Hey, I just received a standard EVGA 1070 ACX 3.0 thank's to the step-up programm EVGA has. I'm amazed that boost clock manages to go up to 1898MHz. I wasn't aware it would go further than specs. While fans are running quiet at 40%, keeping the card running at 61-63°C at full load and room temperature around 30°C, clock manages to stay at 1860MHz (vs. 1835MHz at 73°C on silence mode). Everyone talks about reaching 2kMHz but I'm really afraid tu push any slider apart from the fans... The card is beautiful and is a nice upgrade from my 970 FTW, I am more than happy. Thank you EVGA Team !

I've had my EVGA 1080 SC in my computer(NZXT Phantom 630 Windowed case with stock fans + one extra on the AIO radiator.) for about 3 weeks now and i have to say this thing is a beast. Without any overclocking and just setting up a fan curve that might be a tad aggressive( ~20% fan speed at 20c, ~40% at 40c etc) I'm able to max out the Witcher 3 in 1080p at max settings with Hairworks On 4x AA Hairworks and still hit 60fps solidly and only at a max of 64-68c in high load. All while the GPU is near constantly boosting into the upper 1900's mhz range while playing it, with my highest boost being 2012mhz. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better card though it would have been nice if the SC had the RGB lighting on it too but it doesn't real matter since the leds in my case kinda drown out the card's white leds.

The wife picked up a EVGA 1080 FTW while I'm stuck at an airport with a delayed flight. Can't wait to get home and try it out. I was going to wait for a Classified, but no idea when that will be released in Canada.
The FTW will replace my 2x 670s, so now I can pick up the x34 screen again, with the 670s I was having issues with screen tearing

I also realized that i was discouraged about this model ... if you want a mod can use the standard heatsink the memories and vrm with a xtreme IV accelero with its huge sink behind the PCB.

Hi EVGA,
my review about the accessories is very fast and easy -> the same than every series. =) Especially for the FTW and Classified series it would be nice if there will be a special goodie in the package like a T-Shirt or something like that, lightning PCI-E EVGA power adapter cable or anything other cool stuff. Maybe a special poster of the FTW/Classified series. Whatevs, but it will be very boring. I like to pimp my case with evga stuff, but i can't get this stuff from you. I can't understand why the case badge is the same as from 900 series. Unfortunaely the offer of accesories like shirts in europe shop were also very poor.

I'm very impressed with my 1070 FTW. I'm boosting to 2012mhz on stock setup, sometimes when not being pushed it will hover at 1986-1999 but Heaven Benchmark can keep it at 2012mhz. The card through hours of Overwatch doesn't get over 61 degrees for me. Is the auto fan profile good for this card?

The 372 series on Win 10 anniversary have a problem if used with high refresh monitors, that is, in this case over 120Hz. 120Hz is actually fine. What happens is screen flicker, it's so bad at first I thought my GPU was a lemon! It also breaks G-Sync for some, but I haven't tried that. Basically People with a Pascal and 144Hz monitor with Win 10 anniversary update are affected. There are numerous work arounds. The most popular is simply going into NVCP or monitor menu switching to 120Hz or 60Hz then back to full refresh completely gets rid of it. Thing is, that gets annoying after a while. Have to do it on any wake, or reboot. A lot (myself included) are sticking with the "only from MS update driver NV driver 369.09 (not available on NV site! ****!!) This problem has been fully acknowleged by Nvdia and they say they are working on it. What's a bit murky is if this issue is in part due to MS. In fact NV stated they are working on it closely with MS. I won't bore you with the suspected reason, and doesn't really matter as it will be fixed - but two huge companies involved (probably) I think it might be a while for us to get this fixed. I am not too bothered as 369.09 is good, but missing out on any enhancements from 372.XX. I wish NV would prioritize good stable drivers first, then special "game ready," drivers. But for many years I have had no issue with graphics drivers. A lot of it is user error. If you want to know more (I've put it all in nutshell above) there are several threads about it on NV forums, also on EVGA forums, probably more. But about 80% of the posts are meaningless rants which doesn't help one bit. So, I am annoyed by it, but it's no more than an irritation really. Nothings broken totally, and as said NV have clearly said they are working on it. Should say, a tiny no. of people who claim to have 144Hz monitors say they don't experience it. Maybe true, but I am sceptical, especially as NV admit it's a problem.

I had this problem, but RMA 1070 ftw and my Dell monitor S2716DG After the exchange, and Install the Latest driver, I do not have the problem for now. One thing that annoys me is the flashing screen background, as if the screen backlight was moving as if he defects, see it mainly in fire strike.

Well, good on ya! Seems you have it sorted, maybe, but I'm not totally sure if you mean flashing screens bit was before and now gone, or flashing screens still occur? But if you do still get flashing screens, even slightly, then it's not you hardware. Flashing screens are one of the issues that occur with Pascal + 144Hz + Win 10 anniversary edition + any 372.xx NV drivers. I agree about fire strike. Fire strike was flashing like crazy when I used 372. 54 then 372.70, didn't bother with the very latest 372.90 as according to NV site that particular issue is still a work in progress. There absolutely should never be flashing screens, especially after an RMA and top quality Hardware like you have. I am on 369.09 (only available via windows update), but the downloadable one from NV - 368.XX is fine.(I think, can't remember last pre 372.xx downloadable from NV site.) But basically anything before 372.xx Won't cause this. BTW I never have any flashing screens or any problem at all with the driver I'm using, so not in a hurry to update. But anyone with a 144Hz monitor, Pascal, Win 10 who notices this can easily reinstall an earlier driver - pre 372.xx. That's it. I should say I have a single GPU so those with SLI I have no idea.

Maybe i expressed myself badly, the screen does not flash, but the screen image light is not consistent, it happened before and it still happens now, i believe it is the same driver failure.

But basically anything before 372.xx Won't cause this.
Hey, thanks man totally clear. I guess you are right about driver, especially as you have a new monitor, and your image light is also a mentioned driver problem on NV forums. Seems to affect different high refresh monitors slightly different, mainly flicker. NV & MS are working on it (I hope) that's according to NV. Don't hold your breath for a fix! You could try 368.XX or 369.09 from MS. (NV don't have it for dl) if it's a real irritation. Those drivers have no issues at all, well not for me anyway. Nice monitor btw. Dell S2716DG. I like Dell for their reliability and above average cust. support. My impression is that Dell are expensive, or used to be, probably as they have many business customers. Have they lowered prices overall? My monitor is wonderful too! But the Acer IPS 144Hz G-Sync didn't come cheap. I expect a good five years service from it - at least! Oh and Acer support is almost non-existent here in Japan I hear, but never used it. EVGA is probably the best standard for that. Just a shame about Precision xoc software. Ha Ha.
