After a hiatus with nothing but OSX systems in the home, I have convinced myself to build a Windows system to function as a home server and occasional game system.  I have a few EATX X79 boards and components laying around now, but want to go with ITX for the footprint.

After several years of typically going with another manufacturer for video cards and motherboards due to warranty and price issues, I was overjoyed to see EVGA began providing 36 months of warranty to an item regardless of where it was purchased.  As a result, I am looking around at the Z77, Z87, and Z97 Stinger models.

I have a 2500k laying around that would do anything I need it to for a good bit of time, making Z77 look attractive.  Design wise, I like the physical appearance of the Z97 board the most.  Feature wise, I do not need m.2, but would ideally like to see two mPCIE or m.2 inputs, one for an SSD and one for a wireless card.  As expected with the physical space mITX provides, none of the boards can do that.

I can figure out the financial cost of the three and come up with a conclusion, but I am curious if you all have any strong opinion as to why I should consider one over the other.

Thanks!

What kind of case are you looking for?  Several options out there now for the SFF design.  I like compact.  Haven't tried the EVGA Hadron series yet but will probably go with one of them for the next build that I do.  My main rig case is the Ncase M1 but that one is a hard one to get.  The Raven RVZ01 is a good case as well but limited on AIO Size cooling.  Here are a few case options that are good for the small form factor.

    Raven RVZ01

    Corsair

    EVGA Hadron

    Bitfenix Prodigy

    Inwin D-frame

These are just a few of what is out there.  Silverstone and Lian-Li have several options as well as Bitfenix.  There is a new one coming out that looking very interesting but cannot remember the name of it.  Oh yeah, it's the T60-SFX by ID-Cooling.  Nice looking case.

Nice!  I hear that the Hadron is a nice case to build with.  If I went with the Hadron,I would go with the Hydro because I prefer liquid cooling.  Even if using an All in one closed loop cooling.  Easier for mounting that kind of setup.
