My bios version is "86.06.13.00.60". I still have a problem with precision oc. What can I do? Are you going to upload the new bios?
Thanks

EVGA_JacobF Links removed as this update is no longer necessary. All cards have been shipping with this BIOS or newer since July.
I bought my GTX 1060 6GB SC Gaming (06G-P4-6163-KR) in late August, and it have the old bios. I never got around to download the new BIOS before the link was dead. I would be grateful if you could put the 0dB BIOS up again. please :)

georgi4a an dWiker, I see you both have registered cards that I could confirm so I've sent you the proper firmware for your cards. For anyone else who wants the lowered fan speed firmware for a 1060 single fan model, please register your card and submit a ticket requesting the proper firmware. Thanks!

I think this bios killed my fan? I used it probably 2-3 days after it was originally posted, and it seemed to work fine for a while. Now my fan no longer spins up. I've tried switching drivers, manually settings the fan profile to aggressive, but the fan just won't spin in our out of game, regardless or manual or auto fan settings in precision x. I noticed my games got laggy lately and checked the temps, and it was at 100c! Precision X slider moves up like the fan is working, but it says 0 RPM the whole time. I've confirmed it's not spinning up by taking off the side panel in all the scenarios above. Any ideas?

Links are taken down because a BIOS update is no longer required? What about those of us who have cards from before the new BIOS was factory installed?

Hi, I have a GTX 1060 Gaming 6GB 06G-P4-6161-KR. My VGA came standard with bios 86.06.27.00.60, but my fan is TURN OFF ALL THE TIME, VGA REACHES 70ºC AND THE FAN REMAINS OFF... the fan only works with precision x or afterburn running, i believe its related to bios and not a defect of the CARD, i sent email to support@evga.com but was not answered... i need the Bios update version 86.06.27.01.60 to my fan return to function correctly. Sorry for my bad english. Thx

To those on AMD, you could just get nvflash and flash it with -6 to override the errors. (nvflash -6 biosnamehere.rom)

I am running the EVGA Precision XOC 6.0.8.0 and every time I go into it it errors and closes down right away. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and it's still doing it. This is the card I'm running EVGA GeForce GTX 1060. Is there another way to manually control the fan without using this program? I really want to find a fix for this. I am using a Intel i7 processor. Any way to fix it?

This Precision XOC software is worthless. It dies after ten seconds and says the program has quit working. Once in a while it works after you try to open it a bunch of times. I think AMD has better software for their video cards.

Well maybe just maybe try MSI Afterburner. Question is: Did you do a proper uninstall of the software you have? Download CCleaner (Free version available) and clean up the registry. Another alternative is make the move to AMD if it is better ..........your call as I see it...........

If you haven't already, I recommend downloading a program called Display Driver Uninstaller, you can find it HERE. Before you run DDU, download the latest driver version from our website HERE and save the file on your computer. Install and run the Display Driver Uninstaller program, it will ask to boot into safe mode. When you have booted into safe mode select the option "Clean and Restart (Highly Recommended)". This will clean the previous version of the drivers out of the system and registry and boot back into Windows. Locate the folder where you saved the drivers from our website, open the driver installer. Select "Custom Installation", you will see a check box to perform a clean installation, be sure to check that box then finish the install. That should potentially fix any driver issues. There are other fan speed controller/overclocking programs you can use. They are all excellent in my opinion but offer slightly different features, it is a matter of preference. This article HERE is from January but it still contains a relevant list of software that you may be interested in checking out.

just an FYI, I just ordered a 1060 SC 3GB card from amazon that I received and it did not have the updated BIOS. I just submitted a ticket to EVGA after registering the product and later that day I got a response with the updated bios/instructions, very easy to do.

Hi guys. For what I read here I'm thinking that I should'n install this firmware update. I'm already having a high GPU temperature (because I need to replace my old CPU fan), and it seems that the update will increase the heat. Also, I do not think at all that my 1060 is making too much of a noise. Can someone please confirm this conclusion of mine? Thanks in advance

Harry 68, If I'm not mistaken your bios do not have the new 0% idle fan update. The number version is the same as mine. Only if you want to update they send a zip file to your e-mail.

Got it. I assumed that because yesterday I've contacted the EVGA support ticket regarding the firmware, and I was told that my model didn't come with the update. Mine is also a gtx1060sc 6GB

Hi guys, As I know from when I bought it, there are two "options". You need to write to EVGA support requesting one of these: - BIOS with 0% fan feature. - BIOS with fan always on (with a minimum of 20% speed). Simply write then with your exact P/N number and ask about the desired option (0% or not 0%).

Hmmmmm not really sure, with 0% maybe it was at 50-52ºC aprox (The funs turn on when 60ºC are reached). Don't remember so well. And with 20% maybe 45-47ºC. I have it on 32% at 42ºC (With custom curve), but I prefer the 20% BIOS to avoid fan starting and stoping many times, which I consider would reduce its life or sound quality (fan life). Oh, maybe I should mention that my temperatures were those because my GPU is always running at a minimum of 1607mhz, but I have read it runs at 200mhz only when idling, so temps should be lot of lower than mines.

Just received this card yesterday from Amazon and it apparently has the 0db BIOS. The fan goes to 0% unless I manually set it to run in the Precision software. I don't like the cold start/stop of the fan since it may affect fan life. I would rather have the fan constant at low rpm than start/stop,start/stop. Would rather have the older BIOS since the Precision tool makes my Logitech software crash. Going to write support and try to get other BIOS before I send this thing back
