Hi all,

Curious what your load temps are post hybrid kit install on 3090 FTW3 Ultra cards. I have 22 room/intake ambient but am seeing idle temps at 48-50 with aggressive fan curve. This is reduced from 60 degrees when it was air cooled. However, under load this shoots up to 80-82 degrees C which is warmer than with air. Any troubleshooting ideas? Idle temp SC attached

Is the fan on the shroud spinning under load?

Might be worth taking it apart again and checking the mount. Does the thermal paste look like it spread correctly etc. (I think you get additional paste in the kit to try the remount again).

After loosely tightening the 4 CPU mount screens, and then the remaining screws around the board, did you go back and fully tighten the CPU mount screws? This seems to be a step some people miss, and so the mount is not tight enough.

48-50 degrees with an aggressive fan curve seems high for ambient temp, but you say with the air cooler it was at 60 ambient? That far over ambient at idle (with both the kit and air cooled) suggests a serious air flow issue with your case.

What case do you have and how have you mounted the radiator?

Is the fan on the shroud spinning under load? Yep minimal change to temps even at 100% across the board

Might be worth taking it apart again and checking the mount. Does the thermal paste look like it spread correctly etc. (I think you get additional paste in the kit to try the remount again) - True, likely next step but temps on icx seem consistent across components

Definitely not an airflow issue :/

What case do you have and how have you mounted the radiator? Currently O11D radiator is side mounted above the block

    Just another thought.

Looking at your idle screenshot, does the GPU constantly sit at clock speeds around 1800mhz, or was that just a spike when you took the screen shot? (mine does spike every so often)

My 3080 XC3 sits at around 200-300mhz at idle with the memory around 405mhz and idle temp of around 22 degrees.

If it does maintain these clock speeds at idle:

    - Are you sure you haven't got Boost Lock on?

    - Or in Nvidia Control Panel 3D settings, make sure the Power Management Mode is not set to Prefer Maximum Performance.

Finders crossed it's that simple :)
