaway of the standard edition of BF3 by Electronic Arts and many wanted to give it a shot. Unfortunatly this also attracted some cheaters that got this version of BF on a separate account and email address. Most of it was tackled at some point with moderation and a 3rd party web-app that looks into this.

In the future i would like to see the other DLC's hosted on this same server. This would make me a regular customer as my interest in this game hasn't faded yet. I hope that the hoster is willing to look into this. There might also be less cheating involved with this change, because there will be less standard 'throw-away' accounts.

Cya on the field when this happens!

Re: EVGA October Feast Gaming Event 2014/11/05 11:48:29 (permalink)
Last time I played BF3 I was getting shot from nowhere all the time and got bored and left.  I don't immediately blame aim bot or cheats but it always could happen in FPSes which is why in general I tend to not play them any more.  But sometimes the gaming is good in BF3.  It really depends on the players.

I think FPS games are better left to consoles that have better anti cheat protection.  It is much more difficult to cheat in an FPS on an xbox one than on a PC.  Still, people find ways to exploit the USB and do some stuff but it doesn't appear to be extremely common especially since they could get their whole entire console banned from xbl.

The big problem with fps on pc appears to be that if you can run it windowed, you're definitely going to have cheaters.  The aim bot program I checked out (which I don't use by the way), relied on windowed game console and aiming at colors which would point the mouse curser automatically at other players.  I just got it to see how people cheat and then I pretty much was done at that point and played a lot less fps and moved on to different genres of games.  Pretty disappointing that they make it so easy for people to find these cheats these days but not every group of gamers uses them.

The psychology of the thing is, people whom are proficient at cheating have lots and lots of fun.  The people who are getting cheated against have no fun at all.  It pretty much breaks all game mechanics and makes the game pointless to play.

As far as I am concerned, cheating is great if you have your cheats and you are NOT playing the game online.  Then you can do whatever you want.  But when playing online, it is pretty low of a gamer to make the gaming experience an abomination for other gamers.  I pretty much stray from it.  I remember in Halo 2 on xbox 1, you couldn't do anything without people sniping through walls so I played it online maybe two whole times and stopped.  I'd rather play solitaire on a windows 3.0 system than waste all my time with cheaters in an fps.

I think it is a good way to go though since it makes the prizes for people that actually are into the building hobby.  Although I won once on one that was the standard facebook like promotion, still I have purchased lots of eVGA products myself and my workstation at work was an eVGA build as well.

This company makes really nice looking products and does good QC.  So I haven't had to second guess.  Recommend to others? well yes. :)
