Asus will also have a new customer this week, if EVGA dont give a solid answer about the release of the SR-X in North America.

I don't think we are going to get a answer from them. I love EVGA just as much as the next guy. But please give us an answer to our questions. Will we have to wait another month for these boards. Or what?

Hello. Yes, I think they were at 100%, but I am not entirely sure. I do think though, that the primary reason that your computer reached 28860, probably was due to the higher memory speed (compared to mine) - I am not sure entirely, why else that even a fully clocked sr2 would beat a srx (at least computationally, in e.g. cinebench, the sr-x is faster - so a reasonable assumption as your had 2000mhz mem, and mine had 1333mhz mem, that the Fritz Benchmark program uses the memory a lot). I have purchased a 3960x to put in one of my two motherboards - so I will test both with that chip - running them in 1 cpu mode. Besides that I will also try to see if 2400MHz Memory will be be possible to acquire - and try the tests again (both for the 2xE5 2687w's and the 1x3960x)

Tutor [snip] I suggest that you slightly increase (1) the phase-locked loop (PLL) Voltage Control (img9922h & img9936c) VCore 1.9V for both CPUs and (2) the system's PCH Voltage Control value for PCH Voltage 1.5000V (img9947kc & img9947z). Tweaking the PWM Frequency Control (img9950ee & img9951d) might also provide some relief. These voltages are used by the CPUs' clocks. Try to keep PCH Voltage 1.5000V in the low 1.5xxx range and the PLL Voltage Control in the low 1.9x(x) range. Let me know if this helps. I tried the following : 1.) Increase PLL VCore from 1.900 to 1.909 (in 0.001 step intervals - I am not entirely sure what exact you meant by 1.9x(x) - that I should test only in the (x) or if the (x) was irrelevant) - I will do more tests later in the 1.9(x)x range (the (x) range, later today). 2.) Increase PWM from 500 to 509 (also in 1 step intervals). 3.) Increase PCH Voltage from 1.5000 to 1.5090 in 1 step intervals (9 steps total, not 90, as one cannot enter the 4th digit from the "." point) The steps were performed simultaneous to avoid too many resets :P ... Later each step might have to be taken individually for finding a better setup (if at all). Unfortunately, it did not increase stability, nor did the LAN adapters appear ... EVGA - please - (if you have the time, and arent too busy preparing to ship the SR-X's and the 680's and 690's with waterblocks) - please let me know why the LAN is being disabled at any overclock - if there is any solution to getting them present in an overclocked modus. Thank you. Best regards : CyberstormXIII

Can someone who has this board installed confirm if there is one PCIe expansion slot at the top of your case that isn't used before the 1st of the 7 epansion slots line up with the back of the case and the motherboard? Many thanks

Hello Sleinous. There are 2 slots between the 1st PCI-E slot and the I/O backplate (meaning, the first PCI-e slot goes into the 3rd expansion slot hole, counted from the I/O backplate) - at least for my Lian Li PC P80N chassis/cabinet/case - and I would assume goes for any chassis/cabinet/case. (and those 2 holes are unused, and can thus be used for e.g. water cooling extra, or USB/other backplate necessities). Best regards : CyberstormXIII

Extremely disappointed with the lack of information and poor communication from EVGA on the release of the SR-X. Not even a bit. The emails I got from support are too vague. :-( Come on guys, we want to give you our money, but we deserve a little more than silence.

Hello Shadow001 I made a crude comparison chart (that I have not yet posted) some days ago, but the more time I have spent on it, the more I want to make a proper comparison between the two, so, its going to take somewhat longer. So, I am sorry to not be able to "spill the beans" yet. Best regards CyberstormXIII.

A question for fellow SR-2 Users, is, how exactly is the E-Leet Tuning Utility supposed to work ? I have tried to use it, but regardless of what settings I set in the BIOS, when having booted into Windows 7, it shows the current values, but I am unable to alter anything but the Turbo multiplier pr core - the BCLK is not an option to change (Actually everything else is just a "grey" area (not even greyed out numbers in the different Clock Controls, which I should think would be the most prominent to be able to change.)) It shows under the Overclocking tab the following : Clocks Control: CPU BCLK RAM PCIE PCI Current Selection everything grey, in those 10 boxes. Below are then 2 sliders BCLK and PCI-E, both of those are also greyed out and disabled. Also, an answer from EVGA regarding this would be very nice ... Either its me who does not know what I am doing ... if so, please do educate me ... Thirdly, it would be nice for anyone else, who have the board to post their experiences here ... I feel quite alone ... I mean, I cant be the only one who have it ?!?! Best Regards : CyberstormXIII

CyberstormXIII, I wouldnt be surprise that you were the only lucky one. :-) The waiting room is full of people with CC in their hands. Im actually here killing the time browsing at supermicro.com , maybe I can find a Mobo where to put my two E5-2687W. Got them last week, got everything else, but still missing the SR-X,,. As much as I want to make you company, Im seriously considering moving to something else.

It provides a touchy feelly was to adjust clock and volt values for stability on a running system. You've got to record them and adjust your bios to match your best setting and save the bios in case of the need to re-set.

Only time most people use it is to push out those last few MHz you can achieve once in windows but can't boot with when running benchmarks. I do not even use the program when I overclock.

Hello dimobr The Problem still persists primarily. But by following tutor's advice on setting the PLL, PWM and PCH voltages slightly up, it at least feels like there is less rebooting after going through the BCLK=100 (F4 = save and exit), BCLK = 105, F4, and then BCLK=107. the last couple of times, had either 0 or 1 resets in-between, so that might suggest, that increasing them a bit more might make it more stable. But regardless of those changes, it still have a hard time starting at 107 (either cold or warm reset) -- at least to my experience is, that doing a F3(restore optimal values), F4, then going the 100, F4, 105, F4, and then 107, F4 course is the one that gives a running system the fastest. My current values are something of the sort : PLL Vcore = 1920, PWM = 520, and PCH = 1520 Had Cinebench run at 27.57 (so a 0.06 point increase) compared to the standard voltages - BCLK=108 still does not want to happen at all ... and I rather not go too high on the values with standard air cooling, and no proper cooling on chipset/mosfets - so it still might be possible to go a bit higher - hard to know for sure.

Just went though the thread again. At least two others in the thread have received the EVGA SR-X board. CyberstormXIII Ordered the EVGA SR-X on April 17th, at 05:28 AM (EVGA Site time)
Fireclaw received his EVGA SR-X on April 23rd, at 12:54 PM (or earlier) (EVGA Site time) NEMESIS2011 received his EVGA SR-X on April 25th at 2:29 AM (or earlier) (EVGA site time) CyberstormXIII received his EVGA SR-X on April 25th at 16:57 AM (exact) (EVGA site time)
So, Fireclaw, and NEMESIS2011 --- please do tell, what you have experienced so far ;-) Best regards : CyberstormXIII

Sorry I didn't see them, thanks! Clock*core and clock*core the results are pretty much the same as Westmere, I had 2 hexacores at 3.33Ghz that gave 17 score, "scaling" your 2 octacores to 2 hexacores at 3.33 Ghz they'd yield 18.87 score which is 10% faster than previous gen Xeons mmmm
