Here are some of the first pictures of the EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 and FTW3 air-cooled graphics cards in the flesh. The XC3 forms EVGA's more affordable RTX 3090 offering, while the FTW3 will be the company's premium air-cooled product. There will be liquid-cooled products based on the same PCB as the FTW3, as well as overclocker-segment products under EVGA's Kingpin collaboration.

The EVGA RTX 3090 XC3 features a simpler dual-slot cooling solution that uses a trio of fans. The card is 11 cm of (standard full-height) tall. It draws power from no more than two 8-pin PCIe power inputs. The card is expected to tick at NVIDIA-reference clock speeds for the RTX 3090, and its non-overclocked variant could be priced close to NVIDIA's $1,499 baseline price. The FTW3, on the other hand, features a meaty triple-slot cooling solution that's at least an inch taller than full-height. The cooler makes lavish use of chrome and RGB LED elements. The PCB uses a meatier VRM solution that pulls power from three 8-pin PCIe power inputs.

Three 150W 8-pin PCIe power inputs plus 75W from the PCIe slot itself for a possible total of only 525W..Love it!

They do look really nice, and I'm sure that they're fast. It's just too bad Nividia upped the MSRP another $300 compared to it's (per Jen-Hsun Huang) predecessor, the 2080 Ti FE.

A 3080 Ti variant for the same MSRP as the 1080 Ti coming when AMD releases Big Navi? One can dream.

Sorry you were misinformed, but that's not the case per the CEO.

There IS a new RTX Titan coming out, though: https://www.tweaktown.com...d-over-3000/index.html There was also some vlogger who has some pictures, and was teasing more to come - but I can't find it atm.

Interesting. Since in the 3000 release video he said the 3090 was the new Titan. And a quick google search hasnt shown any new article or quote from him to change that fact in the last 2 weeks. Do you have a source from him stating otherwise?

Can someone figure out how long these bad bois are using the 8-pins to measure? lol
    I'm getting about 15.5 8-pins. Maybe about 295-305mm or about 1'

So EVGA is just using the backplate to cool the memory chips on the backside of the card?

To be fair, he said "Titan-class". That is not an exact replacement for Titan actually. People will eat that and thinking that it's the Titan priced at $1499, however it seems like the replacement for 2080 Ti is 3090 and MSRP increased by $300.

3090 is like a Prosumer card this time with the 24GB of GDDR6X, however I would love them to release 82SM card with a lower memory instead at $1199 or something but the whole point is to upsell 3090 to old 2080 Ti customers anyway.

Yep, it even says so on the 3090 FE landing page - "The GeForce RTX™ 3090 is a big ferocious GPU (BFGPU) with TITAN class performance."

    https://www.nvidia.com/en...ds/30-series/rtx-3090/

To the best of my knowledge, it also has 1/2 speed (if that's the correct way of describing it) tensor cores, unlike the RTX Titan, among a few other things that the Titan cards have that the gaming line doesn't.

Exactly. Ryan Smith from Anandtech confirmed that. He's expecting a real Ampere Titan because of this butchering. 3090 is not a Titan and it was obvious from the start (presentation). GeForce and Titan are two different brands, and 3090 is at most a Prosumer card with 24GB of RAM.

It looks like I can use the Powerlink on the RTX 3090 XC3.  Can someone from EVGA confirm power would not be an issue pairing it with a Powerlink for cable management?

I would think they would fit as long as the card is only required to use 2 power connections.

Really surprised not one manufacturer has a shorter 2-fan config version ....

I think for the 3090 size isn't going to be an issue as a lot are going in full sized towers.

The nice thing about having a diskless system is that I have so much space in my 500R to accommodate this gigantic GPU. Though I'm pretty sure it'd fit even with my second drive tray wasn't removed.

I loaded RDR2 earlier, and started cranking up options before hitting the VRAM limitation on my 1080. The game looks amazing with mostly high settings while standing still (potato level FPS with a 1080 at 4k). But a number of those options being locked out because of VRAM reaffirms my plan to grab the 3090. My 780 was lacking in VRAM. MY 1080 is fine for non-4K stuff, but lacking again. I'd like to avoid the issue entirely with the 3090. I'm sure when GTA VI and other gen 5 titles roll out, I'll be enjoying the 3090 overall.
