Hey gang, the EVGA BOINC crunching team is in a 3 day WCG sprint challenge.You all are invited to help out, we can use your help for a few days. This is CPU tasks, no GPU, so if you're folding on GPU and want something worthwhile do do with your CPU...
WCG has BIO med projects looking for cures like Aids, Ebola, Cancer, TB and others.
WCG runs under the BIONC client, its backbone is IBM. Vassar, Marist are big into it.
WCG has had very good results, lives have been saved

Very easy to set up, ask for help if you need it.
 
The crunching team is small, but very active with sprints and challenges a couple two or three times a month.
 
Mods please do not move to the crunching section.
Trying to get more visibility and some new members to the team.

    This seems like a very worthwhile cause. But just out of curiosity does crunching use a significant amount of extra electricity, like will it be noticeable on my electric bill?

    It depends, a GPU and CPU all out running 24/7 will add between 30 to 50 a month depending on electric cost.
    Just a CPU, there are more CPU projects than CPU, just a CPU would be less of course .
    But you can just help with sprints, one or two 3 day runs a month would not be that much with just one system.
    You can do as much or as little as you like.

    Yes it will, but well worth it.
