For those of you who desire tempered glass for your DG case, I thought I'd create this post with a picture of one example of how a tempered glass upgrade can be done for fairly cheap.
This is a DG-86, but I'm sure the windows are all the same.
If you have upgraded your DG case with tempered glass please post your pictures and a brief explanation of what you used and how you did it.
I searched quite alot and even checked with custom glass shops, until I finally stumbled across a kit that would fit perfectly.
Tempered Glass Kit: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAAGV61R5393
I actually used a dremmel with 2 plastic cutter bits on a dremmel. It actually cut out easier than I thought, but took some time breaking off all of the melted points after while insuring not to bend the outer metal edge.
Until you get the glass on the metal edge is extremely pliable and easy to bend so please be careful.
The best way I found to fit the glass was: the inner holes of the glass (making a square) subtracted from the outer edge of the door to get four separate points on the metal for which to drill for the standoff screws.
Once those holes were drilled I used a normal computer "thumb screw" (same threads as the standoff) and while applying significant force, tapped the holes for the thread with that.
After that was done it was just a matter of screwing in the standoffs, placing the rubber over the standoffs, fitting the new glass window, screwing the black large knurled edge screws into the standoffs and done.
The tempered glass looks amazing. I thought my acrylic door was clear, but I had no idea.
If you have any questions, please feel free to pm me. Haven't updated to mod rigs yet (site down), but here is a couple of pics.
Let me know what you think or if you have other ideas of how to upgrade these massive yet awesome cases.
This PC is at the center of our "floating" Entertainment center which is great for this "side view" type of case.
Thanks

I think DG-87 really deserve Tempered Glass.
I must be fair, EVGA done great jobe with Hadron and EVGA DG-8 Series.
But these new DG-7 have only some parts nice and interesting....

Definitely deserve more customers so nice case.
Proud owners should get their tempered glass but I afraid that number of
people who would have bought Tempered glass maybe is not enough to build him.
Is it possible some service who work with glass to help, if get whole panel and design 10+ pcs

I bought this case for its value (low cost, quality materials), side view, size, and ability to mod. Mostly I was searching for a case with a side window that I could fit all 3 loops, yet still be manageable. I believe this case is about the same size as the Obsidian 1000D and less than half the price, yet built very solid.
I think if EVGA would have sold the 8 series with a tempered glass DG-88 or just made them all with tempered glass, they would have done better. Atleast offer an upgrade option.

How big is your case when you put Case like that?
I didn't had nothing in house to serve me as holder for DG-87, nothing.

The case is very large, I originally built the "floating" shelves around it as the entertainment center. Its right below a sound bar and a 65" Sharp Quattron. I'm not a fan of bluetooth or wireless keyboard and mouse for games so I got 2 15' USB 3.0 cables for my ASUS Claymore, and Gladius II.

I am doing something similar with mine. My computer room has a recessed area I use for my entertainment center. Currently, I was thinking of running a usb switch and hdmi cables through my wall and setting up a wall socket next to my desk so I could just plug my monitors/keyboard/mouse in.

Sounds nice. Yeah, given the size of this case, you kinda have to build around it.

I am not fully pleased with how this turned out, Id like to get a good look at a DG-84 door to see how the hinges/latches are done, maybe that would make a better frame, Maybe Evga would be nice enough to sell me a door (and maybe a few of the attachment posts for the top since Ive broken one)

Looks great, you did the whole door size. Where did you get the glass? I noticed on mine that it does strain the hinges as they are not designed to handle such weight, but it holds pretty well. I made sure that the glass was very tight at the screws so that the tension would reinforce the door. How'd you do yours?

I ordered the glass online (onedayglass)

I just peeled the metal skin off the acrylic, cut the window area from the door, then adhered the glass to the 'door' with automotive glass adhesive.

It works well, and looks great from straight on, but I dont like how much the glass projects from the body (and I managed to chip the glass), so I have already made up custom hinges and a latch for round two. which wont be beveled so It can be a bit thinner.

I went the cheap route, but the next time around I may be borrowing your idea. Great job.

Hey if someone is able to do this like a professional and make it flush with the body and sturdy I may be willing to pay to have one made for my DG-87. My plastic door is already getting scratchy just from cleaning dust off of it.
