crkinard GoofyR I wouldn't be surprised if the price of the SR-2 goes up. If you read the EVGA forums most people bought their components already. Since most expected the board to release late March early April. They are gonna jerk us around cause they know most of are sitting on 2X expensive server chips and SR-2 only cases. We were setup like bowling pins by EVGA. I was a loyal AMD/ASUS customer for over 15 years until I saw this board. Once I get this board (at what cost unknown) Ill lick my wounds and never deal with EVGA again. I think your tin foil hat is getting a bit weathered. Here, have a new one. Thanks youre right it was a little weathered now that you mentioned it.

i have a new in box tpq1200 (won it), which is the same as the sr2 psu minus the little control that bumps your 12v up a couple percent (at least until it breaks). so let me know if you are interested.

I've been highly anticipating the Power Supply from Evga. I've almost broke down and bought the OC version as well with the thought it be like the EVGA version. While searching reviews of the OC version versus standard 1200 I found this from a Antec rep: "The "standard" TPQ-1200 is essentially the same item with a few differences in the number of connectors, and of course lacks the knobs for fine-tuning the output of the PSU." Full thread can be found here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/270303-28-here-antec-true-power-1200-quattro-edition

Ya the antec 1200 oc is a great psu, but I dont beleive that the OC version is any better than the vanilla as far as output goes. It's definantly not worth the extra money, and unless the SR-2 psu is different, i will bet that it is not the worth the price either. I wanted to beleive the antec 1200 OC was some sort of super psu but just couldn't after doing some research and using some logic. Thats why I ordered 2 x Corsair hx850's. I will have 1700 watts of quality power at my demand and excellent warranties. Also both psu's will be around half load which is when they are at their best efficiency. Not only this but I paid less for both psu's than I would have if I had bought an antec 1200 oc or I'm sure the sr-2 psu.

So Jacob, not gonna tell us how many were actually available right? Can you tell us how soon you expect the board to actually be available in a decent quantity, and why you're not offering a pre-order? Personally I am on a deadline now and am not going to keep checking here everyday, I mean, gee, I'm ready to put down the money even on a pre-order because I figure it improves the odds of meeting my deadline. My money is ready for the taking. However my parts are still collecting dust after checking these forums everyday since before it was officially announced and still managing to miss the so called release. So I'll make you a deal, If you give us some honest information about what to expect with availability, I'll put my money towards a different EVGA product when my deadline comes up, if not, I'll go with Asus. (Course the flaw in this is that my value as just one customer has no real meaning) What the hell, another question, if for some reason someone has to RMA their board for replacement, are you going to give them some refurbished junk thats going to fail after a couple days of use ((rinse and repeat the RMA process 3 more times before giving up and buying a product brand new)), or is there going to be some real quality control in that regard?

clo007 Maybe this post by MM on the XS forums will shed some light on why he received this motherboard: "This project first started out with an email from me to Peter Tan(Shamino) at EVGA corporation sending him a congratulations on a 6633MHz run on a early release Gulftown cpu last October I believe. He responded and the discussion got around to the potentials of a dual socket 1366 board and what I'd like to see in one. Then I mentioned that 'I'd love to have some input to a company designing one" His response was 'We are and you can" That began a round of emails between us with me imputing what I'd like to see and trust me, my involvement was in a very small way. This board is all Peter's and he's accomplished what I thought to be undo able as Intel specifically designed the dual 1366 5520 chip set to be locked up solid. Then I got to meet Peter at CES in January at Las Vegas. What I saw was rare in this world. An intelligent guy who was open and friendly and also very humble. A smile that captures the room and just having a good time meeting all the people. Then I watched him "working" later that evening and saw the intensity in his eyes. I will tell you that if you ever get a chance to meet him do it. You will be glad that you did. I'd also like to say to EVGA that the smartest thing you've done as a company was bringing him into the fold. I found out app 3 weeks ago that this board was coming and although Peter had mentioned months ago that he'd send one I was still surprised when it arrived. Here I'd like to say my thanks to Peter and EVGA for this board and the patience of listening to this old guy go on and on about "dualies". In addition to being who he is he must also have the patience of a saint." Post #471 in this thread to see his whole response: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=246135&page=19 lol, that's the most bromantic thing I have ever read, it's like a poem!

Punchy moviemanxs No, I do not work for EVGA Well, you may not be paid by EVGA, but you probably were "compensated" by EVGA in the form of a free SR-2 board, so you're not entirely unbiased. Thanks for jumping in, though, it's nice to hear from an actual user. I know I've seen your build thread before but could you post a link? Lots of folks want to hear more about actual OC'ability and could benefit from seeing your experiences. I'd like to respond to the "compensated" comment. The best way to say this is to understand me first. I'm 58, been waiting for a board like this for years, tried to talk SM into doing one for over 2 years with no luck. When I got involved with this my only thoughts were to try and bring what I knew about dualies to Peter. They are different and not just another socket and more dimm slots on a single board. My sole purpose was to try and help and never expected to get a "free board" Now you guys don't know me but if the board was crap I'd have told Peter, suggested fixes, etc. I would NEVER publically say that something bad was good. That was a non issue as the board is excellent. Have had it at 100% load for over 2 months on air at 4200mhz(25x168) and have taken it for short benches to 4500+ Just this am I decided to play a little and bumped up the machine and ran wPrime 32 and 1024m to see what I could get out of it. Now remember, I am far from a talented bencher and if I can do it, you guys most certainly can. Now if you go take a look at the standings on HWBot you'll see my name in the #2 position on wPrime 32m and in #4 on 1024m.. Am I biased, yes I am but thats due to the machine's capabities not to any trying to suck up to or please EVGA. There is just no need of that. They did it right and the proof is in the numbers.

CorDox, Don't waste your breath I've been asking the same questions since March 15th. EVGA is a multi billion dollar company that doesn't have to answer any of your questions. If they lose your measly $600 dollars to Asus it doesn't matter they have the customer base to make it up. Kinda like Microsoft and Nvidia.

@ movieman: Im just totally happy that you gave Shamino/Evga input on this dual 1366 board. Thanks man! So we all FINALLY (soon) can have a real rock solid 5520 chipset dual 1366, overclockable board :D (That no one else has ever made or been close to making). For me personally, well, i dont care about these moans about days, weeks or even months of "delays". (Though information about ETA is nice!) Im in it for the long run! My computers keep running for years on end. Hell i still have a 850Mhz Athlon running!, plus a bunch of Celerons and a few C2Ds. So i expect to run an SR-2 rig for a LONG time! Just to highlight we arent all in this as early adopters/bleeding edge enthuasists (though i DONT mind that!), i just could REALLY use a DAMN good dual 1366 board (sometimes max performance in ONE machine is needed).

I ordered mine on 7/30/10 at circuitcity.com (with 15% bing cashback)....at the time it said "in stock"....well the rest of my order shipped, and when I logged on to check the status, it said "backordered, ships 7-21 days".....On the bright side, the board actually shipped on 8/6/10, and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow!!!!!!!!! .....back to searching google for more sr-2 pics/builds to hold me over for 24 more hours!!! Things are looking up!
