I toke off the fans and installed my waterblock and noticed that along some edges there is what looks like wet marks? I cleaned it off with rubbing alcohol but why was it there? Pic:

That's not water, that's oil from the thermal pads and its normal.

Hi , how long have you been running the cards with just the universal blocks?

Im doing the same with the Swiftech MCW 82, but im afraid of VRM temps and put a 90mm fan directly on the card(which i really hate).

Do you have any trouble with the card wit just the block? any other cooling on the ACX plate? Stability issues? Do you overclock the card?

I apreciate any insight about this topic, Will the card behave normally with just the waterblock and no cooling on the ACX plate?

Haven't got around to putting it in my system. Waiting on a rad to arrive next week. Don't think VRM / RAM temps should be a problem if you have good airflow in the case. Can always get some cooper or nickle VRM / RAM heatsinks.

My 680's had this on the backplate after taking them out for the 780's. It is normal, thermal grease.
