vormiciaim waiting for my PWM hubs so i can control groups of 3 at the same time shipping from China wasn't the quickest but they are awesome http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA8R64R95474 do keep in mind that a non auxiliary powered fan hub pulls all its power from the motherboard fan header. so make sure your fan headers are rated high enough to supply the fans you are wanting to put on the hub.

I'm pondering if its even worth doing push/pull if you are going to use two big honking 420 radiators. Having a second set of fans only marginally helps improve cooling on normal speeds (About 7%, JayZ tested it recently). It does do a little better when you have 2200RPM fans on there going full tilt, but with the noise, who does that.. My gut feeling tells me it should be fine if you run push in front, and pull up top. Atleast thats how I intend on doing it. Unfortunately im going on vacation next week, so no build blog just yet. The good news is that Zotac's 1080 arctic storm card will be available when I get back. (SINCE EVGA SEEMS RELUCTANT TO COUGH UP THEIR DAMNED 1080 HYDROCOPPER!! ) I'm still on the fence about soft vs. hard tubing. Hardtubing can look very nice and orderly, but its apparently a PITA to work with. I kinda want to use EK's white flextubing with black anti-cinch springs instead. ..well what I REALLY want is transparent flextubing with some of mayhems white 'shampoo' liquid, but I heard that stuff is pretty bad for your blocks and doesnt last long, so...

I don't know why people complain so much about hard tubing being so difficult. My build in this case was my first time doing hard tubing (I used soft before in all of my builds) and I didn't find it that difficult; that's even with me using acrylic over PETG. I think it comes down to this: Would you enjoy spending a Saturday making sure every bend is perfect? Yes? Hard tubing is for you. No? Go back to soft tube.

It just looks a little intimidating, especially when you have several turns to make in 1 piece of tubing. Do they sell jigs to make perfect bends? I dont have the tools nor place to woodshop something myself. :')They do!

Just preordered my DG-87 and started buying parts for it, out of interest does anyone have the case already and tell me what the 3 140mm fans are in the front? Need to know if i need to replace them for Noctua's or if they are good enough as is

Good enough as is. My nocturnal 120mm dint make a discernable difference in noise or airflow. Given the open nature of the case, any fan gonna be heard.

What's with the availability of the DG-87? Can you buy it anywhere? Also, what is the thickest radiator you can fit in the DG87? Something tells me I can forget to fit my RX360V3 in there.

Got my DG-87 last week and started building it over the end of the week, but TBH, I'm very disappointed with it, and will probably be moving it on when the 'build bug' hits me again. Just too many issues and niggles with it, plus the sub-par build quality in comparison to some of the other options out there makes it a big disappointment for me personally, as it was supposed to be the finishing touch of my current build. Way too much plastic.....which leads to dodgy seams, especially that top cover fixings, front panel cabling is lacking length if you have to go beyond the default fan configuration or to route the cables better. But the biggest issue for me was the rad space available up top in conjunction with a Rampage VE10 is nowhere near enough when using an EK Predator 360 - which leads to you having to frontmount the unit, which completely changes the airflow situation in the case. Currently trying intake from the top. which I'd normally avoid due to heat mechanics and the lack of a dust filter. Not exactly the quietest build either, even with the fans under control so may look into some replacements. That's not going to be an issue for different MB/Cooling configs with this case, but it's a glaring problem that I probably won't be able to look past. Real shame TBH, as I kind of like the look compared to some of the boring chassis out there nowadays.

Whoof, it felt and sounded like pulling a tree out of the ground, but its off now. Bit of an iffy design there, EVGA, why not those nice quickfits like the "front" filter?

Anyone here experiencing something janky going on with their PCIe slots? Ive got a problem where my GPU wont sit flush with the bracket bar; Whats that about? Ive reseated my motherboard twice to see if I could align it properly, but it simply wont reach. Is something out of shape, or is it my motherboard and videocard not playing nice?

I might have, if you guys didn't slobber some random red line all over it. :P Aesthetically the EVGA boards are not very appealing.

you know that red line on the x99 FTW is led's that can be turned off? and honestly evga's ftw is one of the most neutral colored mobos out there, basically solid black.

I see, I wasnt aware of the LED light, it looked like a hidious red paint striping on most pictures. Still though, it lacks a few key features; WiFi, Bluetooth, Internal USB2.0, pump header, U.2 connector.

ya they photoshop it to look more solid in color and not glowy like it really is with the red led's. you also have some odd tastes in mobo options. U.2 is an Intel proprietary connection while M.2 is its universal replacement, which the x99 FTW has. this M.2 can give you your wireless connectivity and why would ever want an actual USB2.0 connection instead of a USB2.0 headers on a mobo, which it has 3 of btw? OH, and to your initial pic, i had to actually grab the metal mobo tray and pull the whole thing towards the front of the case to get the slots to line up. this was because all the weight of the GPU's was actually making the tray sag a bit while it was laying on its back.

Chris21010U.2 is an Intel proprietary connection while M.2 is its universal replacement, which the x99 FTW has. Its true that U.2 is intel only, but I WANTED intel. Nothing else will give me that sweet 2500/1300 Read/Write speed that will make my 4k video editing a heavenly pleasure. The U.2 drive will also never overheat due to its more conventional aluminum casing, unlike the M.2 strips that overheat and throttle more often than not due to lack of heatsinks. And then theres the fact that its 1.2Tb. I got it for a 'bargain' price of 600 euros as well (normally 1400). In short: Yeah U.2 is proprietary, but it does its job way better than any other storage device out there. Chris21010this M.2 can give you your wireless connectivity At the cost of being able to run M.2 or U.2 drives. So thats a waste. Chris21010and why would ever want an actual USB2.0 connection instead of a USB2.0 headers on a mobo, which it has 3 of btw? I was talking about headers too, its just a lot of internal devices dont play nice with 3.1, like the NTXZ Hue+ RGB LED controller. Chris21010OH, and to your initial pic, i had to actually grab the metal mobo tray and pull the whole thing towards the front of the case to get the slots to line up. this was because all the weight of the GPU's was actually making the tray sag a bit while it was laying on its back. I figured this out as well just now! I had to lift the GPU a little from the butt end so the PCIe slot 'catch' caught on to the PCB's hook, then putting the case upright allowed me just enough leeway to screw down the videocard nicely. I'm glad its sorted now, I was starting to panic a bit. :')

I think my hard disk is under the i/o portion of the motherboard. Or the lowest left position. I'm not at home to check. Can you place in the bottom area where the drive cages would otherwise be? Maybe tape it down? You really shouldn't be getting that much downward heat from your gpus. Heat rises and there is plenty of materials in the way that should restrict heat transfer that way. Do you have sufficient case fans? Pretty sure hard disks can run hotter than that and be OK, but I'd check the drive health just in case.

Hey, I find myself suddenly in the market for a new case after discovering that my 7 year old case to end all cases (CoolerMaster CosmosS) doesn't support the current standard 360mm radiator even though it was obviously outfitted to support tubing and had 3 adjacent 120mm's. That lesson being learned, just saying that it supports certain radiator sizes doesn't help me confirm that the radiator that I spent lots and lots and lots and lots and lots [.....] of money on will actually fit.

each fan screw has a slot that it can fit into that is about an inch to inch and a half long. so it will fit any rad, as long as said rad uses the width of the fans screws for the width of radiator screw holes.
