streamroller Lot of misinformed people here. If u want your 3090 to draw close to TDP ( 500W) make voltage 1.100mV and +1000 memory. Also you may lost silicon lottery aswell. No need to cry. My 400W bios 3080 FTW peaking 407W and scored 12.6K on port royal for example
There is a very large problem with early 3090's that evga do not want to address. I could take a screenshot of my Port Royal running +1000 mem +200 core with a max of 440w but im done with this faulty batch of cards. If you don't know what you are talking about and have no real world experience on the matter then please don't spread misinformation as this doesn't help the people who are currently stuck with these faulty cards. My old 3090 shunted eagle now pull's 500w and that was one of the cheapest 3090's on the market, i wish i kept that instead of giving it to my brother.
If that will be a large problem Evga would adress it. My cousin's ftw3 can go 470W easy. So if u think ur card cant do 500W then RMA.

Currently trying to RMA like many others with this problem but the fact they fail to acknowledge it is insulting to us consumers spending $3100aud. Just did that run then with a closed case + heater on in the room but you get the idea, 447w is as much as i can get to pull worked out to be 108% on the power chart with a slight OC.

hartmanjasonm Same here. I can push it to 185 mhz on my FTW Ultra 3080, but the stable sweetspot seems to be a ~135-145 mhz uplift. My FE is a much better binned GPU and easily walks all over my EVGA card. :/
What was your record on your FE @hartmanjasonm?

bford2424 Yeah the ftw3090 has been disappointing given it’s price point. Doesn’t compare to the Strix. I feel like I’ve been ripped off
Try flashing the Strix Bios? ;)

Go to TechPowerUp and look for your GPU BIOS, they have a collection of every EVGA BIOS.

Husky_ Hello, I just finally got my hands on the RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra and flashed the BIOS to the beta one. No matter what I do, my clock speed won't go above 2055 without it being unstable. I feel that things don't have any effects on the clock speed: -Changing the power limit to 118% or leaving it at 100% won't make a difference. -Changing voltage to +100 won't make any difference or any more stable even +20 on the core clock won't make it stable. I ran Furmark just to see if it's my PSU but it worked fine and GPU-Z reported 463W board usage. My PSU is EVGA G2 1000W. I tried different benchmarks and even the Port Royal 3D mark test and my score is 11600 compared to 12500 that others have. My CPU is I9 9900K OC'ed @5Ghz. My brother has the cheaper XC3 and GPU runs the same as my frequency and I just find it unfair to pay that extra money and get the same exact performance as cheaper cards. I would have gotten the XC3 if I knew that. I know it lottery and luck and that +50Mhz won't make a difference but just want to know if I am doing something wrong or missing something. Any ideas or help would be appreciated!
None of what you said makes a difference IF YOUR TEMPERATURES ARE HIGH.

Can we please, pretty please, get a new BIOS update for the 3080 XC3 Ultra? The power limit is a bit absurd right now.

I get 12680 with a lower tier 320w bios 65c, my card just runs too hot 85c with this 450w bios.. I have to wait for a water block before I can even attempt to use 450w..

Hmm, although the Watts increased the overall performance decreased. It this a volt / heat issue? Does anyone have any recommended settings? GPU-Z shows temp capped out at 76C.

When temps go up so will wattage, the hotter the gpu gets the more leakage it will have and be less efficient. Heat doesn't do gpus any good the cooler the better. I won't be using this 450w bios again until I can get my hands on a water block,

streamroller Lot of misinformed people here. If u want your 3090 to draw close to TDP ( 500W) make voltage 1.100mV and +1000 memory. Also you may lost silicon lottery aswell. No need to cry. My 400W bios 3080 FTW peaking 407W and scored 12.6K on port royal for example
How does this translate to average FPS in actual games? I'm considering returning my XC3 in order to get a FTW3 but I get the feeling real world performance is negligible. Please advise.

In my opinion there is nothing in it between the XC3 and the FTW3 maybe a few fps when both are overclocked, I have the ftw3 ultra, it's not all about watts it's voltage too, these cards are more than likely locked to 1.093v or somewhere very near that. No matter how many watts you pull, the clocks will be limited by voltage and heat.

Okay, I'm mainly asking because I get 17775-17970 on Time Spy on a good day undervolted 1950mhz @ 0.9v, but on Metro Exodus I hit the power cap constantly. I'd assume the FTW3 won't and it makes me wonder how many FPS I'm losing because of this. Clock hovers around 1820-1890mhz when it should be at 1950mhz. 320W is starting to make me reconsider things.

I will give Metro Exodus a go with my current msi x trio bios, and then flash this beta 450w xoc bios, I will put power sliders etc on max but no overclocks, I will record it and sling it on youtube.. Just did a test on Timespy (Msi x trio 320w bios 17988 pts vs xoc 450w bios 17837) with my Evga Ultra, I've recorded them both but don't know if I'm allowed to post youtube links on here. strange how it pulls 100watts more but gets less points Lol....

Interesting... could you please share with us your VF curve (on your Msi x trio) or something? It's unbelievable the extent you have to go to get comparable performance to other brands with this card. Without undervolting, I could never go above 1900 mhz. FE has a max power limit of 370W.

It's just stock curves, the Timespy results are graphics points not overall, I prob lose quite a few fps from shadow play but the 320w X trio bios on ftw3 ulta hxxps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6CkD22-rnc and 450w xoc bios on ftw3 ultra hxxps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94GKDeMWAyQ don't think they have finished uploading yet.

Thank you for the reply. What benchmark are folks using? Should I see a constant 107% TDP? What is a reasonable deviation? Are folks with issues never pulling more then 390w?

Hi your in the 3080 section I don't know too much about the 3090s, but we use ( 3dmark ) normally port royal is a good test for gpu only with rtx..

Have you tried the xoc 450w ultra bios from this thread? I would imagine its just a ftw3 ultra with a water block.
